  1. I saw that! Another fun moment was after he falls asleep. When Claire gets up, he does that brief "Jamie Sleep Smile" bit of adorableness. Glad they are keeping that in, especially since Bree does it too.
  2. Isn't that his musket ball scar? ETA: I see this was answered before. I'll make this post somewhat relevant by saying that it was nice to see a sexual encounter/evening that felt like something I've experienced in my life. Not certain if it's because it's more geared to the female gaze or it's merely a slightly realistic depiction of sex, but I loved it. Now, if only I could ALSO claim experiencing a virile Highlander warrior! Alas.
  3. The kid playing Eph's son can't act his way out of a paper bag. I don't know if it's the loss of Sean Astin or what, but since then I can't find it in myself to care about this group of COMPLETE ASSHOLES. Master totally disappointed me. Damn, and I was loving this show, too!
  4. Dying a little inside that I can't seem to make the videos play while I'm at work. A sadness.
  5. I REALLY need Terry to have her own podcast. I'm actually getting annoyed at myself for being so annoyed at her dominating the podcasts when she DOES have interesting things to say about costuming. If that makes any sense. Because, honestly, I would listen to podcasts of EVERYONE involved - but they need to be separate due to the wealth of information available. I'm greedy.
  6. NO, NO, NO! Jim, you made terrible decisions but you looked just like Sean Astin! How dare you leave us!
  7. I was initially confused about Colum, too, but then I realized that of course he'd clean up for this occasion - shave and all! I felt for him. It must have been HORRIBLE needing to stand for so long while every male of your clan pledges fealty. He's so stoic. Such a quiet, kind strength to him. I love what Gary Lewis is doing with the character. I also loved Diana's cameo! How perfect was that? Being sweetly told off by Mrs. Fitz was just about as perfect as it gets. Almost as perfect as whenever Jamie finally decides to grace us with his presence. Please, more of that! I need ever more of the Jamie/Claire factor in my life.

    Book 3: Voyager

They might allow Geillis to get fat here, though, since she's an antagonistic character. Bad people are always allowed to be larger before hero characters are. In my totally biased, larger-lady-who-watches-tv opinion. Sigh.
  9. OHMYGOSH. That explains everything! Thank you - I was wondering why I found Mrs. Fitz so familiar. Everything leads back to Doctor Who. :) That isn't a typo, that's a reference to a George McFly malapropism in BttF, I believe! Unless you mean some other typo, in which case I humbly apologize. I watched the episode again today and just love the attention to detail. I, too, thought I heard Jamie say "haggis" a few times while negotiating the punishment. Maybe there is a Gaelic word for fighting or bravery that SOUNDS like haggis? Maybe Jamie and YoungBeard were only planning to meet up after the beating to hug it out over haggis.
  10. I assume Geillis' reputation for witchcraft is what keeps her from being the healer. Knowledge of abortificants wasn't exactly well-regarded in those days. Claire, with her proven knowledge of "useful" medicine would be a good choice. And making her a healer assures that people will always be seeking her out, which will greatly impede her spy career. lol. I, too, was thrown by the CGI legs. They appear too twisted and thin at the ankle to support any weight. Seems if Colum's legs were to that point, he wouldn't be walking around at all. That said, I'm no medical doctor. Hell, I'm not even a witch. :) Aww, why all the Mrs. Fitz hate? I loved her mother-hen attitude. And Jamie... Jamie. We got to see more of his humor this episode AND more of his physique. Win all around!
  11. The only thing I hated about Skyler was how many damned times she had to say "car wash" throughout the series. For some reason it just grated every time she said it in the show! Other than that, I think she was a great and greatly flawed character. The best kind to watch!
  12. I was thinking that Ethan wolfed out this particular time because it was the full moon. He was basically both baiting and trapping the Pinkertons. Pretty genius, if you have the Wolfman card to play, imo. Yes, we all saw the Brona of Frankenstein thing coming but I believe we are supposed to - she's been a coughing skeleton since episode one. Her real arc begins, I hope, now that she'll be reborn and (likely) have much friction with Caliban and company. Lord knows Brona 1.0 would've had no time for all that florid monologuing, so I can only happily look forward to how resistant and fiery Bronenstein will be! I can't decide if The Master will turn out to be sexy-version Dracula or the actual Devil. Either way, I'm in. Also, I thought the priest was being very, very sage when speaking with Vanessa. He has experience; he has seen this before. If Vanessa doesn't want to be 100% normal then she's wasting his time. You can't kick out a demon if you kinda sorta enjoy some of the perks of possession (not the least of which may be a zinger of a martyr complex?). It's SUCH an interesting viewpoint and I look forward to them exploring the motif in season 2!
  13. I initially thought this as well, but it's actually a stuffed lion head. The fact that it looks very wolf-like in the shot could still be a signal, however. Or maybe Ethan's a werelion and/or lionhearted? ETA: I thought this episode drew an interesting parallel between our three (four, including Sembene) guys watching over Vanessa the same way Lord Holmwood (aka Malcolm), Quincy Morris (Ethan), and Dr. Seward (Victor [see also: addiction]) look after Lucy in Dracula.
  14. I don't see him as a young Trent at all. More's the pity for me - I, too, found Trent Reznor hotter than sin back in the day (and still!).
  15. It's also interesting that the demon mostly tells sexual secrets during a time of rampant sexual oppression, though our main characters are somewhat enlightened comparatively.
  16. I like that they have hinted at subverting the "noble savage rescued" trope by intimating Sembane feels responsible for Sir Malcolm and that's why he sticks around. Can't wait to learn more about him.
  17. What a fantastic episode! I loved how Father Matthew seemed to represent the bureaucracy of faith - worrying more about the fine print and less about the soul of a very obviously imperiled person. Interesting.
  18. I love how his character is allowed to be so multi-faceted. Sure, he's Dr. Frankenstein's nightmare, but the pure, boyish glee he has working in the theater is endearing.
  19. I really do think it's the hair. It makes him so...boy-band.
  20. I was dubious about that project at first but I adore Harold Perrineau so I am IN! Also, the trailer looks wayyyy more promising than I ever expected. I hope the show lives up to the trailer!
  21. Red isn't stupid so much as she's not a sociopath. That's how I take it. She can be tough and commands respect but she can make the conscious choice not to lose herself in the prison mindset whereas Vee, Sociopathic Master Manipulator, was born with (arguably) a perfect mindset for prison. Vee is definitely the type that belongs somewhere other than a minimum security prison. She always struck me as more of a Supermax kind of lady.
  22. Laurence Fishburne's reaction to Bee Man made me fall out.
  23. I must be the biggest sicko ever because all I could think during the face-cutting scenes were, alternatively, "Awesome!" and "Verger certainly enunciates well considering he's cut off his lips." Obviously I need to go take a seat over there.
  24. What a pleasant surprise! I keep forgetting I'm watching GoT. I was half expecting a filler episode or two before the Purple Wedding finally played out, so when I realized it was ALREADY HERE it made me giddy. So long, Joffrey! I'll miss you, Jack.
