  1. Just when I was starting to like Austin he has to be obnoxious in his intro. But he was very toned down for the rest of the game so he was back in my good graces. I loved Robert's accent, and he was handsome. Liked Emily also. Too bad they couldn't have been more competition for Austin. TS I got were TransUnion, fork, Chicago 7. At first my brain just glazed over FJ as it tends to do when the clue seems more like a word problem about speeds of passing trains. But I decided to read it carefully and once I did it was an instaget. It really was! WTG Johnny! I'll bet Alex won't be far behind. Not in a googling mood, but I think Bob Barker hosted The Price is Right for longer than 34 years. Best nickname ever! He also didn't know about the Chilean? Colombian? corn liquor the other day. I didn't either, but I'm not a bartender. Guess the Brooklyn hipsters haven't discovered South American corn liquors yet.
  2. It was on TMZ also (don't judge me - it's my guilty pleasure!) Poor Amuparma - that would be my luck to make it on Jeopardy then go viral for something like that. I'd like to think that I could laugh at myself and hope she can too.
  3. Cam was hilariously OTT looking (but thankfully not acting) in his white caftan, sunscreen, hat, parasol, etc. And I loved his line about never dreaming he would marry into a lake family. Lily is so tall! I missed Stella. I had almost forgotten about the eclipse thanks to Harvey. All the things the family said about Jay - saving their favorite flavor gummi bears for them, him texting Phil every day for a week after his mom died - were sweet. I couldn't get past how much more weight she has lost. But I guess she felt the pressure due to having to be in a swimsuit. It's really a shame. But there has been no surgery - no need as per her commercials for Neutrogena ;-) Luke's comment was hilarious. I played the song for my 11-year olds a few days before the eclipse and they were not impressed. "Overdone" "Too long" "Who told her she could sing?" My little Simon Cowells...lol The video freaked me out when I was a kid.
  4. One of the problems is that they time-hopped a year (not a problem in itself since I do not want to see a family grieving a wife/mother/sis-in-law/friend on my sitcoms), but that it did not seem like Kevin & Vanessa had had a lot (or any) contact during that year. Kevin contacted Vanessa due to her having a contact at Immigration, and the way she asked him how things were going made me think they hadn't kept in touch. So for her to appoint herself wedding planner didn't seem organic. Sure Kendra was going nuts, but it seemed off and you need to be able to put a lot of trust in your wedding planner. And yes, I am overthinking this. Why do you ask? ;-)
  5. Of course you can be the reincarnation of the Black Dahlia - the more the merrier! But I am going to have to insist that you channel Barbara Stanwyck in "Double Indemnity". More crazy authentic, ya know.
  6. What a clusterf**k game! I think Pasha was more genuine than Austin; he seems the goofy dad type. I also thought it was cute when he said "yay" after climbing out of the red. But 2 of that "on" personality type, coupled with slow poke Jennie who seems to have forgotten which show she was on, was painful. The thing is, question/answer wise it was a great game. Very few TS. The only TS I got were Harvard & Barbie Dreamhouse. For the missed DD I immediately got Panama then said USA knowing it was wrong. Dr. Toothbrush said "you're warm", which led me to Canada. FJ was an instaguess, which turned out to be correct. I hate to admit that he is growing on me, but I'm still not sure about the authenticity of his quirkiness. He seems to be trying too hard. I didn't hear it, probably because I was yelling "what is" too loudly. But yes, that was nice.
  7. Oh, yeah...sorry about that So we have a recovering hoarder who may hold the key to Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance, possibly being directed by a mild-mannered actuary/mom of 3 who may or may not be the reincarnation of Hoffa, SoS, & Lizzie Borden, and 2 experts in past-life transgressions, one of whom identifies as a fabled Scottish sea creature. Add in Jason & Grant with their night vision cameras & EVPs and we can't lose!!
  8. SoS sounds great, and I'm up for being Lizzie Borden also. Now where did I put my axe?
  9. I want in! I would have to fudge my birthdate by a year or so, but I could claim to be the reincarnation of Jimmy Hoffa. Who knew he came back as an actuary, soccer mom of 3 from NOLA? Mystery solved! Have your people contact mine, smorbie!
  10. I just can't with Austin. Maybe I am too staid, but he is way too OOT for my tastes. A happy medium would be nice. And naturally he skips around and starts in the middle of categories for no reason. I do like his gutsy wagering, and it paid off big time. TS I got were Walloons (missed DD), Giblets of Fire, & mother. FJ was an instaget. Nooooo!!!!! I have no doubt that his slovenly appearance is carefully crafted and takes a lot of time, effort, and various grooming products to achieve.
  11. I snorted while reading this, especially the bolded parts. Too funny! If my mother had come across a serial killer in our family tree, that branch would be permanently chopped off without anyone knowing about it. And if I tried to make said murderous ancestor into a career, while trying to prove that he was an even more infamous serial killer, she would have built her own murder castle and locked my ass in until the end of time.
  12. Too much skipping around in today's game. I hate when they do that because then I have to pay attention so I know which category we're in ;-) TS I got were MI, Cowboys, Steelers, necropolis (missed DD), salivary glands, NCIS: NO, Ichabod Crane Poor wagering by Ivan; I knew that Dennis was going to go all in. Felt bad for Amurpama; her nerves really got the best of her. Dewey seemed like an easy DD for a category about librarians. When the Hugo category was revealed, Dr. Toothbrush & I groaned knowing we could look forward to Alex's accent. When Ivan out-Frenced (hee) Alex, we didn't know whether to be impressed or roll our eyes at his pretentiousness. Right now I'm leaning toward the latter. I realize Ivan gave the title of the book in the language it was originally written in, but on an American quiz show the English version will suffice just fine. Same answer here..lol Better than my answer of windchimes, which made absolutely no sense.
