In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths
SuprSuprElevated replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
I remember this girl. From back when I used to watch AI, before it got stale and silly. (Okay, sillier) https://www.thewrap.com/nikki-mckibbin-american-idol-finalist-dies-42/ Here with Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini, is Nikki McKibbin. -

Exactly. And you're right, listening to that ill-tuned cat gut screech for any length of time would not be on my list of optional activities. -

No worries! Not upset at all, just sort of rethinking my previous comment. -

I was trying to be judicious. I can't really imagine the right context for putting a faux cocktail in your kids hand for Instagram clicks, all while mocking another family for their equally vapid bs. I'm wondering if BF has visions of being a Kris Kardashian 2.0. -
Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

I did the critter feeding today. Put out apples, cob corn, peanuts in the shell, sunflower & bird seed, suet. Put the birdbath heaters in. Everybody is ready to go... ...for a week or less, lol. -

I know. I pointed it out, and typically I'm not a fan of kiddie cocktails/Shirley Temples etc., because it feels like encouraging adult behavior in children, but I realize it can be harmless in the proper context. Whatever that may be. -

She is reeeaaallly going after the Kartrashians, all the while once again, including her pre-teen daughter in the mocking of adult activity. This B truly has no filter and no shame, and I am doubly glad she's not on my screen any longer. https://www.instagram.com/p/CG8OfJBFF0p/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Having link issues again. Agreed, within reason. The destruction of my home is not within that reason, but I totally get your point. -

I personally haven't heard of that technique, but for me, I'd opt for the professional before they get their furniture arranged and settle in for the winter. -

So from ^that link, the speculation is that BF is cavorting with the husband of a biggie newswoman, with speculations by commenters as being either Nora O'Donnell or Savanah Guthrie. NO's hubs is Geoff (ugh Geo not Je) Tracy, an author, theologian, chef, restauranteur (hmm..), 46 yrs old, married 2001 SG's hubs is Michael Feldman, a public relations and communications consultant and a former Democratic political adviser. 52 yrs old, married since 2014 If I were betting, I'd go with Mr. Tracy. -

Sorry about the job. I have limited experience with recruiters, but what I do have isn't positive. Like you, no follow up, not feedback on interviews (they obvs don't want us contact the employer directly, so we have to rely on them). It is indeed frustrating. Hope it goes up from here for you. -

Banning useful equipment won't eliminate the asshole quotient. People will find other ways to be jerks. -

I'll assume this is satire. -
Maybe because Americans seem to do everything bigger, but these eclairs looked puny to me, and about as unappetizing as they could be (which may not be fair as I dislike just about any and all filled pastries). I'm with whomever posted ^upthread about architectural bakes. For the most part, I find them unnecessary and usually, unsuccessful. I can however, appreciate the difficulty in finding unique challenges for a show in it's 11th season. I too was surprised at Laura's Star Baker award. I was sort of thinking it would be the dark haired fellow, whose name I can't recall. I don't understand the desire to decorate with macarons. When they've been used on this show, it seems like they have overwhelmed the design.

We have a friend who hails from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Canada lite), and they were a staple of his upbringing. He made them for us a couple of years ago. They were dreadful. Dry, bordering on hopelessly dry. I've noticed that (if this show is a true representation) British bakes are often stuffed, or laden with fruits, nuts, etc. My tastes go the other direction as a rule; more simple I guess. All of that said, I looove watching! Posted before reading all of the UP comments. So, it is a thing with Yoopers~ Laura got a handshake, can't recall which challenge.

I've posted the link to an article written about some of the things you mention, in the Media thread.
