  1. Not to mention the conflict of interest inherent in the employee being the potential suspect's sister. It doesn't help that her character got away with murder, but why does Sonequa Martin-Green have such a smug, punchable face in literally every role?
  2. Finally saw the other two as well. Liked the Newhart one the best. The original will always hold a special place in my heart. Saw it first run and I'm pretty sure it was the first TV meta moment I remember seeing.
  3. Huh. I'm clearly in the minority, feeling disappointed by the finale. Not nearly as many belly laughs as usual for me. But maybe if I can find the other two endings somewhere I will feel different.
  4. Sinjina showed real potential, but the desperation was getting uncomfortable to watch. I hate to say it but I'm kind of relieved that she's gone. However, I do want to see her again. I feel for Minhi and her imposter syndrome. Here's hoping she gets a confidence boost from her win.
  5. So the univerally acknowledged lipsync assassin is out on the lipsync challenge. Wouldn't be the first time, but this was an interesting way to go about it. I liked the format here 2 teams best of 3 song/competition order is fixed challenge winner chosen from the winning team winners on the losing team are safe I'd like to see this format continue. I do wonder what would happen if one team just dominated and won the first 3 or 4, and so the last 1 or 2 on each team don't even have to compete. I would imagine the challenge winner is only chosen from the 3 (or 4) team winners the 3 (or 4) losers are up for elimination the 1 or 2 from each team who don't compete are just safe, with no chance at winning the challenge I suspect they won't let that happen if they can help it though.
  6. I think we can take it at face value. I believe Matty put the bracelet (clearly a gift from her daughter in better days) on to remind herself who she's doing these terrible things for, to get herself through it, that the end justifies the means. Her worrying at it through the episode was to demonstrate her conflict and how she had to keep "asking" her daughter, "is it OK for me to be doing these things to get justice for you? Tell me it's OK, tell me this is ultimately right, and I'm doing what you'd want." And it breaking in the end was a symbol of maybe no, her daughter would not want this, that Matty compromising and debasing herself like this is not OK. That it's shifting from justice to revenge and that's not right.
  7. Should he? Did the Vikings know the science behind lightning rods in the 800s?
  8. OMG I LO'd so L
  9. Oh, that's a relief.
  10. He must have whispered it lol. Yet
  11. Didn't her confessional chevron say 43?
  12. Yeah the folks who said La Voix was getting the "she'll be fine" edit were right. And as for final lipsync song choice, Kyran was born to sing "Don't Stop Me Now." I wanted La Voix to win, but I'm not mad about the result. Speaking of songs, I really liked "A Different Winner's Story", I just might download that one. They all killed the choreo, surprisingly. And I couldn't help myself, as soon as the rest of the girls came on, my eyes were glued to Actavia. All told, great season.
  13. Bye Tara, we'll see you again, I'm sure. Wow the indigenous girls tonight. Powerful. Forgot to mention last week, no more head nods. Thank God!
  14. As a true crime aficionado, and especially since hearing about the case of Jane Hurshman and Billy Stafford decades ago, I agree with the concept that women who kill their husbands in self defense at a time when they are not immediately under threat should have a more nuanced assessment of their circumstances. Unless they are extremely lucky (and the vast majority just aren't), women are simply not physically able to defend themselves at the moment they are being abused, often to death. The threat of death against themselves and their loved ones for even thinking of leaving simply must figure in to any "murder" case. That said, the resolution of this case just felt ridiculous. I know I've complained about episodes of this show ending ambiguously too often, but if this is the kind of unambiguous ending they're going to write, please just go back to being vague.
  15. Ah man. I like Releasa but I love Lil, so sorry to see her go. I was really hoping she'd make it to the finale. But it's a good final 4.
  16. Oh Xana. I'm so tired of the queens who go beyond being salty into "let me hurt someone's feelings for the lulz" of it. I'm a bluenoser so it's nice to see a fellow Maritimer. Hang in there Tara you've got it girl.
  17. Am I recalling correctly that his abilities were in evidence even when there were only his other vampire fighter friends around? So he could do it without vampires around. The only way it would make sense to not work on an energy vampire is if the energy vampire actively counteracted Van Helsing DNA. ETA: or if he no longer has the ability since he was turned vampire himself.
  18. I don't see why it should only be available if a vamp were nearby. I don't think we've seen evidence of his vampire-fighter abilities since he became a vampire himself. I wonder if it was eliminated when he died.
  19. So does Guillermo no longer have the Van Helsing strength and reflexes?
  20. Don't hold your breath re: Kitty. Since her weight loss I'm 100% sure Ru wants to see her again somewhere.
  21. Question is, when might Olympia remember that? I suppose if she does, Mattie could position it as a coincidence, wandering around the legal district feeling nostalgic, then finally deciding to come back for real when money troubles got bad, but that's a stretch.
  22. Isaac's of course
  23. Why though? This is inside Jay's head, Marissa isn't dead, she can't project into dreams, and Sass is a smart guy. How could he possibly think he was talking to the real Marissa? I kept thinking he would come to that realization but he never did, at least not in any way that was verbalized.
