  1. I stole this from onpyre on Tumblr, but OMG: "and, of course, freezing out the player not working with the team.. this time literally" 😮 RIP Jackie I also read a comment somewhere about the choice of song when they walked into the reunion. Maybe there's something to keeping them separated.
  2. I'm leaning this way, too, even while understanding why it would exist. If it's Lottie's cult, who is still alive, I can see how surviving all of this would lead her to think this is the way and not getting a refill of her meds stat as soon as she was rescued. And people join cults for all types of reasons, so I can see her gaining followers who weren't part of the original team. I just hope the show doesn't become cult-centric. I've already seen spec that Adam was part of the cult, which could explain his back tattoo, his cabin he was trying to lure take Shauna to, his social media absence, and his family not hearing from him for weeks. Orrrrr, he's just a dismembered artist who was hit by the wrong lady. Something to chew on until S2 - why has it not started filming, I need it! I also thought that was interesting as far as who had single pics displayed.
  3. I have no idea how the showrunners plan to keep this going for 5 seasons, but I like all the actresses (both young and old versions) enough to see where it goes. I am curious why all this is happening now. Not the Adam/kidnapped investigator/blackmail stuff. But the Travis' murder and Lottie's apparent cult kidnappers. It's been 25 years. Is it because it's the anniversary? Or just a coinkidink? I don't think Tai knows she's got Biscuit's head on an alter. I think she's completely disassociating, but has it always been happening or just now when Jeff sent the postcard - yes I'm still mad about that. Retraumatizing survivors for 50k is ridiculously cruel even if he's too dim to understand that. But damn, whatever went down out there ingrained itself into these women. Shauna's blase attitude about dismembering Adam and Misty's glee about being needed again and tying up loose ends with the fixer. Damn. Natalie seems mostly self-destructive at this point, but it wouldn't surprise me if we find out more about her and Travis' time together. So it was probably the cult that Travis was referring to about Natalie being right about. Poor Jackie. Everyone who said she'd lost any clout she had back in Jersey was right. No one cared Shauna slept with Jeff. Jackie was still stuck in high school top bitch mode when everyone else had moved on. I don't know what this show is doing to me when I'm glad she died of exposure and wasn't murdered by her friends. I can see why Van started believing and following Lottie. Girl had like 3 near death experiences and also had a magically healed face. And Misty goes wherever she can feel like she's part of a group. I have no idea what was up with that bear though. Curious? Sure. Just laying down to get stabbed? Suspect. Poor Javi. He's probably lost, coming down off his high, and alone. The needle drops in this episode were fabulous. The real question - are we going to get another awesome 90's actress as grown up Lottie? (I'm still bummed we won't get a grown up Brittany Murphy as Jackie.)
  4. Rolling Stone has an article out with Melanie Lynskey. It's paywalled and I've used up my free articles, but this excerpt makes me want to punch a person. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-features/yellowjackets-melanie-lynskey-interview-1284100/
  5. All right, ya'll, it's time. https://www.buzzfeed.com/laurengarafano/yellowjackets-character-quiz Really?? Is this cuz I picked Bye Bye Bye? Based on the descriptions of the others, I'm definitely a Lottie but with plain ole depression and less festive headgear. I got: Jackie https://www.buzzfeed.com/laurengarafano/yellowjackets-character-quiz?utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=bfsharecopy&quiz_result=128532229_1#128532229
  6. I assumed it was a hallucination. It looked like prosthetic skin being pulled away like a mask which isn't how skin works in real life. Or I don't think so. This show has me questioning general human anatomy so ??? 🤨
  7. I did forget for a few seconds so I was not super serene during that scene. I think it was when it looked like they were pulling his skin off his face that I was like, oh wait, he at least makes it to adulthood. Doesn't mean they couldn't have done some serious but nonfatal damage. I've only done cannabis and that just makes me chill and sleepy so I have no knowledge on the accuracy, but lets hope no one crashes in the wilderness, starves, and drinks and eats questionable berry juice with psychedelic mushrooms to fact check that scene. Unless Mythbusters wants to take it on.
