  1. Thanks for clarifying Vern’s talk with the detective — I didn’t remember that level of detail! They have an easier out for Dee than I remembered. Otto becomes the new Isabel? I can see that happening! A consigliere. I haven’t reconciled if Rita and Alma can co-exist. Not long before we find out!
  2. It was in the the 8th episode. Mrs. Yost’s nephew showed up and was talking to Dee about the things missing from Mrs. Yost’s house (that Dee knew her Mom took) and that the police told him whomever had the stuff probably was responsible for her disappearance. He left, and Dee started sneaking the items back into the house, but then he returned unexpectedly and all but Dee caught red-handed. There’s a call back in this episode (I’m presuming.) When Dee set her drinking glass on the bar, someone picked it up and ran off. I think it was the nephew getting a sample of Dee’s fingerprints to match against the items she returned to Mrs. Yost’s home, which will put the Dee directly in the crosshairs.
  3. The DC couple: The episode was hard-up for drama. I laughed when he grouched the one place was 45 minutes from his parents, but he wasn’t worried about an hour commute for her work. Does anyone ever not take the new build?
  4. Apparently they’ve already recorded S4! Article says it was filmed back-to-back with S3. Some other tidbits, but nothing earth shattering.
  5. Same! She and Rita have both remade their lives, and they had that moment of understanding in the kitchen way back when. I’d like to see Rita get her mojo back, and she and Alma team-up to pillage and plunder. Not binge watching a show I really like has been hard.
  6. They stopped oiling the horses? Which is fine, as long as the contestants going head-to-head have the same level of difficulty. The bookies won’t be happy. 😉 Too bad they paired Jack up against the pro golfer. I’m glad he won, but I would’ve liked to have seen more than just two putts from her. For some reason I was thinking last night about the number of swimming pools they use: Porta-potty, pop corn, and jousting look like they’re played on the same course with different hazards in place. The fish game has the same narrow lane to run across, jusr starting from the other side. I remember reading they film a season’s worth of play on each hole all at once, but they’d still have to fill it once with the sponge corn, again with regular water, and also with sludge. Is there a different pool(s) for the other water hazard games? Is that why they play at night so the crew can spend daylight hours setting up the new holes? So many questions.
  7. Yikes! I'd figured Bertram as dead man walking a while ago, but I didn't see that happening. Vern is there to warn Alma thinking Bert was to cause for the deaths, I'd guess. I have no idea where he'll land in his morality play, but I hope he picks Dee. (He was wearing a colorful burgundy and gold, tie. Does this mean he has a little bad in him? The detective he met with at the diner was wearing a blue and silver tie.) I wish they'd introduced the nephew earlier -- having him come in the last moment to be a threat (the ultimate threat?) is convenient. I wonder if Grace's exit was symbolic of decent people abandoning Alma or if she'll be drawn into the muck and is off to plot revenge? Laughed at the Drunk Bert and Maisie. She was funny (and I'd bet Bert's subconscious allaying his guilt. In life she was elderly and sick. In death he brought her youth and joy.) Not Scooter!
  8. Three weeks have passed and Alma, now very comfortable with her position in the Garden Club, decides to run for the vacated presidency. With Isabel's demise, Rita is freed from jail and Bertram grows more guilt-ridden and depressed, while Vern pursues the truth.
  9. I noticed yesterday and today that Virgin River is the #1 show on Netflix. << insert reaction here >>
  10. Teddy’s wedding vows crack me up every time. “And the lovemaking. What can I say about the lovemaking.”
  11. For me it kinda boils down to this: "Yes, I got my Bachelor's at East Texas. It was the only school my mother would allow me to attend when I was 11. Remind me, how old were you when you got your doctorate? I got my first PhD at 16."
  12. The strings tighten! I liked this one because the story is getting more tense as we move toward the end game. I like the shorter series like this -- they can be over-the-top, and none of it has to make sense for more than a couple months. It's not like Lost or Desperate Housewives where the plots devolve into glop.
  13. I want to make certain I’m not spoiled. See you on the other side!
  14. Minimum monthly contribution is $5. Prime has a 7-day free trial for Masterpiece if you want to watch 4, and S1-3 are included with just Prime. Just finished the first episode. PBS has it available until 7/25. Glad it's back! I should probably rewatch S3 bc I don't really remember anything that happened that Cassie's dealing with now. I'm with @leighdear. It's 3 months for GBP125,000! They even offered to give her a cushy assignment. I wouldn't have put the timeline together, @AZChristian!
