  1. I’m pretty much the same. Without getting into bitch vs Jerk territory, because this is more a reflection on their relationships nature than the boys themselves, after watching a series of events which include Dean forcing possession on Sam or Sam knowingly condemning thousands to death, through breaking the mark, “their bond” is my least favourite thing about the brothers. Since theyre meant to be the heroes of this show then I want to see them be heroic! I don’t want to see them grossly violating each other or condemning thousands to death out of a selfish need to save one man who happens to be important to them. I think I tolerated the less positive aspects of their relationship when the show began because I had hopes that the character would grow and become more healthy, but alas that ship sailed long ago.
  2. Honestly, I think people are massively overreacting. Sam and Dean are trapped in another world, which seems to be pre-historic and thus presumably lacking in resources. They aren’t dimensional travelling experts. They’ve been to two that I recall, the first transported there by Balthazar and the second Jack accidentally opened. So them needing help out of that one? Not all that surprising. The Wayward girls in our world at least have access to bunker resources and lore. at least they aren’t being rescued from vampire hunt 200.
  3. Major unpopular opinion. I used to be a big fan of the brotherly bond (although I’ve never shipped Wincest), but I’d say I’ve been watching the show since season 8 in spite of the brotherly bond.
  4. I strongly agree with this! Id further add due to the messed up and consuming nature of the “brodependency” I don’t see either Sam or Dean ever being able to function in a long term romantic relationship. They’d never be able to give their partner the dedication needed to make such a relationship work.
  5. 1) The show returns next week - Thursday 18th 2) Episode 10 (next week’s) is the back door pilot. It will feature the entire spin off cast + Sam and Dean. Episode 11 will then be the Donna episode and AFAIK won’t feature any of the other Wayward Cast members.
  6. I was browsing the spoiler sheet and according to it the appearances that we know of so far are Misha - 10* (8 eps speaking) (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,12,13, 14,16) Alex - 7. (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 14) Mark - 5. (1, 2, 7, 12, 13) My guess is Misha won't appear after episode 16 until episode 23. I think it'll be the same as last year where the latter half of the season was very Castiel lite. For reference he appeared in 12x15, 12x19 and 12x23. He may show up around 13x19 to bring his appearances up till 12 but that's about it. I think the latter of the season will be very Lucifer and Jack heavy. I'm anticipating Alex and Mark will both in episodes 21-23 as a fundamental part of the end of season mytharc. Since that would only bring Mark's known appearances up to 8 he must also appear in at least two of episodes 15-20 to bring him up to the bare minimum of 10 appearances for a regular.
  7. The title A Holy Man makes me think the episode is going to be about Dean (somehow his role as 'the righteous man' will come into play again) or it is going to be about a new character. I really don't think the descriptor "a holy man" really fits any of our current main cast otherwise.
  8. On a slightly related note... What do you see the main cast doing once Supernatural ends / their time on the show comes to an end. Jensen ~ I think he'll stay in the field of entertainment though. While there is a good chance he will choose to continue acting I think he could just as easily switch to directing instead. I am basing this on the fact he has directed several Supernatural episodes and spoke of how much he enjoyed it and the fact he is said to have previously looked into roles with large names companies like Marvel. Jared ~ Based on Jared's recent comments I doubt he will be a regular in a tv show again or holds enough ambition to try his luck at gaining roles on the big screen. I think Jared will likely spend large amounts of time at home and work on side projects such as more wine lines, occasionally guest starring when the urge to dip back into acting strikes, and charitable projects such as AKF. I am basing this on his recent comment about not wanting Misha ~ Like Jared I think Misha will bow out of the world of entertaining when the show ends. He may do the occasional guest appearance, but for the most part he'll likely become a full time philanthropist and dedicate himself even further to numerous charitable causes. I am basing this guest on the fact when asked about directing Misha has stated he has chosen not to do so again as he didn't have the time due to his work on things such as YANA and GISHWHES. This suggests to me that his charitable work is a higher priority to him than advancing in the world of entertainment. Alexander Calvert ~ I really don't follow Alexander outside of the show so I honestly have no idea if he has said anything about his future plans. Considering he is still quite young and has been acting for several years already I'm going to assume he intends to continue post Supernatural. I wish him the best as I feel he has done an excellent job of making Jack a sympathetic character. Mark Pellegrino ~ I think his career will return to how it was before he became a regular on Supernatural. Lots of one off guest appearances and the odd recurring role there and there.
  9. In All in the Family during her confrontation with Dean, while he was trying to stall her so the others can rescue Casifer she states "Where are your thoughts? Something's different." So she obviously must have been able to get inside Dean's thoughts prior to Chuck protecting her from him. So while I wouldn't go as far as to say she definitely sensed Dean's internal conflict with regards to Mary I would say she could have. I assume you are referring to Swan Song? At that point, outside of Lucifer and Michael themselves, there were two archangels - Gabriel and Raphael. Gabriel was dead while Raphael was still alive to aid Michael if needed. Raphael was not killed by Godstiel until two years after these events (following the year skipped between seasons 5 and 6 and the events of season 6 itself) If John died at the hands of Azazel only Mary didn't make the deal then perhaps Mary's later reaction later mirrored John i.e. she dedicated the rest of her life to Azazel's destruction and he allowed her to live until she became a genuine threat to his plans? Perhaps she found an alternative Colt? Of course this is purely speculation as
  10. I suppose that could work, but IMO the only way a transfer of crew could work is if a spin off started the year after SN finished. For instance next year Wayward Sisters will have to hire an entire new crew for their show as the people involved in Supernatural will be busy with Supernatural. I would imagine Kim, Brianna etc wouldn’t be keen on seeing many of the people they worked with throughout season 1 fired so that the SN crew could take over the position for season 2 and beyond.
