I think the clumsy age juggling was so Lilly and V would be sixteen although I’m not completely clear on CA statutory rape laws and the show did a lot of TV law. She might have told her dad which would have alienated Logan because he would have seen it as another betrayal. Which would distance him from both Lilly and Veronica. So he might have embarked on his bullying. So, maybe something close to canon.

Logan is still confronting his feelings with a combination of drinking, self destructive behavior and abusive acting out (with fists and mouth). Just like Mom and Dad. Veronica is still throwing herself into work and trying to pretend the relationship with Duncan is normal, just like Keith (with Lianne). Duncan is still covering up any unpleasantness with lies and half truths, like Celeste and Jake. Not only just like their parents but Logan and Duncan are without parental guidance, and Veronica really is, too. Living the dream? Also thinking maybe Aaron is not getting bail to whip up public sympathy?

Thinking that the 'fab four' wouldn't have lasted very long if Lilly hadn't been killed: Veronica breaks up with Yolanda on Lilly's say so and immediately senses the wrongness of her actions, she isn't going to remain Lilly's lapdog for long. Lilly will probably retaliate by kicking her out of the in crowd and even if she doesn't really try to bully Veronica beyond that people like Madison will fill the void. Liane runs because Celeste is blackmailing her. Keith's modus operandi is to ignore issues by throwing himself into work. Veronica's entry into the seedy underbelly of Neptune will be her own search for her mother, more or less alone because: Duncan has broken up with Veronica after Celeste tells him Veronica is his sister (he hides the truth the way that his family later tries to cover up his suspected involvement in Lilly's death, and again the way he hides the Meg coma- pregnancy thing). There is a good chance Lilly knows this, too, but she will keep the information close to her chest until she can use it for maximum drama (she takes the tapes and hides them, she doesn't take them to the police). The awkward break of Duncan and Veronica is going to make the group uncomfortable, even if Lilly gets back together with Logan. Even if Veronica doesn't break with Lilly, Logan is becoming increasingly confrontational with his father and Veronica hanging out with Logan likely won't survive his anger at her telling Lilly about Yolanda and the bum fights (Lilly's death gives her an excuse to forgive him for some things he was probably going to do anyway).

PODCAST S02.E03 Go Pirates!: Is There Such A Thing As TOO Cool?

Yes, most of Logan's behavior is a textbook case. In a perfect world, if Logan had the courage--and no one would expect it of him--to out Aaron as an abuser, Lilly and lynn would be alive. This is something Logan will need to face before he can move on and he is nowhere near ready to do it. But if he was the star of the show, which he isn't, this would be his story line: Logan, a damaged person who is stronger than you can imagine is at first crushed by the things that happen to him. But by the second season he has grown. He takes responsibility for bullying Veronica himself and for Aaron's actions as well. He admits that his hiding his abuse didn't help. He acts on what he learns. He helps damaged, broken Veronica learn to trust again and leads her back to being the open, delightful girl she was before Lilly's death. In his drive to fix the damage he caused he will have, by the end of the story, also saved himself. Or perhaps he'd just realise that he needs to move on and let her save herself. Contrast Logan with Veronica. She may not be really responsible for the deaths of the students in the bus crash, but she immediately faces the possibility without hesitation, and accepts responsibility for it. She also, in a psychologically healthy move, asks someone else (Keith) for emotional support. This is her baseline. Now she has to complete her quest to find herself and on the way she learns how hard it is to save someone else and that sometimes you have to admit that you can't save them. You are also right about Veronica. She embodies the characteristics we usually associate with an alpha male. She commits to her beliefs at the time. When she's wrong she moves on. She learns, changes and grows. She uses people hard but like a general in battle, she supports and earns the loyalty of her troops. When she apologises to Wallace, she gives him her computer and leaves him alone with it. She not only apologises, she leaves herself vulnerable. She is a good leader but not always a nice person and yeah, sometimes self righteous and judgmental. Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Hillary Clinton, hell, Donald Trump has all the bad parts and none of the positive ones. -

