This is probably too convoluted but now I'm wondering if Taissa is sabotaging/gaslighting herself. Did she write spill on the door and not remember? I don't think she's blackmailing everyone, but I do think Sammy is protecting her in the way kids do. Maybe the postcard triggered her disassociation. Just spit balling here.
-
So Tai is definitely supernaturally intuitive or a bit precognitive. She's also disassociating. And Lottie is either off her meds, or as was said upthread, a prophet. Now that I know this is a multiple season show and not a limited series I'll temper my expectations of how much will be revealed. I don't think Jeff is having an affair anymore but I do think that convo in the car wasn't the great speech he probably thinks it was. Honestly, if that plane has made it to Seattle it's likely both Jackie and Shauna wouldn't have given Jeff a 2nd thought until they saw him 20 yrs later at their high school reunion. Misty is still a crazy bitch, lol. I'm doing a rewatch and I was starting to think Misty sent the postcards but now I'm thinking she didn't but is super siked this is happening and, as Nat said in ep 1, has found her new purpose. I'm curious if the camp splits perhaps one set was found and didn't mention the others. ETA I mistook young Lottie for young Tai which makes no sense and explains why I was wondering why her hair was so straight. Don't multitask while watching a mystery show!

I really loved that there was no dialogue and everything was in Tobey's eyes. I keep reading that Tobey was wooden, and maybe that's valid, but I thought there was such a genuine sweetness to his Peter in addition to the youth pastor vibes.
-
I just remembered - what was up with Peter being able to control his astral self? I get that the spidey sense is part of it but he actually got back into his body. That and Ned's natural magic ability were very interesting.
-
There were so many elements happening here it should have been a disaster but that was amazing (no pun intended.) Just so many good moments! We didn't get the spideys finger pointing meme but we did get back cracking and web fluid talk. I remember so much discussion about Tobey having the web fluid as part of him and how that wasn't in the comics and here we are 20 years later. Dafoe was chewing that scenery and it was great to see him back. Jamie Foxx saying he thought Spidey would be black. Miles is out there somewhere! Andrew is having a great year with Tick Tick Boom and I know how much he truly loved playing Spidey so I'm glad he got that chance again. When he caught MJ...oof I was feeling for him. I will miss Aunt May but I agree he had to have that loss that is personal and he has to feel responsible for. Sadly, it's a core part of who Peter Parker (or as Into the Spiderverse taught - any Spidey) is. We didn't see the deaths of his parents or Uncle Ben so I understand why this happened. And she got to say the great power line which was nice. ETA: A trip to Reddit let me know we DID get the pointing meme (and 2x!) and I'm so bummed I completely missed it. Guess another viewing is in order. 😁

I'm curious and confused about the Kingpin reveal (but still love it.) Yelena was telling Kate Bishop who hired her, which was Eleanor which Yelena thought was something she should know. Did Kingpin just happen to be in the pic? Why would Kate need a pic of her mother to know who it was? Kate immediately asks Clint who the guy is in the pic to which he responds it's the guy he's been concerned about this whole time. But I would think she'd be more concerned about finding out her mom is shady and murdery (by hire) than some random but well dressed dude who's also there. Or should I just repeat to myself it's just a show, I should really just relax?
-
The show's social media is playing up - Will Clint make it home for Christmas? - and I would hope the answer isn't Nope, he's dead. That would be a real bummer of an ending for the tone the show has had. But we'll see. The MCU is teeing up a new generation, though, so I fully expect Kate to be the 'new' Hawkeye and Clint to retire/fake his death/really die. Didn't Ronin disappear after Nat found Clint in Endgame? It was, what looked like, the reappearance of Ronin in NYC that tipped Maya and the TSM off.
-
Yep, it is. Peeps are already showing side by side pics on Twitter. I didn't catch that so that's very cool.

I love Yelena so much and would also like to eat mac and cheese with her. I hope she got to visit all of NY's best tourist spots. Kingpin's back baby! So glad they kept D'Onofrio even if all we got was a blurry picture. Oh Kazi, you're kinda cute, but I don't think you'll be alive at the end of this. And poor Clint. I know he (and everyone everywhere) would rather have Natasha instead of you, but she was always going to win that fight on Vormir if she wanted. I mourn her loss but respect her sacrifice. I really like how some of the D+ shows are showing us what happened when people reappeared after the Snap (sorry, I just can't get on board with Blip). Monica in the hospital in WV and Yelena here in bathroom. And now I really want to see Wong rounding up all the snapped Avengers, with a quick, hey you're back, don't freak out, it's been 5 years, and also we need to go kick this guy's ass right now. Be ready to step through the portal when it appears. Cool? Cool.

