Well, going by the 515 photos, Oliver and Susan are going to have some sort of talk ... which looks like it could take place only a few feet away from every other (actually-good-there-for-all-the-big-stories) reporter in Star City, so that should be ... something? Will it be about their "relationship"? Will it be her trying to get an exclusive? (She does have her notebook out, right?) I think the only thing we can know for certain right now is it will most likely be a mess. And if necessary, no one will hear it even if they're standing only a couple of inches away.

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow
insomniadreams88 replied to Grammaeryn's topic in Arrow
Sometimes I think they do. But instead they make us not like Oliver (even more) because of her. -
Yeah I'm going to have low expectations for now. And really hope their conversation includes Diggle thanking Felicity. Because that should have happened in 512.
-
The real big question is: Will Diggle and Felicity actually talk to one another beyond "what did you do?"? They do have a conversation coming up as teased in that quote about him, Oliver and Curtis(?) talking to her, but will that be it for the season? I also feel like I won't get a Felicity/Lance conversation like I've been hoping for.
-
I completely agree. And if they had kept them as friends, we wouldn't have had the weird goodbye and probably instead more of what we saw in the crossover. It's just one of those things where the show just couldn't write a male/female relationship that was friends only and needed to have Felicity with Ray for that period of time. I do like how Ray is written on LoT for the most part more than I ever did on Arrow, but I think the fact that there was a spinoff coming for him - before LoT was a thing - hurt him on Arrow. And now on LoT, you don't even need to know about his time on Arrow really.
-
Oh I wouldn't want to see Felicity all upset either. But it's more about the fact that no one else is saying anything. I guess you could say they're taking their cues from her, but then that just means having to assume stuff about Felicity and her feelings, which is basically what the show keeps forcing us to do.

Yep. Billy as a character has become entirely about Oliver. It's like no one cares or remembers that Felicity was dating him. 514 was entirely about him being a member of the ACU the GA killed and putting it out there that he was set up. Then with the end scene, it became about Oliver as mayor covering it up. Everyone but Lance knows Felicity was dating Billy, but no one has even remarked on that. And I bet if someone told Lance at some point in the episode that he was her BF for months, he would have been shocked because no one is acting like he was. I don't even know why they had Felicity present for Lance finding out what happened since they didn't include anything about her relationship in the conversation. Really, Prometheus should be annoyed because I'm sure he wanted some fallout between Oliver/Felicity but it's also his own fault because he put Pike onto what really happened which made it all about Oliver/GA.

And "WM won't be doing any more interviews because we can see how you'd be confused reading them"?
-
I feel like they should just have Malcolm pop up occasionally to remind Oliver, "You're very handsome. Not especially bright." Especially this season and recent episodes, including this one.
-
Really? That's the first I'm hearing this. Was this at a con? Yeah, but I feel like Oliver's probably due for a trip back in present time, if not this season then next.
-
If he takes Susan and leaves her there, I'd be fine with that. (He can give her a farewell nod from the plane. No goodbye on the beach or anything like that.) That's one way to keep her from exposing what she knows. See, Oliver, it could have been worse. Thea could have done that, not just discredit her as a reporter.

And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition

The thing is, if Thea backtracks, what's going to stop Susan from writing her story? She already told Oliver she would have if she hadn't been fired. Thea gets her her job back, what, because she's a "good person," they can just trust her to keep quiet what she knows? Nope. She'd be even more likely to do something, whether it's expose Oliver or Thea for getting her fired. The best thing Oliver can do? Hope Susan skips town and keeps quiet? (Unfortunately, not happening right now.) Maybe wish he could have Barry run back in time so he never got involved with her? Have Barry run back in time so he can eliminate all photographic proof of him not on the island? Right now, it doesn't seem like Oliver's even thinking about the others when it comes to any concern about him being GA getting out. To me, it seems like he's all, "This is all my secret. I can decide what happens and who knows."

Lyla's back in 519, right? Honestly? I don't think they'd break up Diggle/Lyla because it's the easiest way for them to have a stable relationship they rarely show.
-
No, swimming the entire way back, of course.
-
It's because it's not just his secret anymore and he'd be putting everyone else at risk that I hope if he even considers this, the rest of the team holds an intervention for him. "Oliver, we've called you here today because you've been stupid lately..."

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

There's also the fact that they made a pretty big deal out of the fact that Felicity had money last year and Oliver didn't, but he used hers - to buy that truck, to buy those drugs, to fund his campaign, etc. -
Well, it is only a one-week break... But yeah, I really hope Oliver and Susan are done for romantically because if they're not? What's the point? I think the real hiatus cliffhanger is going to come at the end of 516, perhaps with Prometheus unmasked (for the audience, but not for the team) and that's going to be when we have a couple weeks between episodes?
-
That's only one week without a new episode? I guess there might be another break after this episode or 517? "Oliver gets closer to the truth about Prometheus" just annoys me because it seems like they just keep stretching that out. But at least it sounds like we're getting some Prometheus stuff. And I'm so excited for the Felicity stuff. But I do think she should have figured something like this would happen, that Helix would want something from her.
-
They might have included that in an attempt to try to make the audience feel bad for Oliver/Susan with what followed with Thea getting her fired. They did seem to be trying to make Susan the victim. Only ... the previous episodes happened. The writers might forget. The fans don't.
-
I think this is one of those instances where it looks like the show has forgotten most of what has happened before an episode. Sure, usually it's been the first four seasons when it comes to S5, but now it's starting to be what happened this season too: zero mention of Felicity dating Billy when Oliver killing him comes up, the whole matter of guns from 513 to 514, Oliver's previous feelings about revealing his secret vs. his carelessness now and that "who does that?", etc.
-
Lance has found out something that he missed during his time in rehab every episode since he's been back, right? 512 - Oliver dating Susan 513 - team recruited Tinah 514 - Oliver killed Billy Wonder what's coming up in 515, 516, etc. Are they just going to tell him one thing that happened each episode until the end of the season?
-
After last night's episode, I'm half-convinced she's "mourning" Billy until 520 because that's going to be the next time anyone remembers that she was dating him.
-
If he apologizes to her when he still hasn't apologized to Felicity ... Oh, I will rage. Maybe I should start preparing myself for that to happen now.
