  1. What don't people get? This is NOT SPN, this is The Winchesters, set in the SPN Universe. It's not SPN season 16 or SPN Season 0. Dean was his own person too. SPN was Dean and Sam's story. But Dean's allowed to exist outside and do things without Sam. The Winchesters is John and Mary's story, with a touch of the future involved in the presence of Dean and whatever mystery he is trying to solve. There is no reason Sam needs to be involved in this though I suspect he may have something to do with the over all story but his presence isn't necessarily needed. It's a prequel taking place before either of them are born.
  2. Don't know whether it was his idea specifically, probably was, but he was SUPER excited about it. It was the first thing they decided before anything else, they were going to kill Dean in the finale and they thought it was the bestest idea ever. It sounds like they were downright giddy about it from what they've said.
  3. Jerri is in the new Queer as Folk so while she will probably be back I assume that's why she'll be off investigating on her own for a while, to film the other show, but I like Lindor and Cassie, I don't know, I think they're cute together. I wouldn't mind if she got together with Beau though, if they don't make him and Jenny a thing. Luckily Jensen Ackles has got good chemistry with both leads. Unless he really is still stuck on his ex wife and they make that his storyline next season.
  4. I haven't quite caught up so unfortunately am not clear on all the names but they said they were going to the paramedic's house. The paramedic who was supposed to be transporting, oh I forget his name, Rick's brother to the hospital had stopped showing up for work. Now as we saw in 2.13, it was actually a syndicate guy transporting him so he could kill him, so basically the syndicate had killed the real paramedic and replaced him with their henchman. (I watched the last few episodes first then went back and started from the beginning but only got up to 1.6 before 2.18 aired so I don't really know what happened in the middle yet)
  5. SO MUCH STUFF doing the overseas PR, and the premier going on right now in Paris. I'd post some of it but I'm at work.
  6. I didn't mind Carver, I consider him the second best showrunner.
  7. They don't even have a real canon to work with because of Dabb and Co. "Here we are" IMO is a great place, it looks like they will be creative and imaginative and I have no doubt that when it's all over EVERYTHING "canon" will still be in place. Seems some people want SPN 2.0 but it's not. It's set in a different time, the characters have different experiences(which was true of John and Mary as we know them in SPN as well). Dean and Sam started off in a very dark place that got even darker. John and Mary had their own issues(her with hunting, him with his dad missing and the war) but they were much more....liveable levels. They weren't starting out in as dark a place as Dean and Sam did. The show's pilot from what I can tell reflects that, yes there is darkness, there is tragedy(Carlos speaks to this a bit) but it's not as overwhelming at this point and I mean in the beginning of SPN it wasn't as dark as it became either. And yes the characters are younger too, Dean was 26 when SPN started and Sam 22. Even a few years at that age can make a big difference in outlook, experience, etc. I wouldn't expect the prequel to be exactly like SPN, in look or mood. It shouldn't be.
  8. I hate John, I mean I hate John post Mary's death, he was an abusive, he took a bad situation for his kids and made it worse, but John before that, the John we saw in In The Beginning and The Song Remains the Same, he was a sweet guy. I don't mind seeing the John before he became what he was.
  9. LOL yes I do sort of vaguely remember it, I was always skeptical myself. :) That said I always liked the guy, even when he was annoying me which is very different than how I felt about someone like Dabb for example.
  10. God they did Mark S so dirty in the last couple seasons.
  11. Yeh Yeah same. I was around then too and Kripke always respected what Jensen and Dean brought to the show, it was just a case of not really thinking from a character perspective what this meant.
  12. I think they are planning to, not sure how deeply but I am pretty sure they even filmed some flashback scenes in Vietnam going by some of the set pics the crew posted.
  13. I think when I did it I just used Albuquerque as the NM starting point but even the farthest part of NW is going to be closer than Vancouver so either way, I did think it was funny. But now that I think of it I think I've since heard they film near Rio Rancho, NM so I just put that in and it's still about 1800(1811) miles between there and Toronto so it averages out about the same.