I don’t know if you read fanfiction. I don’t read a massive amount but found this writer through a tv tropes recommendation. This story is a first person totally sociopathic Veronica who kills Lilly Kane. It isn’t a romance or remotely shippy of course. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3090351/1/The-Answer anyeay your description of Duncan made me think of this. -

Dick has perfected the blithering idiot look. Veronica’s first reaction is to take responsibility. Logan’s is to blame someone else. -

All things considered I thing scarring a line through the tattoo, as far as gang stuff goes it seems pretty benevolent. Yah, Jughead seems like such a puppy. It’s a loss of innocence, for sure it is going to be harder to pry him away from the gang now. I think the tattoo is like a passport. If It’s revoked you don’t get to carry it around anymore. -

ok Veronica stays with Logan through his physical recovery and trial. The only people we see Logan hangs out with are Dick and Beaver, so she probably isn’t getting any social fun out of this, in fact she is probably isolating herself by being his friend. We know her father is injured and she is working hard. He knows she’d disapprove of torching the pool because we see him hiding it from her. Hr does something he knows will cause her to leave him because she is going to leave him, because everyone does. Separation anxiety. She is still around so he uses personal information she trusted him with to repeatedly try to hurt her. we never see her do this back. He also messes with his actual remaining friends dick/beaver (heh) and cuckolds the only adult male who is nice to him. Logan is a toxic friend. And also a really defensive passive aggressive self destructive one. Logan is rarely direct and honest. Emotionally. The fight with Duncan was one of those times. Duncan lets him back in. Veronica responds to rare honesty from Logan in the same way. I figure Jackie knows she’s going back to being a waitress and unwed mother. She’s living large while she can. She doesn’t think any of the relationships she’s making will survey ve the truth. Maybe including her dad. -

I wouldn’t have minded a little more podcast discussion about what Casablancas the Elder was doing. My impression (assumption?) was it was one of those scams where older couples in upper New York, etc, are sold vacation time shares in the Okefenolkee Swamp. This doesn’t say much about the investment smarts of the teacher, who is in the area and could have checked. -

Affogato replied to Primetimer's topic in Veronica Mars
did I quote or respond to you? Sorry I guess :-) yeah Aaron shrug. You don’t sound like a lawyer either. Yeah the daughter living at home thing would make more sense if Keith did much hands on parenting. as a general rule you’re correct, it just is jarring not because it isn’t reasonable, because it seems out of place to me. To display a general garment I just walked out of the Shape of Water. A love story. Guillermo del Toro was also heard to comment on one of his other movies, PacificRim, that little girls need to know that not every story is a love story. I think Veronica Mars isn’t really a love story. I think them getting together is a noir ending. It may work long term but I suspect she just is mostly single and fighting for justice and he’s on a boat with his navy equivalent of his ‘09er group. But I hope not of course. Heres an interesting article about people’s perceptions of a tv character compared to what the character actually is (it is about the original Star Trek, not Veronica Mars): http://strangehorizons.com/non-fiction/columns/freshly-rememberd-kirk-drift/ -

I just tripped over my bluerays coming home tonight. Amazons preorder did not do good. I assume others had issues. What a beautiful box with the divided image of the good/the bad/the dougie. Thats as far as I’ve got but I’m looking forward to the extras. So many extras. -
I think dohrings work with Harry Hamlin is impressive in particular on the show. If he had done more I think we’d see he had real versatile talent . He doesn’t have that much of a portfolio as near as I can tell so pretty much zilch? I think a lot of tv actors get hired for some sort of persona they project and get stuck there. Or movie actors. Tom Cruise(who I don’t like btw) plays the same person in most of his roles and individuates himself with the stunts but he occasionally does a movie where he shows he has a greater range. He just doesn’t use it that often.

TjTs what I meant. The first time I broke the board it felt like I tapped it lightly and it fell apart. I could have pounded at it for some time without success. And I think that is what Jenna was trying to teach her. I guess next episode we learn the kree mobsters agenda.

