  1. Calling BS on this whole Jack story line. Him and Kate getting together during one of the Jack and Jenn break-ups - yes, but him cheating on his comatose wife, no. There is no amount of twisting and turning the writers can do that will make this make sense. The Jack we have known for over 30 years would never do that. His love for Jennifer is one of his most consistent traits and his determination to stay by her side during her coma made perfect sense. The only possible way this could make any sense is if, after Adrienne's funeral, Jack got drunk and Kate drove him home. A moment of comfort goes too far and they end up having sex but it only happens once. They better not be implying that Jack and Kate carried on a long-term affair because he wouldn't have time to do that and still be there to turn over that hourglass every time the sands ran out.
  2. I started reading the book this was based on in hopes that it could give me a stronger feel for why Toni did what she did. Spoiler: I think I will watch each episode and then read the matching story to see how close they are.
  3. I'm not sure what I think about this episode. The impression I was given is that Toni's attempt to abort Jack caused Jack's issues but her actions seem more like an autistic child, which has no known cause at this time. The only caregiver, Toni finally cracked and abandoned her daughter after meeting with the monster and seeing she can have a new life as long as she can live with her decision. So are we to infer that Toni is the real monster? Her decision to abandon Jack in a random car instead of someplace she could get help bothers me a lot because she may have just put her daughter in a life threatening situation and it doesn't seem to bother her. Yes, raising a child with special needs is difficult both physically and emotionally but we are given no real reason why Toni has reached her breaking point. Ultimately, I feel like this needed more time to breathe and put us in her situation. Did Toni at least attempt to get help for Jack? Are we to assume that since Jack's dad was violent and abusive, Jack was the same way? Usually the filmmakers have to include a lot of filler to meet the hour long runtime but this episode really needed to be longer to help explain Toni's motivations and why she finally decided, after 4 years, to abandon her daughter. Not a great start to the series and is not making me anxious to see more.
  4. I tend to think that MR just chose not to return to California at this time and TPTB and her agreed to a temporary recast. Between the Corona and her new grandchildren, she is probably evaluating her life and whether it is worth the risks to return to the set. I may not agree with MR on her political views, at all, but they are not a reason to fire her. As for her political beliefs being put on screen, her big story last year included fighting Jack on deporting an illegal immigrant, so I really don't think that is the case. I see MR as a staunch Republican who would back the party line and illegal immigration is a huge issue for them. If MR's politics that we have seen on her social media were on film, I'd have to think that Jack would have been standing up for Haley and Jennifer would have tried to kick her out of the country. I'm interested to see what happens with Cady and what her chemistry is like with MA. He was always good at creating chemistry and working the story he was handed, it was his idea to have Jack flirt with Jennifer, so I think it may work. JMHO
  5. I'm hoping for more of a Mrs. Voorhees twist (warning, 1980's fake blood): Seeing Paige encouraging Eve to "kill him mommy" would make me happy!
  6. First off - Team Sami all the way. There is a reason that she has always felt like an outsider to her own family and they just proved it big time by hiding the wedding and Alli's pregnancy from her. It isn't just that Nicole kidnapped Sydney, she also traded another baby for Sydney and tragically that baby, Grace, contracted meningitis and died. Sami not only had her daughter kidnapped, she also went through the pain of watching the child she loved and was raising die. Nicole even made a comment when she was confronted about the baby switch about Sami letting Grace die, leading Sami to tell Nicole "Don't even say her name!" Nicole backed off of that point but I never forgot it. I can't have been the only cheering when Sami slapped Nicole and forced her to admit the truth. And yet, her twin brother is now marrying the woman who caused her so much pain and let her go through the hell of losing a child. Her daughter is turning to this same woman for advice instead of her mother whose only real crime, it seems, is supporting her daughter through college and then demanding she get a job and act like an adult. I'll be honest about something else, Nicole doesn't work as the calm mentor and I really do not buy her and Eric as a couple. I have always thought that Nicole had much better chemistry with Brady than Eric. There is no fire to Nicole anymore and their attempt to make her a heroine is just falling flat to me. I enjoyed her much more when she was Kristin in disguise and scheming her way around town. Let her be a great grey character and not this boring and bland woman she has become.
