  1. These are interesting screen grabs, an improvement ver the last set. Variety in topic and tone. Good job. I enjoyed them. The porsche getting hit is inevitable. Veronica is still learning how to manage people. How do parents and children interact physically without looking squicky after puberty? Awkward handshakes?
  2. Actual question do we believe the family she refers to exist? She seemed to be talking like thee ws a planet left.
  3. Terra being a name for Earth ‘Terran’ is a common name for ‘people from earth’ In science fiction/space opera.
  4. I meant that people watching the show seem to think he is a better, nicer, less culpable person than the show shows him to be. However dick is Logan’s friend and follower and tormented Veronica on Logan’s say so and stopped when Logan told him to stop. Dick intended to rape madison. He verbally abused beaver and earlier groped and mocked Veronica, just like his good buddy Logan did, however Beaver raped Veronica , Not Dick.
  5. logan egged on people who were groping Veronica, there is independent confirmation he led and participated in an actual sexual assault (salt lick )he drugged Duncan in part to distract him from helping Veronica. also bullying . So worse than Dick towards Veronica. He has a hell of a deflector shield. madison is consistently nasty to Veronica in small ways Veronica doesn’t retaliate. I don’t think she hates Madison because she gave her the drink. I think she knows she did something dumb and nasty little madison is there to make sure there is nothing forgiving about the world. I don’t think V actually blames her like thinks she’s culpable. if were both here when she runs up against Veronica in season three I’ll tell you why I think so.
  6. It is an interesting point but d I think the most important point is that she blames herself for taking the drink that she didn't see poured. Period. We never see her take revenge on Madison, so as much as she despises Madison she doesn't attack her for it. She went to a party, was attacked by a bunch of assholes who she already knew didn't like her and ended up in bed with someone she loved. She won't be drinking in situations like that in the future. Logan is kind of an outcast himself, at this point no longer the 'king of the '09ers' but still with some cachet of money and notoriety. Duncan isn't that interested. The kids at school who aren't '09ers think she's defected, but she isn't going to the mall with Caitlin and Madison and Shelley. She isn't really interested in being an '09er she is interested in knowing a few of her old friends. So, why do you think she'd never forgive Dick and don't mention Logan, who was worse?
  7. There’s something inconsistent about Lynn as well. Veronica’s limited POV?
  8. Tammy is given an odd box which was assembled by 'the archivist', who proves to be someone we know. She examines the papers and follows the leads, assembling her notes into a coherent narrative. The lodges have been hovering around the Northwest for some time and have been known to a number of Aboriginal tribes. Some explorers came in contact with them and no good came of it. The jade ring has been passed around, sometimes by famous people. Some of the people tottering around Twin Peaks were involved in some secret government stuff. It seems that more than the owls were not what they seemed. Later, before Tammy leaves Twin Peaks she finds out what has happened to some of the people in the town. This includes Audrey, Annie, Leo, Donna, her father and sister Gersten. She has good access but has to leave abruptly to make it with her small horde of information, flying ahead of a change in her resident multiverse. ;-)
  9. It does occur to me that this leaves a bunch of storylines open for both Betty and Chuck, many of which aren't particularly pleasant. Even though this show had a season and we are now in another season it hasn't been around very long and is still banking things against future storylines. I really liked the Candyman saying he thought Archie was Jason Blossom. Never can tell on these roads....
  10. He needs to know, in his bones, that he was wrong and he needs to do better in the future. Just because someone is punished doesn't mean they understand why they were punished, particularly with the batshit way Betty handled it. He could easily think he was a victim and be plotting revenge against all women.
  11. Okay the one thing in this episode my mind snagged on was that Keith jumps into the room really fast, he is obviously waiting outside the door, and Logan doesn't actually threaten her. Oh, I get that he wants them apart and doesn't trust Veronica to follow through if she feels sorry for Logan, but it makes me think Veronica talked about it before hand. Which makes sense, it just didn't initially come to mind. I still maintain this show isn't a romance and this proves it. I think it is a lot more like an 'American graffiti' show with added Veronica, 'we used to be friends, a long time ago.' Still only me, huh? Why they broke up? Well, last year we had this long bunch of interaction with Liane (Lianne?), someone from Veronica's halcyon days before Lilly was killed, and her mother. Veronica forgives her for running out, which is an egregious sin for a mother, supports her with rehab, and accepts her into her home. When she learns Liane never had any desire to quit drinking and probably came back because she needed a place to live and maybe a joint bank account, Veronica told her to leave. Veronica knows she was right because of the stolen check. So, here's Logan. He's an old friend from her halcyon days before Lilly died and she has forgiven him horrible sins( persistent long term bullying, assault, bum fights). He has called the shots because of the horrible things that have happened to him. She has supported him through all his major traumas. Now, having gotten him through the Felix hearings (and we don't see one flash of a moment when he is supporting her, even bringing her a pizza and a movie when she'd down) she finds out he has burned down the community center. This is the Bum Fights 2, it hurts a lot of innocent people for his private purposes. Like her mother he hasn't changed, she has given him a lot of chances, and now is the time to break it off. Veronica does learn from experience. I think the mystery of the week had to involve Wallace because who else could 'drag her back in'? The heroes journey requires a rejection of the quest, by the way, and I'm sure that Keith is the one that pushes the 'normal life' (why can't you do your nails and talk on the phone like a normal teenager?' he whines.} Veronica's main flaw is her need to please others and she is easily swayed by Keith, he makes a convincing argument, but once she is back in, she'd in. I don't think Veronica is buddies with Dick. I think Dick is still cringing from Logan telling him that anyone who hurts Veronica is dead to him. For her own part Veronica knows how lonely Logan is. Love how Beaver/Cassidy is around, the look of guilt when Veronica catches his eye and they are loading the gasoline. Wonder what is up with him, eh? Duncan comes to the coffee shop every day, not stalking, reading. He is there for her if she wants. Unlike Logan, Keith and everyone else he doesn't want her help, doesn't want her to be someone else. It is pretty romantic to me and it works. She needs someone who will let her find herself. Gia is great. Veronica's spirit guide appears when she is about to be thrown back into the Noir world of her Quest! As well as Weevil, one of her mentors. Yay.