PODCAST S02.E02 Go Pirates!: Say, What's Different About You?
Affogato replied to Primetimer's topic in Veronica Mars
Veronica doesn’t jump into bed with people fast, she needs a push with Duncan ( life is short) I think Keith knew she was going out with Duncan, he was just commenting on the sex, staying out all night. She’s 18. Some of that puzzled me. Also even odder when she was 19. We never heard anything about rules, it was just ‘my expectation is when you are under my roof you will comport youself as if you are fifteen’. I think it was more Veronica than Keith, more POV that’s what she heard. In the books she moves out pretty quick. Duncan was doing his daily reading in the hut when Veronica was going out with Logan. overlap The season doesn’t start on the first day of school, a little extra time for everyone to notice the changes in Veronica aarons trial makes no sense, no way I -

I guess I should add a few more things. I like Jackie and enjoyed seeing more of Wallace doing what he learned from Veronica. I guess there were issues with Percy Daggs which may have limited how much they used him, which is too bad. I thought the dead man with her name on his hand was pretty creepy. I look forward to Duncan's departure further on in the season, although actually this is a really bad thing for Logan. Duncan's relative impassivity allows him to weather Logan's behavior and remain his friend. -
Honestly I ended up missing the last two seasons and haven't caught up so I'm sort of floating around trying to figure out what is going on. I think you are right, the kree seem to be more like criminal gangs looking for weapons to sell on the galactic market than anything else. there is the Endor's game idea, that the 'soldiers' may not be told the truth about what they are doing. Not sure I know enough about it to really comment.

PODCAST S02.E02 Go Pirates!: Say, What's Different About You?
Affogato replied to Primetimer's topic in Veronica Mars
This is the thing that probably interests me about Veronica Mars, more than the show. The feeling that I'm watching a different show than other people and yet, oddly, am confident I'm watching the show on the screen (understanding that I can be wrong about this and that, but pretty sure I'm getting the gist). Understand, I'm a Veronica and Logan shipper in the context of the show, I just think it is a tragedy--and not a tragedy where I feel like taking sides and defending one or the other. I just don't think there is any way to get them together without changing them into different people. At this time. And I'm a little shaky on ten years later, but Logan being gone most of the time during the books helps, I guess. Duncan actually faces the consequences of his actions: I doubt Duncan would have been convicted of rape, and there are often in rape laws, even fairly enlightened ones, provisions to help someone who may be unable to judge if consent has been given. On the other hand, yeah, Veronica is moving on by telling herself she wasn't raped and this is one way to do it. I think it is something she'd do. Veronica didn't have sex with Duncan when Lilly and Logan were getting it on, was a virgin prior to Shelley Pomeroy's party, doesn't have sex with Logan during their brief period of togetherness in season one , waits to get it on with Duncan until the bus crash makes her determined to take life in both hands. Her not having sex with Logan isn't his emotional sensitivity, which is questionable: It is her insecurity and her nervousness about that kind of intimacy. Although wonderfully funny it seems to me Logan's zingers in the hall way are really a return to Logan the bully, only this time his attack on her sexual insecurity, considering he knows about the rape, is pretty nasty. It may be the worst thing he has done to her, because now he knows enough about her to hurt her badly. It is also understandable given that she hurt and abandoned him AGAIN and he is too wounded to pay attention to anyone except himself, which only gets worse as the life hits keep coming. Logan is a mess. Yes, Veronica is as well, but she has more emotional support from others and isn't afraid to take what she can get, even from Duncan. Logan is a much more interesting character if he isn't perfect, I'm not sure, I'm honesty not sure why anyone would want to trade that character for a cardboard cutout of the perfect boyfriend. Which is what Duncan is, because of his imperfections as an actor, not wood but a standee in his scenes, but one Veronica responds to as a boyfriend. -

These are interesting screen grabs, an improvement ver the last set. Variety in topic and tone. Good job. I enjoyed them. The porsche getting hit is inevitable. Veronica is still learning how to manage people. How do parents and children interact physically without looking squicky after puberty? Awkward handshakes? -
Actual question do we believe the family she refers to exist? She seemed to be talking like thee ws a planet left.
