  1. She even beats out Monica for me, and I didn't think that anyone was capable of stealing that #1 slot from Monica, prior to being "introduced" to Annmarie. She's getting to be like Sophia from The Golden Girls. She probably carries it around with her when she is alone, in her own home.
  2. Overly large and SHINY forehead. I get oily sometimes, too. Dust a little powder on that shit, just ONCE, please! 😧
  3. You may have been referring to something else, but this is my reaction to comments that older women should cut their hair. I plan to have my hair long hair for as long as it grows!
  4. I was taken aback by this too. Especially because she is treating Sutton like she treats her sisters: terribly! However--and I'm not defending Kyle, because I cannot stand her--I later thought that she may have meant "Don't flatter yourself like you are so much younger than me" because Sutton said Kyle treated her like a *little* sister. (And I was surprised to find out, via a Google search, that Sutton is actually younger than Kyle.) Yes! I laughed so hard at the reaction shot they cut to, of Dorit and Erika, when Garcelle blurted out at dinner what she thought of Kyle's ring. But I'm sure they probably weren't even reacting to that, with the way the editing is. HA! She also had that TH last season, when she was dressed like her, with the bitcoin brooch at her collar. Haha! I love this callback!
  5. I was thinking Sutton should be more worried about what the Ballet Association thinks about her table manners during that poor attempt at using chopsticks! Call me basic, but I say if you cannot properly maneuver chopsticks, just use a fork! Probably better than shoving a finger in her mouth and fishing it out 🤷‍♀️
  6. Thanks! I thought that was Hannukah on Rye--which I enjoyed--but there have been a few of the Hannukah movies that I have liked, so I wasn't positive if that was the one I was thinking of. Regarding Niall Matter, I had forgotten that I actually did enjoy him in one of his more recent (non-Christmas) movies Rip in Time. That one kind of made me rethink my opinion that he was boring, as I found him surprisingly charismatic in that role. I think his role in the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries is the reason for my thinking he was a boring actor. He didn't have much chemistry with Candace Cameron Bure...not that I can blame him, as I would find it hard to feign love for her, also.
  7. I wasn't sure if I was going to give this one a go or not--because I find Niall Matter to be kind of boring--but I love You've Got Mail, so I will check it out. If memory serves, wasn't Hanukkah on Rye also similar to You've Got Mail?
  8. Ms Christmas Comes to Town: Barbara Niven is wonderful as always. Her sidekick/replacement, though, was a total asshole the entire time. She was really getting on my nerves. It’s hard to believe Brennan Elliot’s character would fall for her, he was a pretty nice guy— not the typical sarcastic guy they would normally pair with this type of female lead. Not to mention she looked like she had drawn her brows on with a Marks-a-lot. Not to be totally superficial here, but she also had an ugly and unflattering shade of dishwater brown hair going on, to match her ugly personality. A lot of the hairstyles were distracting, in fact! Ms. Christmas’s love interest had a bizarre hair color that matched his Olive-toned skin almost exactly. At least Brennan’s bad hair got addressed in the script, when they gave him a trim. He pulled off a red tailored suit pretty well though. 🔥 Then—in that same scene—Ms. Christmas gifts the rude woman a new outfit, and we are all supposed to be awestruck about how “great” she looks. She did not look great. It did make me wonder if Ms. Christmas actually likes her as much as she leads on, gifting her such a terrible outfit. Overall, the movie kept my attention, but wasn’t great (not that I expect greatness from HM), and could have maybe been better if they’d cast a more likable actress as Brennan’s love interest.
  9. I actually didn't feel like the blonde friend even necessarily had a crush on Chris anymore-- at least not in the way the movie was described as leaning into the love triangle trope. And as far as the blonde getting a love interest, I almost felt like they were going to have her end up getting romantically involved with the popular girl that she was hanging out with throughout the movie.
  10. I guess I’m a simpleton, because I actually enjoyed Never Been Chris’d and I thought Tyler and Janell had good chemistry. I liked the friendship between the girls. Like some others though, I did think that Chris was going to turn out to be an asshole, and that neither girl would end up with him. I’d have been fine with that, too. Seems to be the unpopular opinion, but I liked it overall. I was happy to catch The Christmas Secret today, which is one of my absolute favorites! I love that it’s a little darker, in tone, for HM, but such a happy ending that always makes me smile…And tear up a little, not gonna lie!
  11. I'll see what I can do! I'm curious, too.
  12. Funny, this week, I found out that Bruce is from West Warwick, Rhode Island--my hometown--and went to high school with one of my friends.
  13. I feel like the styling-inspo for the character of Harold had to be Darlene's bf David from Roseanne.
  14. Thanks for clarifying @paulvdb. I thought we'd get more than one this Friday. Maybe I will wait to watch episode 5 then, so I can spread them out a bit more.
  15. I'm enjoying this way more than I thought I would! Sat down to watch the first episode last night and ended up watching the first 4. I like the teenage actors and their storylines; I'm liking the whole A Nightmare on Elm Street/"What did the parents do?" storyline; LOVING Justin Long in this role. As a reader of the Goosebumps (and Fear Street) books when I was a kid in the 90s, I approve! Growing up, I liked the old show, but in revisiting it as an adult, it is a little cheesy. I think this is very well done, and much darker than I was expecting. I'm in! Excited to get home and watch the 5th episode tonight, and to get more on Friday!