  7. https://www.soapcentral.com/days/news/2020/0521-judi_evans_injured_in_accident.php Sadly, Judi Evans had a setback this week...
  8. I do believe the tide has turned on Rafe as he actually did a smart thing and assigned Lani, a woman who detests his sister, to investigate her for Abby's drugging. This was smart as no one could accuse Lani of taking it easy on Gabi and, once Gabi is found innocent, there would be no doubt to it being true. Of course Lani screwed all that up but what else is new? Rafe, in general, has been more bearable now that he is not involved with someone. I like single Rafe better than I have liked him in a relationship with anyone. I used to love Brady and defended him through so much but not anymore. Turning his daughter over to a homicidal maniac just because she has always wanted a baby is unforgivable. My only hope is that he does hook up with Sarah and they both realize what idiots they were to give Rachel to Kristen. Once Kristen shows back up this summer, they marry and sue for sole custody to save Rachel from psycho mommy. A girl can dream.
  9. How about the neon "S" from the Salem Inn crushing Kristen? The letter "C" took out Mary on Santa Barbara. We could even get Sesame Street to sponsor it - S is for splat!
  10. According to this, https://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2020/days-of-our-lives-spoilers-stacy-haiduk-exits-dool-kristen-dimera-disappears-with-rachel-bradys-heartbreaking-goodbye/, Kristen convinces Sarah to give her Rachel and then Brady helps Kristen disappear with Rachel. I don't blame Sarah, girl is completely and totally devastated by everything that has happened and Kristen loves preying on those who are weaker than her, but Brady is just the world's biggest idiot. Good job Brady - you have condemned poor Rachel, your daughter, to a life on the run with a psychopath!
  11. So, still going on my theory that Zoey has Mickey, I think Christian told her the truth about the baby switch and she is doing everything in her power to ignore it. Denial, not just a river an Egypt. Skipped Kristen and Lani, Tweedledee and Tweedledumb don't deserve a moment of my time. Neither are compelling or sympathetic. Rafe actually was using the Salem brain when he assigned Lani to investigate Gabi because no one could complain that she was biased towards Gabi but Lani screwed it up by being an idiot who helped psycho Kristen escape from jail. Abby was convincing during her freak out but I already knew KM could play crazy, it's normal she has a problem doing. Now for the good stuff - damn, Suzanne Rodgers and Lindsay Godfrey are killing this story and the men have been wonderful scene partners. I have no problem regarding how LG is playing Sarah - this is a woman whose entire life has been torn apart and I can sense her fear and anxiety in every move she makes. This is an example of temporary insanity (side-eye to Kristen), a normally sane and rational person losing their ability to think rationally due to a traumatic experience. She is reacting out of love for the child she has raised and fear of losing her. I also understand her mixture of hate and love for her mother, loving the woman who has been there for her for her whole life and hating the woman who caused her daughter to die. And my heart broke for Maggie as she realized that she was responsible for Mickey's death. She had to push and pull for every single bit of information Xander gave her regarding what happened to Sarah and Mickey and Maggie was relentless about it. PT played it just the way he should. Xander's hesitation, his attempts to try and stop Maggie from finding out and then trying to soften the blow, and then the way he finally just took her in his arms and held her as she collapsed from the news was perfect. Xander is no hero, but he is human and this was a great way to show it.
  12. Ron is deep in denial if he thinks most of the audience is behind Kristin doing everything she is doing to get Rachel back. No, just no. Kristin is a psychopath whose only concern is herself and that is why she should not be let near any child ever again. This would be a good opportunity to bring back Peter. He could be her confidante and try to secure custody of Rachel while Kristin and Brady are in jail because, let's face it, that is where they both should be. Brady for interfering with a police investigation and Kristin for attempted murder. Personally, I think Rachel should stay with Sarah who, despite her slight mental slip, at least has a reason for how she is behaving. Then when Mickey is revealed as alive, because I refuse to believe that she is dead, Sarah can raise them as twins and a least give that girl at least the hope of a normal life.