  14. I caught up on this show when I found out Jensen Ackles was cast, and he's a great actor, but I did know a bit about it because first the big pilot episode shocker with Ryan Phillipe's character and also because I know Katheryn Winnick from Vikings, so it was on my radar a little bit I just hadn't watched. I've actually enjoyed it quite a bit though yeah it does have a bit more than it's share of headscratchers(such as in this episode Veer is in the hospital and Jag is able to just walk into his room smother him, alarms going off all the place and NO one comes running because geez a guy is flatlining!!) But I love the two leading ladies, love their friendship and they are both so beautiful. New sheriff Beau Arlen certainly fits in well in that regard(and he fits his name as well:)) AND in terms of chemistry as well. he's got great chemistry with both of them, however the show chooses to use that next season. Very easy and natural fit, they could choose to use that romantically or could just leave him a friend(though with this show I kind of expect he'll end up not being such a good guy so am viewing him with suspicion despite how amicable and charming he, or maybe because of it? ) and it would work either way. I did enjoy Beau's competence when it came to throat punching. Ren's expression kind of cracked me up when Danno(is that it? I keep forgetting his name, the guy who is always like "Can I kill 'em? Can I? Can I?") went down. I agree with whoever said above they should have Jenny and Cassie work together more. I mean I do understand Jenny is back to being a cop and they are kind of splitting their resources for best use but still...they should be together more. I wonder if they made this episode sort of low key because they weren't sure they were being renewed? So they wrapped up some lose ends, esp on the personal side of it, ended it with Jenny and Cassie hanging out together at the bard with the handsome Texas charmer :) but left the cases open ended so if they were picked up it would be easy to go one. Either way, I enjoyed it and I'm interested in the already existing characters and stories as well as Jensen Ackles new character who is they did give some intriguing hints with(which again can go either way so we'll see where he ends up LOL)
  15. Big Sky is filmed in New Mexico now(since Season 2), which ironically is actually closer to Toronto than Vancouver is. :)
  16. The cast are darling. They are so adorable and I think are going to be very good in their role That's just what I was thinking, Dean is doing this(I like the idea of it being after 15.20, just because Jack "fixed" heaven doesn't mean that everything God and the angels did is known and if John and Mary's memories were both screwed around with they wouldn't know) it's possible there is no easy way to clear that up. That may be fine for all the "normies" but these are Winchesters and there tend to be ticking time bombs in the unknown. I like the idea that what Dean is doing to make sure that Sam and his son remain safe by making sure there are no ticking time bombs. That he's still being a protector even now.
  17. Yes, Jensen mentions in some interviews that Robbie is the showrunner. I think Robbie is a) busy and b) speculation on my part but maybe doesn't really like doing this sort of stuff
  18. John is competent I think, but he was in a shocking situation to him, caught off guard and at home. Combat is different, this is somewhere he expected to be safe. He's still just a teenager after all, John's supposed to be 19(snuck off to join the army and lied about his age) It's possible John and Mary both only remember that part of the real story by the time Dean and Sam come along. A meet cute in front of the movie theatre. Also I can't lie, despite the fact that I think Drake is a bit taller than JDM and Meg is a tiny little thing compared to everyone including probably Sam Smith, I think the height difference is adorable. Very Han Solo and Princess Leia. :)
  19. Y'all! The full Trailer and it looks incredible! The Boys Trailer
  20. We're getting lots of Jensen content, Man About Town is finally getting to people, The Boys, Big Sky...
  21. My only hope is that Dean really does get bored and is like "you gotta put me back in coach" to Jack(ugh!).
  22. I personally haven't seen anyone called a hater simply for not being interested, however if someone goes around to every mention of the show(and in the case of twitter tags Jensen in their hate), which no one has seen yet, and start talking about how AWFUL it is, how AWFUL Jensen is, how AWFUL everything about it is, then yeah IMO those people are haters and have a very clear agenda which deserves to be called out.
  23. Geez, you're right. It's obvious now that you mention it.