  16. Ugh-- totally agree re: that Journey song. One day, I was saying the same thing to my coworker, when it was playing at work. My boss came in and overheard, and said "I don't think they play it too much..." I wanted to say "Well, you're wrong. Do you live under a rock?" 😄
  17. That whole scene was really hard to watch. Between the two of them, the vocal fry/valley girl "accents" were unbearable. It has to be exhausting to talk with that affectation all the time! It sounds like it hurts! They are ridiculous humans. And the way that he called her the best Mom ever (or something like that), and the way she replied was confusing. I couldn't figure out if there was underlying sarcasm. It was all very strange. Made stranger by the fact that he was driving around wearing ski goggles, because he's just crazy like that, you guys! Gag me. This whole post was spot on, and CRACKING ME UP! But the huzzbin vwoumas really sent me over the edge 😄 Thank you! Sideshow freaks, indeed! I was looking at Angie in that ridiculous getup, just shaking my head. She looks like such a parody. Like my girl Luann says, money can't buy you class (I'll add, or taste). If my grandmother left me her husband in her will, I would consider myself still in active trauma. Barf.
  18. Angie’s Terminator sunglasses are dumb. Mary has some nerve calling out Heather’s necklace, with how she dresses half of most of the time! I did like her skirt but not the jacket that almost dropped into the pizza. And she was concerned about chip crumbs falling on her a few episodes ago. I love Whitney’s daughter’s hair color. Superficial, I know, but that’s all I’ve got for now.
  19. Also, Angie you don’t look like a pit bull, but you look like either of these Addams women. (Forgot I had a few minutes left to finish of this episode)
  20. I use Clara as an example, but it is a lot of words like that. Don't want to get in trouble for getting too off topic, but the one I struggle most with is when they use the A sound like in the word "Bat" with a name like Anna. Instead of saying Ann-a they say Ahh-na. My mouth is seriously incapable of forming the word like that!
  21. I know I'm late, but was catching up on some posts, and wanted to weigh in on this. I am from Rhode Island, but have lived in Pennsylvania for the last 10 years. I run into this a lot. For instance, my niece Clara. Everyone here says Clair-a. Since her parents pronounce it like that, I've tried to adapt, but in the beginning I always said Clah-Ra, with the first A being like the A sound in the word "bat". I think you're right that it is a regional thing.
  22. Hee! When I just Googled the image to show you, I was laughing just the same as I was the first time I'd seen the comparison, myself.
  23. I once saw someone compare Mary to this, and now I can't not see it when Mary is on my screen and "dressed up". Yes, I do love a good costume party! Yes, they appreciated it-- I won a prize for Best Acting, thank you very much!
  24. Just getting caught up, so sharing some general thoughts on the season so far, and then about this episode. I lurk a lot, on many forums of this site, occasionally posting. But I always enjoy posting most with you all, on the HWs forums when a new season is upon us! 🥰 I am glad Mary Cosby is back. I am not an ally of hers, by any means! I enjoy her BECAUSE she’s a crazy, cult-leading, grandpa-fucking weirdo, not in spite of it! I really cannot stand Meredith “don’t insult my bathtub” Marks. Her voice grates, and the fact that her face doesn't move when she talks adds to it! Lisa Barlow has grown/is growing on me! She was my least favorite in the beginning! This has happened to me with other HWs from other franchises though, where I hated them one season, and then grew to like them the next, or vice versa. Meredith I never liked, but I didn’t like Lisa more. Now I can’t stand Meredith at all, and don’t mind Lisa I don’t think Heather looks bad in the TH wearing the Gucci zip-front tube top. However, her new face has its problems. In fact, I agree with the rest of you that have been commenting their faces look different in every scene and TH! It’s creepy and disconcerting! And Monica is giving me Jennifer Aden(sp?) vibes. Hope she doesn’t go to Whoville for a nose job after seeing herself on TV, though. I don’t mind Whitney. I wish she wouldn’t talk through her nose all the time, but I like that she is willing to stir shit when needed, in an entertaining way (for me). This episode, I don’t get why Lisa couldn’t just have her glam person do her foundation and concealer if she is uncomfortable on camera without makeup, then the drag makeup artist could add to it. I’m not a dog without makeup, but I have adult acne and acne scars that I prefer to conceal majority of the time, to the point that I don’t typically leave the house without a touch of concealer. (I don't go with the full face of it that I have in my profile picture , or anything like that😉) Or if it’s a quick Dunkin drive-through run on the weekend, I’ll go with no makeup and big sunglasses, but usually it’s a No for me going out without some makeup--due to my own insecurities--and I’m not on TV. So I get it. But she could have just had her glam person do a quick natural makeup before she left her room, and not be dramatic about it! I think being made into a drag queen by a famous drag queen would be a blast! Lighten up Lisa. Meredith looks more like a drag queen in her THs, or on a casual walk with Lisa, a few episodes ago, than she did in her drag outfit this episode!! Mary didn’t put much drag effort either, but it’s Mary. She hasn’t put effort into anything so far, she’s just there for comic relief I think, and I’m fine with that. I was happy Monica won the Trixie award because of her commitment to the role! I was recently a part of a murder mystery party, where the game was set in Italy. I took inspiration for my character “Angel” (she was the daughter of the murdered Italian patriarch) from Teresa Guidice/The Nanny/one of Joey Tribiani’s sisters. 😂 We’re talking leopard top buttoned down to exposed red bra, leather skirt, fishnets, giant gold hoop earrings that said “Baby Girl”. I was committed to the role—talking like Teresa/The Nanny and everyone loved it. Monica deserved it! She had a fun look and a got into the role. On to the next episode!
