  1. According to Kody, Christine treated Robyn like dirt. Yet Robyn's crying and oh so upset that Christine is leaving the family. Why would Robyn be so upset at Christine leaving if, in fact, Christine treated her so poorly?
  2. Only the ceremony and cocktail hour at Charlotte Hall, except the ceremony was in a tent because the house and carriage house are both too small. I still don't get how exactly Mina envisioned people using the hall.
  3. The only thing that's surprising about Kody not wanting to drive Ysabel to North Carolina is that he's giving up an opportunity to see his beloved Caleb.
  4. I agree with the article on the Primetimer home page, Ryan Murphy was exactly the wrong choice to adapt The Watcher. I've always thought the true story of The Watcher letters was fascinating, but the letters seem to be the least of the Brannocks' problems in this series. The neighbors are so over-the-top creepy and immediately hostile it's just cartoonish. "No one else who lived in the house had any problems with my brother living in the dumbwaiter, why do you!!" Yeah, right. I made it until the dead pet in the hallway but that's it for me. The fascinating part about the true story is that the letters were very creepy, vaguely threatening, and very specific about the family and the house, but nothing ever actually happened. Yet the family (understandably) got very suspicious of all their neighbors, wondering who it could be, and became obsessed with trying to find The Watcher. For me, that's the story! The core of it is a couple becoming paranoid and obsessed (so sure, take some liberties and even make them get a little crazy) over a series of letters that never result in any actual physical threat. All these weirdo hostile neighbors and dead pets is an entirely different story. I wish Netflix had given this story to Mike Flanagan. I think he could a better job with a story about vague creepy threats resulting in paranoid and obsessive behavior by the victims.
  5. Yeah, surprise, surprise Mina pulled it off. It wouldn't surprise me if the wedding was completely fake and they just held it when the house was finally done. Mina seemed to mismanage the whole project then patted herself on the back for doing a great job. At times it seemed like she had never managed a construction project before. The concrete guy had to explain to Mina that they couldn't pour the concrete below a certain temperature. After how many years in construction, shouldn't she know that already? The whole space (house and carriage house) seems poorly planned. It is supposed to be an event space but no space is large enough to hold even a smallish wedding so you have to put up a tent outside. Yes, the speakeasy is tiny, as is every other room. I can see holding an event in a large home with separate rooms that people can gather in, but no room in the house looks like it can hold more than 8 people. If you actually want to have your guests all sit down for a meal, I guess you're back in the tent. And they showed people arriving by van, so obviously no on-site parking is available. I get the impression this was a big vanity project for Mina, and a poorly thought-out one at that.
  6. I've been thinking throughout this whole Risky Business series that I doubt Finley sleeps very well at night due to all the stress of her job.
  7. I'm pretty sure I remember Janelle at one point saying that her ideal retirement life would be to buy an RV and travel across the country visiting her children and grandchildren. Savannah is a high school senior now, I think Janelle is getting ready to hit the road once Savannah graduates.
  8. Kody talked about how he did make an effort to go over to Christine's and visit Ysabel and Truely outside during Covid, "but then they'd go to bed!" You just know he'd have dinner with Robyn and her kids and then later in the evening finally realize, "Crap I was supposed to visit Ysabel and Truely today". By the time he got his ass over there it was probably after 8pm on a school night so it wasn't long before the girls (especially Truely) had to get to bed. But that was somehow their fault for not rearranging their schedule to suit him.
  9. Robyn and Meri so distraught about Christine leaving. Robyn can't imagine not having Christine as a sister wife anymore. When was the last time either one of them picked up the phone and actually called Christine or initiated any kind of contact with her? Back when they lived in Las Vegas I'd guess. When Robyn asked Christine whether she would still believe in plural marriage if her relationship with Kody were better, part of me wanted Christine to reply: 'If he spent as much time with me and my kids as he does with you, and he worked as hard to make sure my needs were met as he does yours, then maybe.' I would have loved to see Robyn's reaction to that. I can imagine Kody and Robyn's reaction to Christine actually sharing 50/50 custody with Truely. Christine would call and say she was bringing Truely down for a couple of weeks and their reaction would either be: 1) Oh we've just got so much going on right now, it's just not a good time, or 2) We'll put the nanny on the phone so you can tell her what she needs to do for Truely while she's here.
