OMG, that's exactly what I've been saying for a week or so about the O's... and the Nats to a point. The things we say to get through the disappointment...

That's one of the, um, benefits (?) of going to many, many stadiums. When I buy tickets, I start getting emails from all the teams, So when the schedules get released, I get emails from...all of them. Good thing I love baseball.

  9. Not only is he still working, but he's working on Broadway. Just finished a run in You Can't Take it With You, and will open soon in The Gin Game with Cicely Tyson. I should really go and see that.

All about Dave's beard: http://sports.usatoday.com/2015/09/01/why-david-letterman-grew-that-bushy-white-beard/ And a less beard-related article: http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story/david-letterman-indycar-sonoma-raceway-go-pro-grand-prix-of-sonoma-graham-rahal-090215 Yes, I'm desperate for Dave news...

I wish the O's could bank some of these runs tonight. They've certainly been in short supply lately... Oh, btw, if anyone wants to go to the O's game on the 12th (scarf giveaway!), I have an extra ticket (can't hurt to try...:-) )

Two lovely stadiums in the great Spring Training circuit. Both did great remodeling jobs. Really love the Port St Lucie complex!

Even though it wasn't free, I did bring home a lovely beer can. And when I bought it, it was filled with lovely beer!

That game was brutal. Pregame was lovely. Mid 5th inning was lovely. The rest can go into the trash can right now. I was thinking of you, King of Birds, while watching the scoreboard. If I have to choose, I always choose the Yankees to lose. But now, we're so close to last place... it's a puzzlement... :-)

Alas, no giveaway at all tonight. It's like they're trying to keep it low-key for some odd reason. I had the game on tape too...as a matter of fact, it may still be in the tape cabinet. Perhaps someday I'll look... xaxat. we were at the last game of his streak. The next day, we started the drive to Kansas City and St Louis. I think we were somewhere in West Virginia when we heard Ryan Minor was playing.

Tonight, the O's are commemorating the 20th anniversary of Cal Ripken's 2131st consecutive game. We have almost the same seats we had way back then. 20 years goes by soooooo fast.
  19. I'd checked the Billboard list before and my song is Teddy Bear by Elvis. So I was confused when this one came up with Tammy by Debbie Reynolds. Wiki says Tammy was #1 on Cashbox, Teddy Bear on Billboard. So I'm a bit less confused now. But that won't last...

Pictures are wonderful. Love the cow! On one of our longer trips to the city, we took the ferry over to Staten Island and walked around the stadium. It's very nice. Unfortunately, the team wasn't home that week so we still haven't gone to a game there.

Damn. I was looking forward to getting that one. I'd heard it was awful... Still looking for cheapish tickets to both games on StubHub. Maybe now they'll be cheaper for Sunday.

Aim, I think the people I'm going to the game with will want the Coolidge 'head, but if one of them doesn't, I'll send it to you! Lantern7, StubHub works both ways. If you buy a ticket to the last game now and can't go, I'll bet you could at least make your money back. Also, if you wake up Saturday and want to go, you might be able to get a cheaper ticket at the last minute for the Orosco 'head. I've always had a soft spot for Jesse because there were several years near the end of his career where he was the only active player older than me :-) As for Schilling, I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything...

Yes. Yes. And yes!! I always like to go to the last game of the season, no matter how bad the season was. I'm obsessively checking StubHub now for the last 2 bobblehead games at Nats Park - Jason Werth and Calvin Coolidge. Bonus is the Coolidge 'head is against the O's.
