In Nurie's world she's marrying up. JRod is over the moon because it is a Duggar adjacent. The only thing she has been bred to do is become a wife and mother. It's no different than what the Kellers did with Anna, Esther, and Pris. No different than the Bateses, Caldwells, Swansons, etc. Marrying off their daughters to prominent families is of the utmost importance. If they're happy then it is an unexpected bonus. It is amusing that Anna won't even acknowledge her little brother's engagement though. Although Anna did leave the Keller household when Nathan was 12 so it is quite possible she doesn't have any sort of relationship with him. She seems to be much closer with her in-laws above the rest.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow is too busy making worldly rap music about his horses. Plus he lives openly with his mistress. I'm sure JB and Meech would be 100% out of their element. They might fit in better with Ramzan Kadyrov though and his strict adherence to jender roles.

Jessa must have permanent nerve damage in her back from carrying 19 K&C and Counting On for so long. I wonder if things would have been different for her had Benessa not been such a ratings draw. I would have pegged Jessa to be the vapid IG influencer, not Jinger. Strange how it all plays out.

Bella works in Russian (Белла) because of the -a ending but it isn't a Russian name. There are a couple famous Russian Isabellas but it seems like they were mostly descended from Italians who moved to Russia/the USSR and married Russians. It might be more popular now because they've relaxed the naming laws in Russia. I would be surprised if it was that popular though because the same 10 names have been recycled for girls since the 1700s.

I always thought Jessa would be one and done after pregnancy. She's surprised me with three (and possibly more). Lauren may surprise us all and continue to pop them out. Early fertility doesn't always predict continued fertility. Right now Joe and Kendra are predicted to surpass Michelle. Secondary infertility can happen to anyone for a variety of reasons. Other complications can arise during pregnancy and birth that make pregnancy impossible. Jessa has been lucky so far that she hasn't bled out to the point her uterus is in jeopardy. Shit can go downhill fast. Kendra has been pretty proactive in making sure everything remains a-ok for future births. But you just never know.

Probably just went on Wish and hoped for the best when the ring came from China. Maybe that's why it took so long for them to get engaged! 😱

There are companies specifically doing gender neutral stuff. It's just really pricey. A lot of people were pregnant this year. Yeah... You have to order ahead of time big time. One of my orders almost didn't make it in time for one baby shower. 😬 It's so strange to me because I am not that old and my mom dressed me in a variety of colors. My sister was a "girly-girl" (she wore bows that would rival Felicity Vuolo's) but absolutely refused to wear pink and pastels. My mom had no issue finding clothes for her either. She still refuses to wear pink and pastels and is the biggest "girly-girl" I know. Although I suppose it makes sense from a marketing perspective I suppose. Less choice means not needing a variety of stock on which you could potentially lose money and all that...

I'm predicting a February 14th wedding as well. JRod will be inviting every fundie she can think of. Nurie will have 20 bridesmaids and Jana Duggar will be one somehow. As is tradition. Ma and Pa Keller must be relieved to get Nathan married off before he discovers that there is a secular world out there.

So with one baby down in Bowpalooza 2019 and Jed! 2020 in full force, I've been thinking about how the Duggars treat their children and grandchildren. I think a lot of this has come out of TI's comments about making sure his daughter is still a virgin. I went YIKES. Good way to waste all the goodwill you got from The Masked Singer. Anyway. Jed has only become useful out of the Howlers for JB's political ambitions. JD is useful because he's a pilot. The girls were only useful as long as they could contribute to the household and then TV ratings. Joshley was the golden child during the earlier seasons of 19 K&C and they have no problem keeping him around. The other sons are wandering around aimless it seems. We're seeing a repeat of the next gen copying their parents. Felicity may not be living the life her mom had growing up, but she's being paraded around the way her mom was. Joe and Kendra have popped out another one despite Kendra admitting she was overwhelmed with Garrett. I think we are going to see a lot of parralels between JB and Meech and their kids' married lives as the years go on. Most of the Duggar granddaughters will likely never have the opportunity to do "normal" things. If their parents keep going at this rate, they will have to be married off ASAP so their parents have one less mouth to feed. The grandsons will not get any meaningful education due to a distrust of public schooling. I imagine a few of them will end up like the Lost Boys of the FLDS. It is sad and infuriating. Why is this still acceptable in 2019?

The "I have super sperm" gets used quite often around here now. I don't quite get Deavan. They were probably the most likeable of The Other Way couples. She seems to not know how to carefully curate a social media presence to keep it going. I know they say bad publicity is good publicity but eventually the 90DF gravy train is going to end. They could easily be cut. Although I keep saying that about the Duggars and that seems to keep going...

Yeah. The Jeubs let the older kids get some edumacashun and they left or were kicked out for questioning authority. One even married a Muslim. JB and Meech are having none of that!

I don't think Jed has his GED. I do remember that Josh, JD, Jill, Jinger, and possibly Joe passed theirs. Jana and Jessa didn't. I can't remember about Josiah. We've never heard a peep about Joy on down and whether they passed or not. I know Michelle used to make separate announcements for those who passed in addition to the "Yay no more schooling!" I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even bother with Joy and the rest.

@Late to the party my condolences. It is events like this that really put things into perspective. I am this close to muting my cousin on social media. She veers between fundie-lite and conservative Christian. Got married way too young. Has had multiple pregnancies that ended in miscarriage. As a result her oldest is significantly older than the others. At the very least he has a learning disability, if not other impairments. He has failed multiple grades in school. They thought she would not be able to sustain another pregnancy so Oldest was spoilt rotten. It took 6 years but my cousin was able to carry a pregnancy to term. Other brothers have since followed now that they figured out what is wrong. Oldest is not a fan of his brothers at all. I am watching a real time laundry room breakdown. She posts constantly about how hard it is to parent. How none of the boys get along. How hard it is to do this, how hard it is to do that. And using Bible verses to prove she can become "stronger". I want to type out "You don't need Bible verses guuuuurl. You need an IUD and a good therapist." I feel awful for those boys because the environment is starting to sound downright toxic. Her parents and in-laws used to take the brood when it was too overwhelming but their health is failing and they cannot keep up with multiple children, let alone toddlers, anymore. It is really sad. I feel for those poor boys. I know she will likely have a few more despite everything because that's what God supposedly wants. Ugh.