  10. Meri is also the happiest of all the happy people and has many, many, many co-workers best friends that she hangs out with all the time!
  11. I think their potential partners are hoping to see their dude ranch featured on next season of the show. Great advertising for them. I'm sure a lot of the visitors to Caerula Mar are viewers of the show.
  12. I think Tony actually likes to spend time with Mykelti and may, on occasion, do something nice for her. The bar is very low for Christine.
  13. So Mykelti moved in with Robyn prior to her marriage to Kody to help her with her kids. How is it that Robyn who, as far as I am aware, has never had a job outside the home, unable to take care of her kids on her own? She always seems to need a live in relative or nanny to help. And if you can't handle taking care of children maybe you shouldn't have 5 of them.
  14. The whole carriage house design is dumb. The downstairs venue area seemed to have room for about 5 tables. So I guess you have to put up a tent outside for your event. Over $400K to renovate the carriage house to be used as an event space, except it's actually too small to be an event space so you have to put up a tent outside. Brilliant. I didn't see any secured separation between any of the spaces so it doesn't seem like either of the two apartments could be rented out separately as airbnbs. I'm not really sure what the point of this series is other than to show Mina as completely out of her depth on this project. If the carriage house cost over $400K to renovate, that big house and outside combined is going to be $1M.
  15. Such a stupid argument. Kody will have a legal obligation to provide financial support for Truley, and a legal right to spend time with her. Whether or not Christine has a boyfriend won't change any of that.
  16. Telling Christine what "grownups" do.
  17. Christine took care of all the kids during the day, then went to work in the evening, but Christine couldn't expect Kody to put "her" kids to bed because that was asking for special treatment. But Robyn not working outside the home and having a full time nanny is just fine. This was the first time I've heard Christine worked outside the home, I thought taking care of the kids was her fulltime job.
  18. Kody was trying so hard to make Christine the bad guy. He talked about what "grownups" do to keep a family together. Then he said his worst fear was that Christine would get a greedy new boyfriend. Hey Kody, guess how Christine felt when you got a greedy new wife who wanted all your time and attention. But, of course it's not his fault that he spent time all his time with Robyn, it's Christine is at fault for comparing their relationships. Give it up Kody, literally no one is one your side (except of course Robyn).
  19. Once again a minuscule amount of living space for a four bedroom house in the Urban Barn. If you'd ever want to sit down and eat a meal at a kitchen or dining room table in one of Mina' houses you are out of luck.
  20. Me either. 'Dreadful' is the correct description. Yes, there is a bridge linking each of the decks. I don't get why anyone would want that either, unless you have 3 families renting the houses that are all there as a group. When they get to the exterior I think the best way to add value will be to unlink the decks.
  21. Funky Farmhouse: I didn't like the wallpaper in the master bedroom, but kind of loved it in the other rooms. Although the wallpaper was loud, with the headboard walls being only half walls, and the other walls and ceiling being white it didn't seem like too much. My bedroom is on the second floor of my story-and-a-half house, so I have my bed against the same type of half wall, and am seriously considering wallpapering it now.
  22. Guest bedroom: Ty's team wins. You've got to be kidding me. The kitchen cabinet doors on the wall looked so stupid. Even Sarah laughed at them. Roosevelt and Brandon's bedroom was beautiful. I did like Ty's teams bathroom the best, but it was overshadowed by the ridiculous bedroom. I think Roosevelt & Brandon deserved the win.
  23. I'm really loving this series. I love that it is focused on the design and renovation process without all the drama that was on Flipping Out. And no Jenny or Zoila! (Yay!) I like that the people on Jeff's team now all seem to enjoy working together which makes it more enjoyable to watch.
  24. If you're suspicious that Carlin's episodes are being exaggerated or not real, I would encourage you to watch their video where they showed her in a seizure at Evan's parents' house. It was very, very scary and definitely not faked. I think it's fair to question whether it's appropriate for them to put the seizure on their youtube channel, but what they showed looked like a full blown epileptic seizure to me. It can sometimes take doctors a long time to pin down what exactly is causing seizures like Carlin is having.