  12. The riverdance kick choreography is wonderful. I wonder if Dohring was just messing around and they kept it or if it comes from some other movie. So much of what Logan does when he's being 'heroic' or showy in some way is very theatrical.
  13. Actually it is probably keeping me here. It adds an interesting savor to all of the other things, most of which are still happening (or may happen later in the season, like Polly's story) and it also gives them a chance to work with the visual aspects, as befits a comic book show. It also gives people something to talk about besides their love triangles.
  14. I really liked this aspect of the show. They are really capturing the pulp feel of a number of genres and the stylings are interesting even if the show occasionally lags. I'm OK with Chuck not being the worst person in the world but I think I'd want a little more redemption. We see him helping an old lady across the street, thr next episode at the cat shelter feeding abandoned kittens. Some resume of decency. They have 22 episodes.
  15. So dark as well and weirdly lit. Usually all night diners are harsh-bright.
  16. There was a bad smell on the bus The whitecastles call their dad to send a limo.
  17. Yeah you’re right. In the comic the hood is a thing, though, so there’s that..,it wouldnt be Kevin but it’s the best story. Really green eye though.
  18. I still wonder why he’d be possessive of Betty. Maybe he watched her grow up type of thing. I still thinking the best bets are Hal, Chick and Kevin himself. Kevin might have access to the sheriff’s keys to the jail. Chic might work there. Maybe the jail scene eliminates Hal.
  19. Doesn’t sound like it would stop you from beating the crap out of anyone, though.
  20. No one lets go of their mother that easily, or anyone they've lived with that long. That would be really crazy behavior.
  21. I agree with Sarah that The season is clumsier than memory serves. Some of it is that parts of it are excellent. Aaron's role is great from beginning to end and Logan does some good work as counterpoint. A lot of the characters are consistent even when some of the day to day storylines are clunky. I think Keith welcomes Liane back because he feels guilty about what has happened to Veronica, not that he knows the half, and that he didn't pay enough attention to her. If Veronica is happy with Liane there, he will take her back. I think at some point, and it may be in the movie or books, we learn Liane was an alcoholic for most of Veronica's life, so assume Veronica was her caregiver and Keith was kind of clueless, worked hard, and ignored the reality of the situation. He assumed if Veronica was happy she was doing something correct. Veronica, on the other hand, kept how bad it was from Keith. I don't think she could just turn away from her mother without self injury until she had proven to hereself that it was hopeless. Weidman gave the pictures to Liane at Celeste's bequest. When Veronica tips off Jake at the Echoll's Christmas Jake talks to Celeste and tells her to back off (what did you do, Celeste?) . There was no danger at the time she returned, not sure how she found out. In rewatching this I really noticed all of the little movie gestures Logan uses. The Bruce Lee gesture on the bridge. The scene with Lamb is one of the few times we see him actually seem vulnerable when he is with someone beside's Veronica. I think this is why he keeps on winning her over.
  22. One of the thing that bugs me is Duncan's 'type 4 epilepsy'. this exists and is completely unlike the show disease. It is so annoying, they could have just handwaved that he was dropped on his head as a child. Also, Celeste and Jake both immediately believe he is capable of anything, so he is really swimming in a toxic sea. He is never being let loose on the world, no matter what happens. I think this explains things that happen in the second season. The actor may be bad but I think Duncan is a decent person, with some reservations about Meg, who may have withheld information from him. Also, thinking about Shelley's party, he would likely not be convicted of anything if the truth was generally known and came out in court, which is not something you could say about Logan. Incest? Well, the way his parents treat him why would he believe anything Celeste said? Maybe when he was in his right mind, not knowing the truth, but when drugged? Funny as his acting may be he comes out of a situation that is fairly abusive and horrifying and shows courage, flexibility and resolve. Please throw only things I can make into soup. Winter is coming!
  23. I always thought Veronica was an amazingly mentally healthy person. She risks her life and future to find Lilly's murderer and to put her family together and when she succeeds at the one thing and fails at the other she is able to accept it and let them go. Probably how you avoid PTSD. Backup is a Very Good Boy.
  24. Another random thought. Keith uses Veronica in his business, knowing she is doing things she hasn’t been trained for with only a dog for backup. Because he needs to to achieve his goals. He apologizes to Veronica in this episode, the same episode that Veronica apologizes to Wallace for the same exact behavior., minus dog.
