  1. Jay Thomas to Dave: We'll never see each other again. Dave to Jay: That's right. Brilliant Darlene looked fabulous. Sounded fabulous. I always start crying when the snow starts falling...
  2. Thank you both. I'll get around to watching the beginning of the show at some point.
  3. So long, in fact, that many of us here in the Capital of The Free World , have been calling them The Taters for years. I missed the beginning of the bit, but was Dave calling the Taters owner "Snyderman"? Wasn't sure if there was a mention of why at the beginning (since his name is Snyder). Not that it bothers me. He's called much worse names around here.
  4. I don't. My husband doesn't like them, so when we moved in together 22 years ago, I stopped wearing perfume. I do use Victoria's Secret vanilla body lotion. He seems to be okay with that. And I like it.
  5. Just bought tickets for Constellations in January. Mr ebk is a huge fan of Ruth Wilson. So...we'll see. We will also see On The Town because I want to see it :-). I'm hoping for a new discount code for Cabaret. The current one expires on January 4. This is a totally spur of the moment trip...if you can call 5 weeks out "spur of the moment." Can't wait!
  6. Kate McKinnon participated in the Lily Tomlin Kennedy Center Honors tribute last night. Show will air on 12/30 on CBS. It's always a lovely evening. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2014/12/07/tom-hanks-sting-saluted-at-kennedy-center-honors-gala/20050929/
  7. Your daughter has good taste!! :-)
  8. I'm watching the behind-the-scenes show. Did I miss the memo that they will all be using English accents? Not very good English accents? Why??
  9. Today I'm off to buy the sweet potatoes and apples for my contribution to the Thanksgiving table. A recipe I found in the November 1982 Gourmet magazine - sliced sweet potatoes, sliced apples (and chestnuts that I've never used) in a honey-rum sauce. I love it. And Mr. ebk's family swore they never ate sweet potatoes at all before I started bringing this. Yay me :-) I've been know to bring a pumpkin cheesecake on occasion, too, but not this year. I'm also in charge of the wine! (bringing it and drinking it...)

Local sweep for Managers of the Year! I wish it made me feel better about the end results for both teams...
  11. I had 3/4 of a donut for breakfast. I had 2 slices of pizza for lunch. Mr ebk is working tonight, so I'm having...wine. That's a complete meal, right?

Admittedly, I did not get up for the start of the game this morning, but the end was pretty fun!
  13. Still have my mom's Sunbeam stand mixer from the ... 60's? It still works fine, although I don't use it much since my husband bought the Kitchen-Aid. I also used mom's Sunbeam hand mixers until a few years ago with the second one finally blew out the motor. I do like the Kitchen-Aid hand mixer I got to replace it.

WERE still mad? This person near Baltimore is STILL livid and will be to my dying day!! I'll never root for the Colts or Peyton Manning...just because I'm an old, bitter curmudgeon. So There!!! Lifelong sports grudges are the best grudges! (I agree with the rest of your post. Especially the "get off my lawn" thing)

I would be much happier if the Royals would become the team of density instead of the team of destiny...
  16. Got my tickets to see Angela Lansbury in "Blithe Spirit" at the end of March (oy...I hate planning that far in advance) in DC. I have tickets to see Audra McDonald in concert the night before. Since Mr ebk is working the show, he will not be able to see Audra with me. He is sad. I am sad for him, but thrilled for me. It's gonna be a lovely weekend!!
  17. But, if I recall correctly, Dave told the story on the show before it hit the papers (or other media. It's always "the papers" for me!) so he could get out in front of it. This has already been in the papers and it happened 10 days ago, so I don't see the upside of Dave bringing it up on the show. Stranger things have happened, though.
  18. We're having brisket tonight. Mr ebk put it the oven last night about 11. He's now putting the brussel sprouts in the oven. Estimated time of yumminess - 45 minutes. I'm hungry!
  19. Which is funny because the weekend I'm in North Carolina, he's in NYC! At my favorite theatre...
  20. A friend was in town to work the local college football game, so we went out for Indian food tonight. I had the mulligatawny soup (I'm battling a cold at the moment, so it really helped) and the chicken korma. And wine :-) A lovely evening!

That's quite a long drive on I-70 :-) I could get behind that, though. I could also get behind my Giants fan friend's "#OrangeOctober" . Let's go O's!!

Wow Throws off my entire plan since we're flying back from Chicago Friday evening. I never figured I'd be missing Game 1...
  25. We are in Chicago this week. Tonight we are eating at Boka. Report to follow if I'm not in a food/wine coma.
