  1. Nope, you're not alone. As soon as Franken came on, I switched over to Keith Olbermann, Randi Rhodes, and TYT. I'll try to catch an LO'D replay later. The problem is when they all started talking about Mexico, NAFTA, building the wall, my eyes glazed over. Here's my forever opinion of my beloved Democrats. JMHO, any pretense of collegiality with the ReThugs is an exercise in futility, frustration, and amnesia. I watched those SOBs block every single Obama legislative idea that they could. They stood their ground and then were rewarded with absolute power in Washington There is no compromise with these creatures. They're out for blood. They want their corporate masters to own the public schools and to profit from them. They want Wall Street to run Social Security and be able to play their speculation games on those trillions of dollars. The cartoon above from around 2004 illustrates brilliantly why I'm not surprised by the obsequiousness of the Democrats.
  2. 13, 17. 24
  3. You're right. D'oh.
  4. This could not have made me happier. And Cokie Roberts spent years on panels with one of the biggest all-time interrupting know-it-alls, the one and only Sam Donaldson. Compared to Donaldson, Joey Scab is a rank amateur. No matter how much Joe tried to pull his usual bullshit this morning, Cokie was able to get her points across.
  5. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I'm damn near done. Watching this last one, everything is a double-double-double-cross, no one is who they seem to be, the flashbacks are confusing and unenlightening, and this doctor/android/senator villain combo is unimpressive, yet they keep coming out one step ahead of our heroes. The only thing I did like was Mack and Yo-Yo. Other than that, I want my 37 minutes back. And I miss Ward in all of his incarnations, even the ones I got sick of in the end.
  6. At the Lunar New Year, after Lane refuses to help to chisel the pots, Mrs. Kim lectures Lane about being modern woman, paint on her nails, gel in her hair, not wearing her glasses. Then to Lane's bemusement, Mrs. Kim and Zach bond over pictures of Lane as a little girl wearing glasses.
  7. Looks like MSNBC isn't done taking on FAUX Noise castoffs. FAUX recently declined to renew Ed Rollins' contract. Rollins is a Republican strategist.
  8. Would the Emily/Mrs. Kim/Lane/Rory scene in "Emily in Wonderland" count? Rory and Lane look on in awe. Lane says "It's like watching the Williams sisters."
  9. This just made me smile. And I'm really surprised at how much she looks just like her daddy. http://nytlive.nytimes.com/womenintheworld/2017/01/22/photos-emerge-of-malia-obama-on-secret-trip-through-south-america/ (Hope this is the right place for this, my apologies if not.)
  10. It's weird, sometimes I can root for the team that beat mine, the Mariners, like the Blue Jays in last year's MLB playoffs, but root against them and be happy when they lose in the end. Seahawk fan as well, so I detest each AFC team in the AFC championship game equally. I was glad to see that the Steelers lost, but devastated to see NE SB-bound. I'll have to root for the Falcons just because of how much I hate the Patriots.
  11. Any one of those sounds fun.
  12. It's not a matter of fault. It's a matter of what is. Once is a coincidence, twice is a conspiracy, the exact euphemism escapes me, but Rory was with Dean when he was married to Lindsey, Rory is with Logan although he is engaged to Odette. Rory does not want to do every day with a significant other of her own. She likes the distance that an unavailable partner provides. You can call that a character flaw and diss/poo-poo how or why it's there, but it doesn't make it any less real.
  13. Did Greta really say that? I might have to give in and try to watch her because that's what I've been thinking all day and why I didn't attend the Portland Oregon march or watch any of the coverage and why I'm kind of pissed off, too -- where the fuck were you bitches when it really mattered??
  14. I'm single, have been since I was 17 when the boy I married when I was 16 was killed in an oilfield accident. I had a fiance later who I broke his heart by having an affair with another woman. I think I always knew how damaged I was and how much pain I could cause, so I decided after that to only be with unavailable men. I could say "come here, come here, come here," and then when I was done with him "go away, go away, go away." I say all of that to explain how I understand why Rory's preference is for an unavailable man. Lorelai didn't have any long-term relationships while Rory was growing up, so Rory has no idea how to do every day. She knows how to keep someone at a respectful distance. She's really good at that and I understand why.
  15. Taking this to the UO thread.
  16. 30 to win.
  17. This!!! Was just coming in to see if anyone else thought they were baiting us with another possible spin-off. So glad I'm not the only one who would want to watch that. Also relieved I'm not the only one who thinks of Famke Jenssen first as Jean Grey. Lol.
  18. I for one am happy to see a Wesen-of-the-Week in our future. I think that's where the show got lost -- they lost the serial/procedural battle. The problem is when you finish telling the serial story, the show is naturally over. Procedurals can last and have lasted 20 years or more, L&O and the like. They have some character-based stories, but they're peripheral to the main act, in Grimm's case the WotW. I live in a rural area about 20 miles outside of Portland, but I did live in one of the inner residential areas for 15 years, so I'm especially heartbroken that I have lost my chance to randomly run into Sasha during filming season in NW Portland, the Pearl District it's called.
  19. You almost made me feel sorry for him. Then I realized the longer he is alone without his cheering throngs, the less likely he will be to continue the pretense and it will become readily apparent that Pence is happily doing all of the heavy ideological lifting.
  20. I've always liked gnat on crack.
  21. Nope, not the only one digging this show. I was familiar with Dear's theory/book because I never believed OJ was guilty. The rush to judgment was too much.