  13. I knew it! I called that earlier this week. It will be Ron's version of ironic considering she is trying to take David away from Rafe, the man that raised him, and return him to his birth father. Now she, the woman who raised the child, will have to give up her daughter to the birth parents.
  14. Is it too late to start a Free Mickey campaign to keep her away from Kristen and Brady? She's a homicidal maniac and he is so stupid you wonder how he remembers to breathe. I'm surprised that she left the knife behind, most serial killers keep trophies from their kills. I would hazard a guess that there is a stethoscope from Hayley hidden in a drawer at her house. In the article you can almost see the knots EM is twisting himself into in order to justify this latest plot twist. I would be interested in hearing his reactions when he first read the script although I imagine the language is NSFW.
  15. Maybe I am little too close to this issue - I work in an ER and both of my children work in nursing homes. We all live in fear every day that we will accidentally expose the ones we love to the virus - not because of the virus but because we are in the front lines of the pandemic. We are all doing our best to protect ourselves and our loved ones but even that may not be enough. Our state just extended the stay-at-home order until May 30th and all I can think is please keep these idiots who do not comprehend how dangerous their protests are far away from my kids and grandkids. You want to risk your lives, fine, but leave me and my loved ones out of it. Maybe I am reserving a place in hell for myself for feeling that way but I really don't care - I will risk eternal damnation if it means the ones I love are safe and healthy.
  16. So I am supposed to feel sympathy for a woman who lashes out in violence all the time? I should want this woman to raise her child? And what happens when Rachel or Brady angers her and she hurts one of them - will it be that she was just upset and shouldn't be held responsible? I cannot tell you how much I despise them trying to get me to be on Kristen's side - it is not going to happen. It didn't work with Ben and it won't work for her.
  17. And now a story from one of the nurses at a protest: ICU nurse who silently protested, faced insults at Phoenix reopening rally speaks out https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/04/23/phoenix-arizona-reopening-protest-icu-nurses-viral-counter-protest/3011737001/
  18. Yeah, I think that is what happened too but I also think that it will turn out that it was Zoey's daughter that died that night and they did it to protect her - just speculation, not any kind of spoiler or rumor. Something about the way they made a point of talking about her being a mom just struck me as foreshadowing.
  19. So I get that Orpheus has complete immunity for all previous crimes but does that mean he can just break into people's houses or refuse to leave and not suffer any consequences? Because, unless he has diplomatic immunity, that is not how immunity works. It does not give the criminal the ability to never be prosecuted for any crime ever again. My little Jack and Jenn loving heart is just eating up any interaction I can get between them. Go Kayla although she is going to end up doing exactly what Steve wants - stay with Justin instead taking some time to figure out what she truly wants. The reality is that she spent over 10 years alone without a man, managing to raise her daughter and become a doctor on her own. She has the ability to make her own decisions and, if she decided to forgive you and give your relationship another chance, it is insulting to take that decision from her. If you still love her and want to be with her then that is her decision to make - not yours.