  8. I'm also not sure if that instruction was aggressive or if she was trying to help him. She was already hesitating skewering Travis - his face kept fading in and out with the deer's and you could see her starting to get confused, but then the whole group went into hunt mode. The more I think about what Jeff did, the more I'm pissed at him. Those postcards led to Taissa's trauma resurfacing, endangering her child, and will likely end in her marriage ending. But then Taissa hiring a PI has led to Misty kidnapping said PI. And, of course, Adam's dead dead. What a mess. ETA: And Biscuit! I forgot about Biscuit. Way to go, Jeff!
  9. What a wild ride that was. Jeff is an idiot. Having a failing business is not nearly on the same plane as being stranded in the wilderness for 18 months as a teenager and all that entailed, my guy, as far things you may want to discuss with your spouse. That said, Adam getting dead did bring the ladies together which I'm here for. I knew Travis was going to be okay but that was still very tense. Damn that got scary real fast. Since I'm presuming dumbass Jeff didn't set up candles in the shape of the symbol under where Travis' body was found, that mystery is still open. Maybe we'll find out who drained his account as a cliffhanger. Loved seeing the Caboodle. Memories... I did laugh at everyone knowing all the lyrics to Kiss from a Rose cuz I still mumble through some of them. And thinking it was "grave" not "grey."
  10. We Don't Talk About Bruno
  11. I liked the movie but didn't love it, but it's stuck with me for the last few days. Listening to the soundtrack is definitely changing my opinion a bit. Other than WDTAB, none of the songs impressed me at first, but listening again, there's sooo much in each of them, that they have now become earworms. I think I need to watch again to catch everything. Like Dolores talking about Bruno in the present tense because she knows he's there (you can even see him in the background during her part in WDTAB, which I missed until I watched the clip on YouTube. The characters were so well done without the typical stereotypes that could come with strong woman or beautiful girl, but when they were able to embrace who they really wanted to be, they also didn't change a la Sandy at the end of Grease. (Not the perfect example, but the same idea-ish.) They just got to be their real, imperfect selves. And all the shades of people in Colombia - yes, please. More of that. And I know LMM getting some backlash lately for being everywhere or whatever, but I love the way he wordplays and layers lyrics. "I grow rows and rows of roses." My language loving brain ADORES that. I think the biggest thing that's still kinda bothering me is Mirabel not having a thing. I know her thing was saving the family and it's okay to be "normal" in a family of observable powers, but my heart broke for baby Mirabel watching her door disappear. She deserves an awesome room and door, too, Casita!!! I've read the idea that her thing is her attachment and understanding of the house and her door disappeared because she is the house, but I still want her to get a room, lol.
  12. The actor playing Adam is Dutch and Mexican so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility, but I don't know if I'd like it if he was Javi. I do think he knows who Shauna is and he's not who he says he is, but I'm not sure who I would want him to be. I kinda like the idea of a third brother/son of Coach though.
  13. Ahhhh, that would make more sense! I think Nat's acerbic attitude made me take it the other way. But Nat also firmly believes Travis was murdered, presumably by a human as she hasn't mentioned a supernatural entity and someone drained his bank account, so hmmm, maybe a cult formed and some members brought it back to Jersey when they were rescued?? IDK, so many questions and so few minutes left to get answers!
  14. I know it's unlikely - though, with this show, who knows?! - but I'd love if the season ended on a shot of a grown up, scarred Van. Mostly because I've liked Liv Hewson since I first saw them in Dramaworld and want to keep them around for next season, but also because I think Van would be interesting to see as an adult. I now think Simone is genuine and her previous reactions were the Black woman Spidey-tingle of something is up but can't put her finger on it. She seems sincere in wanting to get help for Sammy and Tai, but she's missing huge chunks of info because Sammy and Tai are keeping secrets (and disassociating.) I think I'm firmly in the no supernatural camp, for now. However, it's not really if there is supernatural stuff happening, it's if the survivors believe there's supernatural stuff happening. What did Travis say Natalie was right about? Something they must have discussed at some point if he felt the need to write it down. And Nat said Travis didn't believe any of that shit, implying she didn't either, so I don't think it was the symbols and candle stuff Travis was referring to. Anyhoo, when the smoke monster appears next week and kills Van, I'll have to reevaluate my thinking, lol.
  15. I lol'd at this. Why yes, Adam, when a women is questioning whether everything you say about yourself is a lie, take her to some unfamiliar cabin, alone, with the guy she doesn't trust. Good plan!