Yelena's got tourist attractions to see. She can multi-task an assassination AND visit Top of The Rock. And now I really, really want this interaction to happen.

Kyle Gallner's in this but he didn't get his own poster (had to make one himself lol https://www.instagram.com/p/CXHHmC-OACi/) and I don't see him here so I'm very curious what his role will be.

I know it was for the pregnancy reveal, but I thought Shauna could have just skipped a period due to stress. Mine was like clockwork in high school, but many of my friends weren't so it wasn't a big deal to be irregular. Also, I thought syncing up was a myth? I'm sure I missed it, but do we know how long they've been out there at this point?
-
I liked the first talk between Shauna and her daughter, because it seemed sincere. Then when I found out her kid is still a hobgoblin in the 2nd conversation, I liked that Shauna demonstrated she is perfectly capable of maybe leading a girls soccer team from survivalist to savage. I have no idea what's going on with Sam. The show is still waffling between supernatural and trauma response so I'm not sure what to think yet. Except for Misty. That girl is a stone cold sociopath and Christina Ricci is playing the hell out of her.

That's fair. I'm curious where Val will show up next, or if we'll get surprise JLD in random places. Timeline wise, we were supposed to get her introduction in BW before TFATWS. I think that may be influencing how I'm reading stuff. I do think she sent Yelena after Clint, and likely to kill, but her role in TFATWS clouded that a bit for me. Ah well, we shall see what happens next.
-
I'm not sure at this point what Val wants. I'm sure if [spoiler for FATWS] she wouldn't have lost any sleep, same with Clint, but I don't know if she wants all the Avengers dead or is just creating her own crew.
-
I agree. It definitely felt like a wink to the audience. I also liked that Richard wasn't portrayed as a paragon. He was an asshole a lot of the time, and I hope Aunjanue Ellis gets award recognition because when she read him for filth, I felt that. I suppose the film could have been more explicit about his other kids and the cheating, but it was implied enough that I was fine without that. I see his boastfulness and confidence as something he cultivated from his experience as a Black man in America raising Black kids, especially girls. Did his plan work? Obviously. Would it work for every kid, sport, family? Likely not. But it's an interesting story, and I'm glad it was told.

It's also probably just fans making stuff up. Watch Laura be Mephisto! I also just remembered they still haven't tied the watch to Pizza Dog. Unless he just has a fine appreciation of time wear or there are treats hidden inside for a Good Boy.
-
I just read a theory that the watch I like this speculation and would like more. Thanks.
-
I could see a fake out death allowing Clint to retire in anonymity, but I really hope he's not killed off, and I don't think the show would go there with the tone it's had generally.
-
I thought the casting director just did an excellent job with the resemblance. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXJvWqQOmH2/?utm_medium=copy_link

This was a great episode and a great season. I like S1 but there was some slight tweaking to the kids that I can't pinpoint that made me really love all of them in S2. I kinda couldn't stand Mac in S1 but by mid S2, he was my favorite. I loved all the little nods. And there were some really surprising heartfelt messages portrayed. Well done.

Clint earned his extra time in the ball pit.

Also reminds me of Rogue One and Diego's Luna's character who talks about doing the very dirty work needed to overthrow an oppressive regime. The heroes get to ride in and save the day, but the intel comes from people engaging in questionable, but perhaps necessary activities and willing to work in that grey to black area.

I'm having so much fun with this show. I had a big dorky smile on my face during the car chase scene. I like that the Track Suit Mafia have a moving company front. I'm intrigued by Maya, and I'm thrilled to see how Deafness and hard of hearing is being portrayed. My mom has hearing aids due to age and she hates wearing them and says everything sounds tinny, so I'm constantly asking her to turn things down. I need to be more sympathetic and accommodating. Nice to see Zahn McClarnon, even if only for a few scenes. I also appreciate how it showed Maya beginning her training as a kid like they did with Kate. You're not just born with those skills. Anyhoo, after the angst of WandaVision and the timeywimey all universes may be over in Loki, both of which I really liked cuz I'm easy like that, it's nice to have a smaller storyline with some humor and action for the holidays.

When Taissa's son said she wasn't the "bad one" I immediately thought he was referring to his other mom and she was being abusive. Then, when Taissa had her long contemplative moment, I thought there would be a confrontation, but then she pulled up her opponent's daughter's picture and I realized I read that scene completely wrong. I wonder who/what he's referring to. (I also hope this doesn't go supernatural because I don't think it needs it. There's enough drama as is.)