  20. My cat, Socks, was raised with dogs and does come when I call him. His sister Callie has a bit of an attitude though and will not. You want to show me the surest sign that you are ignorant regarding COVID19? Tell me it is the 19th strain of the virus because that is absolutely not true. Kellyanne Conway was spouting that crap on Fox News (saw a clip on Seth Meyers because I refuse to watch that BS station) and another right wing idiot on this show. It is named 19 because that was the year it was discovered - 2019. If you cannot get the basic facts right, shut the hell up! Sorry, I work in an ER (secretary) and the ignorance I am seeing is just angering me. It would serve those idiots protesting right to catch the virus while protesting. I take heart in this story though... https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/04/20/coronavirus-photos-show-mask-health-workers-blocking-denver-protest/5163745002/
  21. Man, that was such a boring way to end an otherwise good week, except for the Steve and Justin scenes. So no one has told Marlena and John about the baby switch? I cannot believe that neither Eric nor Brady let their parent know what was going on or that Sarah took off with Mickey/Rachel. If anything, Brady would be asking his dad for help in tracking them down the second he realized what happened. Ciara - run, fucking idiot, just run. You just watched your boyfriend strangling a man and then left them alone. If Evan turned up dead, that would have been on you. And then to brush it off with a simple Ben's fine to Rafe, so stupid. I hope she crashes her bike because maybe a head injury will knock some sense into her. Rafe - David is like 2 years old, the concept of parentage is abstract at best and he will not remember your talk, let understand what it means, for years. You could tell him the Cookie Monster is his dad and it would make as much sense. Now that I have heard both Steve and Justin plead their cases and Kayla describe the relationships it is clear that they are setting it up as passion (Steve) versus safety (Justin) and, while the safety will seem right in the beginning, in the end passion will win out. How many times were the words safe, safety and secure used to describe Kayla and Justin's love? That being said, this is a soap opera and passion will always win out over safety. Also, as a widow I find it extremely unrealistic that mere weeks after the love of his life died Justin was ready to start a relationship with his sister-in-law. That is not a love story, it is a Lifetime movie starring a former soap actor as the husband who caused the accident to be with the sister-in-law. Justin said that the concert was in early summer and Adrienne died in May - how is everyone, especially Sonny, so freaking nonchalant about their relationship? Sorry, rant over.
  22. Fair enough but I think I am more surprised by how everyone, including Steve, is okay with Justin moving on so relatively fast. I expected Steve to at least ask him how he could move on so quickly from his little sister's death, even with someone as wonderful as Kayla. In real life, I agree with you. The next guy I am with, if there is one, must be one without a lot of baggage or drama. But in a soap opera, the safe choice is almost never the right choice for the heroine. It's the nature of the genre.
  23. Loved the old school feel to this episode (minus Cin). Kayla and Steve were hilarious and loved that Steve is making his intentions clear. The banter in the hospital room felt like an episode from their original run and the chemistry is still there in spades. I really appreciated the talk between Steve and Sonny. Both men loved Adrienne and will miss her and they can agree on that, even if they disagree about Steve pursuing Kayla again. Hope actually taking the blame for what she did as Gina was a nice change of pace although I don't think anyone actually blames her for wanting to kill Abby lol. It took me a moment to recognize the lawyer but she was on GH as Britt. Not sure how I feel about her character just yet - a little too smug for my tastes. Will have to wait and see.
  24. Agreed - watching Jack and Steve together, arguing and pushing each others buttons took me back to the old Days the I loved. And while I understand that it is in character for Steve to push Kayla away because he thinks it is what is right, that has not turned out well for the couple, and specifically Kayla, in the past. As much as I love the character of Justin, Steve and Kayla are meant to be. I will actually enjoy watching this couple earn their reunion, unlike... Brady should be a great character and, when he is not with Kristin, I usually do like him but the way they have had him twist and turn to accept Kristin as his true love is just disgusting. She raped you and your brother, murdered people, kidnapped your son from his mother's womb, attempted to murder your stepmother many times, in just the past few years, and yet she is the love of your life? Are we sure he didn't get switched at birth with John and Isabella's real son? Because I just cannot see Isabella's son, Victor's grandson, as this much of an idiot.
  25. I want to feel sorry for Kristin, I really do, but I just can't. She is a powder keg and it won't take much for her to blow and she will destroy everyone in her path, even if Rachel is in their arms. I just do not see this ending well for anyone. When Eric was talking about how Brady had been worried that Kristin would kill herself after her daughter "died" I wanted someone to mention Hayley. Really, Sarah taken off with Mickey/Rachel is far more understandable than killing a nurse after she found out her daughter died. The way Brady and everyone else just keeps blowing off her death as if it was nothing infuriates me. I was no fan of Hayley but there is no reason Kristin shouldn't have faced some consequence for the death, at least involuntary manslaughter. Maybe I just have a cold heart but I am still hoping that it turns out the whole thing was a mistake and Mickey is actually Sarah's daughter because that really is the best hope that child has for a normal life. Best case scenario, Brady ends up with Sarah and they raise Mickey/Rachel together and Kristin gets supervised visits.