  16. I'll be a contrarian and say I think Yelena would really get into the musical. Souvenirs and all. And then she'd be humming it to herself as she stabbed someone later.
  17. YES! And he is adorable. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54996314
  18. Well that was goddamn delightful. My only criticism - no boomerang arrow?? Come on! But seriously, that was so much fun. And MCU can make Kingpin scary cuz he was terrifying going after Kate. Also, like I believe a single bullet took him down. He'll be back. The gasp I made when Kate smacked Yelena. I'm pretty sure our faces looked the same. FloP was such a great choice for this role, and I look forward to what comes next. I'm glad she hashed it out with Clint and knows that Natasha never stopped thinking and caring about her. And Clint made it home for Christmas. Though there was one brief moment when he was standing outside I thought he'd walk in and find something terrible had happened to his family which didn't make sense with the tone of the show, but I was concerned. Then Nate appeared and everything was fine again. MVP was the Rockefeller owl. I loved that little guy when he was found last year, and I loved that someone thought to include him here. That end credit scene was great. The costumes were terrible, but hey, we don't know what kind of hit Broadway took during the Snap. Budgets may be tight right now. Nice seeing Adam Pascal again.
  19. I think the text said to meet at their usual spot, but I may be misremembering.
  20. May was a casualty of a fight between Green Goblin and Spider-Man. My guess is every encounter with Peter has been erased but they still remember interacting with Spider-Man. It gets handwavey cuz I'm not sure exactly how the memories were altered. Perhaps MJ remembers Spidey swinging her through Midtown but is fuzzy on why?
  21. This is probably too convoluted but now I'm wondering if Taissa is sabotaging/gaslighting herself. Did she write spill on the door and not remember? I don't think she's blackmailing everyone, but I do think Sammy is protecting her in the way kids do. Maybe the postcard triggered her disassociation. Just spit balling here.
  22. So Tai is definitely supernaturally intuitive or a bit precognitive. She's also disassociating. And Lottie is either off her meds, or as was said upthread, a prophet. Now that I know this is a multiple season show and not a limited series I'll temper my expectations of how much will be revealed. I don't think Jeff is having an affair anymore but I do think that convo in the car wasn't the great speech he probably thinks it was. Honestly, if that plane has made it to Seattle it's likely both Jackie and Shauna wouldn't have given Jeff a 2nd thought until they saw him 20 yrs later at their high school reunion. Misty is still a crazy bitch, lol. I'm doing a rewatch and I was starting to think Misty sent the postcards but now I'm thinking she didn't but is super siked this is happening and, as Nat said in ep 1, has found her new purpose. I'm curious if the camp splits perhaps one set was found and didn't mention the others. ETA I mistook young Lottie for young Tai which makes no sense and explains why I was wondering why her hair was so straight. Don't multitask while watching a mystery show!
  23. I really loved that there was no dialogue and everything was in Tobey's eyes. I keep reading that Tobey was wooden, and maybe that's valid, but I thought there was such a genuine sweetness to his Peter in addition to the youth pastor vibes.
  24. I just remembered - what was up with Peter being able to control his astral self? I get that the spidey sense is part of it but he actually got back into his body. That and Ned's natural magic ability were very interesting.
  25. There were so many elements happening here it should have been a disaster but that was amazing (no pun intended.) Just so many good moments! We didn't get the spideys finger pointing meme but we did get back cracking and web fluid talk. I remember so much discussion about Tobey having the web fluid as part of him and how that wasn't in the comics and here we are 20 years later. Dafoe was chewing that scenery and it was great to see him back. Jamie Foxx saying he thought Spidey would be black. Miles is out there somewhere! Andrew is having a great year with Tick Tick Boom and I know how much he truly loved playing Spidey so I'm glad he got that chance again. When he caught MJ...oof I was feeling for him. I will miss Aunt May but I agree he had to have that loss that is personal and he has to feel responsible for. Sadly, it's a core part of who Peter Parker (or as Into the Spiderverse taught - any Spidey) is. We didn't see the deaths of his parents or Uncle Ben so I understand why this happened. And she got to say the great power line which was nice. ETA: A trip to Reddit let me know we DID get the pointing meme (and 2x!) and I'm so bummed I completely missed it. Guess another viewing is in order. 😁