  11. could definitey see something like that being the case! If it’s true J2 feel a sense of responsibility to the crew (have they ever actually said this, or is it fan speculation?) then a successful spin off could be a perfect solution for them. The existing crew (props etc) could transfer to Wayward and continue work there allowing J2 to leave without the guilt of leaving friends out of work. One problem with this is the fact both shows are airing concurrently and in separate areas to one another. It would be difficult (if SN has a shorter season) to impossible (if it has a full season) for the crew to work both shows meaning Wayward would have to bring in people of their own. What happens to those people when SN ends and it is time to transfer the SN crew to Wayward? Do those who were there when the spin off started get fired? That seems an awful move to me!
  12. I’m going to reply in the Superacting thread since we are speculating on their future and the shows just to be safe :)
  13. Aside from the fact I personally don’t believe the show would survive either J leaving, havent they explicitly stated on several occasions they have agreed to leave the show together?
  14. I always thought that Dean referred to them as “junkless” as a form of mockery. i cant actually recall it ever being confirmed (to be later retconed) that the vessels of angels would be unable to behave in a sexual manner whilst possessed. Of course angels in their true form would have no “junk” as they’re just wavelengths of Celestial Intent according to Cas. I have always thought that both brothers would lack the ability to truly invest in a long term relationship. They’re too wrapped up in each other emotionally and the lifestyle they live to give someone else the commitment they’d need for a relationship to work.
  15. I’m fine with them being close friends since that’s been a long term part of the show and would be odd if lost. I just don’t want to see it turn into something romantic. If they wanted Cas to have an other half (which I doubt they ever will tbh) Id rather he be with someone who’d put him and their relationship first, which isn’t something Dean is capable of. Any romantic partner would always play a distant second fiddle to his brotherly relationship with Sam.
  16. I was joking about the resurrected Jo thing! Well kinda... I was joking about Dean / Jo specifically, but I was kinda serious about the “hate shipping” if you want to call it that. When I become invested in a character in order to ship them with someone I have to like their other half also. I’m not going to enjoy a ship if I dislike one half of the pairing, I’m just not. So yeah I wouldn’t want to see Dean (someone I don’t overly like) enter a romantic relationship with someone I love (Castiel) or quite like (Donna). I’d rather characters I’m not invested in/fond of entered a relationship with another character I’m not invested in so I can pretty much ignore that ships existence. It is easy to just ignore and skip scenes with a pairing I dislike both members of equally than a pairing with a character I do care for and a character I don’t.
  17. Going to reply in Unpopular Opinions since this isn’t the thread for this :)
  18. They havent. That was why Brianna said in the interview she’d love for the two of them to meet due to how different they are and the comedy that could create. I was just joking. Although Donna’s bouncy personality and Cas’ more stoic one would definitely create an interesting contrast haha. And Dean can have a resurrected Jo. I used to dislike the ship back when I liked Dean since I’ve always disliked Jo, but now... I’m good with those two getting together ;)
  19. Or give us Cas/Donna.. Brianna seems into it LOL
  20. Rewatched this one last night and the death of Eileen is still gross and horrible :(
  21. That video was awesome! Since I’ve been rather disappointed by how little Cas/Jack we’ve got after last season falsely setting Cas up as his “guardian” good to see it looks like they’ll be in at least one more episode together!
  22. IMO there are two way of looking at events. 1) There is what I call the meta approach i.e. we the viewers judge the events as a story / artistic endeavor and praise and criticize the elements of it they agree or disagree. While I am happy with the way events played out on this level I can see where fans like yourself are coming from. I would agree had the writers chosen to approach the scenario differently and had Dean come up with a plan to let say yes to Michael in order to influence him from the inside it would not be out of character. I feel the way they approached it is also in character, but your preference could have worked. 2) There is what I call the textual approach i.e. where we judge the actions of the characters from an in story perspective i.e. in canon verse Sam and Dean don't know they're characters on a show and from their perspective they're 'real' people. It is from this perspective I completely and utterly disagree with you and others with a similar viewpoint. While at a meta level the writers could have written Dean with a master plan the fact is IMO they didn't and there is nothing from Dean to suggest this was the case. Therefore, Sam, Bobby and Castiel were reacting to what was happening in 'their lives' and not 'what could have been happening'. I've seen fans criticizing the characters, rather than the writers, for their choices and treating Dean with a double standard. IMO, as I outlined to @ILoveReading, they didn't. What Sam proposed (i.e. they save pretty much everyone by using the horse mans rings to jump into the cage) and what Dean proposed (go with the angel's plan and save half the planet) are two different things and understandably garnered two different responses. In addition to this, their attitudes were completely different. Sam made it clear from the start he wanted to stop the angels plan in addition to Lucifer and promised not to do so unless he gained approval from the entire group. Dean, on the other hand, just declared he was going against everything they'd spent months fighting about and there was nothing they could do to stop him. Two totally different attitudes which again understandably garnered two different responses.
  23. Sorry, I should have clarified. I mean if the spin off is picked up to series it is destined to flop from the start due to the fan base issues I mentioned :). I’d agree with you the ratings will probably remain around the 0.5 - 0.6 mark for the Backdoor pilot.
  24. I’ve said it before but the spin off is doomed to fail because large portions of the SPN fandom aren’t receptive to a spin off, any spin off. The bi-bro fans who watch just for the brothers, the Dean girls who watch just for Dean and the Sam girls who watch just for Sam take and therefore won’t watch something without their favourite(s) in it take up too large a portion of the audience between them for it to work.