  15. It was episode 4 about 8:30 left to go in the episode. Jack (and Brie) decorated the path and the pond with tea lights. Thanks! I thought she said she’d been raped 6 months before which didn’t make sense that she didn’t know, which was why I thought it was Brady’s. Six months was when they started dating. I don’t remember if anyone ever said how long they’d been broken-up. Are we to presume Preacher is dead? I can’t figure out a scenario where they drugged but didn’t kill him, and he’s still missing the next day. Drugs should’ve worn off by then if he were alive?
  16. The Charmaine and Lizzie characters make this show virtually unwatchable for me. They’re not even villains you love to hate, and I don’t think Lizzie is supposed to be a villain, just a really immature young woman. The BF isn’t much better. Charmaine, phoning Jack: Hey, Jack. Do you have a minute? Jack, breathing hard with exertion: Not really. Can I call you back? C: No, it’s an emergency. My fiancée, whom I’ve known for 3 weeks, doesn’t like my dog. SCENE Did we know Brie existed? I barely remember S1-2. But of course within 3 weeks she met her brother’s nemesis and then got pregnant by him and miscarried his baby. Chloe: When Tara (?) and Mel were talking in the nursery they showed a crib with the mattress lowered a bit, but it was still too high for a kid who can stand. (Then there was a continuity error bc when she sat in the rocking chair it became a changing table.) 3 seasons have covered how long? Has Mel had to renew her contract yet? So we’re at less than a year? Mel decided to be inseminated — and had the procedure — in the few days she and Jack were on a break, and she was back visiting her sister? Nice DUH DUH DUH ending with Mel using words that will make Jack think she cheated on him. Much better than Season 2!
  17. Omg. I repeated what I read somewhere else and hadn’t fact-checked it. I’m sorry to spread false info. This is great news! Thank you for the correction!
  18. LOVED this episode. From Rita being jailed and everyone turning against her to Bertram and Alma’s stand-off to a very real surprise threat, I was laughing or smiling most of the episode. There might be someone out there who won’t like it. But probably not. 😉
  19. Newly widowed, Rita’s elation is short-lived when Catherine questions her innocence in Carlo’s death, much to Alma’s delight. Dee introduces her parents to Vern at a dinner with multiple shocking revelations.
  20. I’m disappointed with this season. The new games don’t really excite me, and they’ve moved further into the “Fear Factor” brah realm. Sludge pool by the port-a-potties? An impossible leap across a mud pit? I’m waiting for them to go full-on “Wet Tshirt Contest” and be done with it already.
  21. Did I miss them moving Mrs. Yost? The gardeners were replacing the destroyed plants and should’ve found her, no? Another example of how Alma has changed, though, not doing her own gardens. I liked the payoff of Carlo using the exercise ball to strengthen his grip. I figure Alma will be in Vern’s photos. Is he her next victim? Only two episodes left!
  22. That priest isn’t doing anyone any favors. It’s the 2nd time he’s offered Bertram blanket absolution. For some reason I wonder if Rita destroyed Alma’s garden or if it were someone else. If Rita were so confident that no one would believe Alma, why would she feel the need to cut up the flowers? That’s a bit risky if she were to be seen. Thinking of people with motives, there’s the other woman in the club who’s having an affair. Plus we haven’t had any payback from Mrs. Yost’s family. Then there’s the Niece whose aunt Bertram was planning on killing. So Dee’s pregnancy interferes with Scooter’s seduction of Catherine, and makes Rita hate them even more. I feel badly for the PI. I don’t want him to lose another love.
  23. Rugby player wasn’t the best putter but by avoiding the penalty stokes she brought it home. Good for her. She should be tough to beat in the finals. ETA: I don’t get the matrimony hole. Is one couple getting engaged the pay-off?
  24. I muted Holey Moley mentions on social media last summer to avoid spoilers when I couldn’t watch the finale in real time, and then I forgot to unmute, so the new season was a surprise when I opened Hulu yesterday. Glad it’s back!
  25. Unanimous: So long twerking woman. It wasn’t funny or cute or endearing. Way to go, Jose! No Professional Mini Golf franchise for Boston. Lol. Stephen Curry does the deadpan as well as Rob and Joe. I didn’t like Hole No. 2 last year, and now they’ve made it gross and doubled down with the popcorn hole. Several not good putters this episode. Are they going for the characters before the talent already?