  13. Just wait for her yoga pants in episode 6. Not pretty. You have been warned.
  14. I thought the whole gold digger conversation between Anne & Julia was about Gilda. Anyway, I think Julia, Michelle, and Gilda are probably all gold diggers, and Angela would like to be. But I don't think that after 17 years Michelle is guilty of planning to leave once she bleeds her husband dry. If Anne & Louise didn't have family money, they may have been counted in the gold digger number too.
  15. That was a pretty good game, even though Betsy flamed out pretty spectacularly. How did she miss shoulder with so many of us shouting it at her? ;-) I was really hoping she would be season 34's first 5-day champion. Lauren seemed unstoppable for a while in DJ, but I am glad Ivan won. He's smart, pleasant, dapper, and starts at the top of categories, even if he jumps around the board a bit. TS I got were geographic center, Kevin Hart (timely, but not in a good way), benchmark, and the missed DD of shoulder. FJ was an instaget.
  16. Yes to all. The only complaint I had about Diane was that she took a smidge too long to select the next clue/category, but that could have been nerves.
  17. I haven't seen Katie in a while (blond who sat next to Eric), I wonder if she left. I don't care for the young woman sitting in her chair; she screams 'mean girl' to me.
  18. I ran the music & German categories, and am glad that Alex again restrained himself from extraneous accents. TS: Spanish Armada & telegraph cable (until it was no longer a TS). I have been doing really poorly lately. Blind guessed FJ. Even though I really only know about Wolverine because of hot Hugh Jackman, I am sorry to hear that his creator recently died Definitely. My husband is a pediatrician, not a pediatrician doctor.
  19. So (ha!) who do we think the big Hollywood actress in Justin's story was? I am thinking Scarlett Johansson or Julia Roberts. I'm shocked that tonsils was a $1,000 answer is a throat category. More like $200-$400 I would think. TS I got were Elizabeth Dole (missed DD), woe, & Gilbert. The state capital thread was difficult - I only got Columbus & Annapolis, but at least knew that Alberta is not a US state capital! I also got stuck on Alabama for FJ, despite no "e", and blame Julie(?) for her answer of Alberta in the state capital category. The irony is that we are going to NE for a wedding next weekend, and I added Omaha to my weather app not 2 hours before watching. Betsy reminds me of the actress who plays Dot on Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.
  20. Good point about the book title. I agree, and will cut him some slack since he did restrain himself for the most part during the Transylvania category. I know he has said how much he loves this job, and is grateful for it, but I can imagine that after 33 years he needs a little something to amuse himself.
  21. Add me to he Farhad fan club. Handsome & cute dog story. I would be willing to overlook the starting at he bottom of categories & jumping around to keep him around for a while. I ran the Men In Hats, Ditlords, & Super Bowl Half Time Show categories. TS I got were sun; Quasimodo; Grambling; Thailand; Jeff Lynne I could have sworn that Dennis was the older Quaid brother. FJ was an instaget for Dr. Toothbrush, but he is a huge fan of Crown Royal. I completely forgot that it is Canadian. You know it!
  22. I deleted it before even watching it (yes, I have a season pass - don't judge me!). I figured he would either be awesome or awful, and I didn't have the fortitude to find out which. You are braver than I, and I'm glad you didn't you didn't have to sit through a painful show!
  23. That was so awful it was awesome. From the dancer at Angela's party flashing everyone, to the healer MC who got the title of the book wrong, to the half naked (very young) men, plain room, paltry crowd. Oh my! And Anne was correct that Angela looked beautiful, but she ruined the lines of her one-shouldered dress by wearing her purse flung across her body. There wasn't a place she could have put it down? The editing during Angela's recitation of motivational poster sayings was brilliant - all blank stares & people downing their wine. Yes, Anne & Louise should have kept their comment to themselves until dinner, but where's the fun in that ;-) And of course Racist Julia (TM queenjen) has to blab. Gilda looked absolutely gorgeous at her launch party - hip and fresh, and not stoned out of her gourd. It didn't look like there were that many more people at her party than Angela's, TBH, but the vibe was much more energetic & fun. Of course Angela had to make a spectacle of herself. I am sure she will put down not being able to wait one day to confront Louise as "being real", but it was rude & classless. Although after her grand entrance, respectful & classy do not apply. None of them should have engaged, but again, where is the fun (& ratings) in that? But I loved how Gilda just disregarded & enjoyed her moment in the spotlight, as she should. Michelle looks stunning in red, and I liked Julia's dress at Gilda's launch party. Anne's dress for Angela's party was nice, but not $2,000 nice. Agree to all of this! And I absolutely agree that Lea is a fake intern and have mentioned it in the past couple of episode threads. (Of course I am in the US seeing these episodes almost a year after you are). That driving lesson - Oy! Getting in on the wrong side - oh haha my sides are splitting - and not fake at all. It's not like she has never driven in NZ before, or been inside of a car there. And if I had just crashed a car, I would not feel the least nervous driving my boss' Mercedes. Isn't there a Toyota or VW she can drive? And by all means, let's parallel park. We're here for you walnutqueen.
  24. The TS I got were Silver Linings Playbook & Dangerous Liaisons (of course Alex had to say it in French). I am surprised that when Ellen answered with the English pronunciation of foyer, he didn't repeat it in French. Ran the stamp category (my paternal grandfather collected stamps & I inherited his collection), but missed the rhyme about my beloved (if 0-2 Saints). In my defense (no pun intended...ha), I know little to nothing about fencing. No clue about FJ.
  25. I can't remember the episode, but he is talking about how he was walking through a high crime apartment complex and running into people he has arrested throughout the years. "Hi" How are you?" "Out of prison, I see". The last one made me LOL.
