  1. I don’t have it back...after about a half hour on Afghanistan, I have a rerun. Not sure if it will be shown in my market at all
  2. I would agree if I hadn’t seen Blake fall in love with three consecutive Bachelorettes. Three women with nothing in common but their ability to keep his face and name on TV. In my opinion he stayed despite Katie telling him she almost left, because no way was he leaving without being dragged out. He probably thought If Katie left, production would fly in another Bachelorette and they could kick it straight to the Fantasy Suites.
  3. I get that the mom and especially the aunt were intending to come off as no bullshit, let’s get to the facts, we aren’t impressed that we are all on television. Instead IMO they, especially Lindsay, came off as utterly repellent. While I think it was smart to pose questions about Blake’s employment and how the couple would make a home while being on different continents, it was berserk to say “you’re nothing” and “ you’re only here if WE want you.” No, he’s there if Katie wants him. I think we can see this “cut them down and discard them” mentality in how brutally Katie attacked Greg. You’re in love, you’re blissfully happy, why such venom then? I agree with @saber5055 that the uncertainty about Blake proposing was all scripted. I’m a hate watcher and always laughed at the fakery on this show. It seemed evident to me that he would propose and that he was pretending to have doubts. I did not enjoy Tayshia and Kaitlyn as hosts. I’ve said from the start that IMO they detracted from Katie. They were better dressed and inserted a lot of feminine energy into the show that I believe subtracted from Katie’s allure. I feel for Justin, because someone as low in the pecking order as he was would never have made it to the top two if so many men had not bailed.
  4. That’s pretty funny that he needs to go to Africa for a month to exterminate Canadian bugs. Sure, Blake. Go to “Africa” during Covid. It’s a big continent and if you really were a Wildlife Manager you’d be specific as to a country or city. I now officially hate both Blake and Katie. Blake is in love with being well-known now in Bachelor Nation. I think Katie always was into Blake, but she was actually gaslighting Greg. “Just stay, just wait, just trust me” but she couldn’t say she loved him, since she’s the Bachelorette and had three relationships. Well, that didn’t stop her from telling Blake that she loved him, when she was still the Bachelorette and Justin was still there. I agree with everyone else here who thinks that if she’s so happy with Blake she wouldn’t be so viscerally angry with Greg. He embarrassed her and she changed the narrative. I’d love Michael to be the Bachelor if he wants to and can keep his son with him.
  5. Wow. I’m more on Greg’s side in this drama, but I do see a drop of Katie’s side. Here is Blake, telling his family that “love is a word which will be used,” while Greg is bleeding out emotionally, telling Katie how much he loves her and she makes him happy for the first time since his father died. Quite the difference. And of course, Greg did see Katie and Blake on their date, which I suppose made him less confident that he was her one and only. I see Katie’s side in which she promised herself she’d only say “I love you” to the last man standing. I also see the flaw in Greg where he may be the type who needs constant reassurance. Still, If she did indeed love Greg, she had to see that he truly needed more from her. She was in fact on Bachelorette autopilot, while he was done with all aspects of the show and just wanted to know that she was in love with him. Justin is an also-ran in this whole thing, but my favorite characters on this episode were his parents, for having the dignity to refuse to show up. We didn’t even see them on Justin’s phone.
  6. I agree. She seemed more apologetic to Thomas than she should’ve been, and when she was asked if she’d give Michael a second chance, she blew him right off with the “I don’t look back” stuff. ETA: where was Mike P.? I would have liked to see what he had to say about the “you remind me of my mom” comments.
  7. I’m wondering about this too. Yes, it breaks you if your child misses you and can’t understand why you aren’t there. Yes, it was crushing when James said the problem may be that his dad doesn’t want to see him. But, if Michael was truly truly into Katie, he may have waited another week. Of course, a child who’s already lost a mother and feels abandoned by his father is something that cannot be ignored. Maybe his family is at the resort and quarantining for the hometown visit. Maybe the timing doesn’t work because of that. I guess only Michael can make the choice he made, because only he and the grandparents know if James really feels that way, or if he said it randomly and was on to the next thing. What an excellent father he is, though. I hope when Michael is ready, he gets scooped up by the perfect woman for him and James.
  8. Justin and Andrew both, unfortunately. Andrew made jokes about fat women, black women, blonde women. Also was arrested for a DWI. I’ve no doubt that both regret it now and have grown up since then, but AFAIK they haven’t addressed it since it became public. CH was fired for his remarks but I guess that’s because it happened now and not when he was young, and he was the host. But other contestants have been excoriated for their younger social media postings.
  9. Agreed. Especially because Michael’s a widower and not divorced, so James has already lost his mother permanently and he’s too young to process another loss, albeit one that doesn’t scratch the surface of losing his mother. I want Michael to win because I want him to be happy. Not only as a single dad but because he appears so heartfelt in his relationships with the other men. I can’t imagine him winning in any way, though. To me she seems most comfortable with Greg and most sexually attracted to Blake the Snake.
  10. Two physical habits that Katie has which for some reason really annoy me: the way she says “hello” and the way she kisses. Her “helllloooo” when she sees the men always sounds like she’s practically yodeling, and I can’t figure out why when she kisses anyone, her head seems to go up and down like a seesaw. Maybe it’s me who doesn’t know how to kiss or say “hello” properly?????? I was a bit in my feels towards Andrew until he came back. Then the veil was lifted from my eyes and I saw the flashing “AUDITION” sign. Blake. No.
  11. The first guy was brilliant, crazy suit and all, and is solely responsible for them each getting over $100,000. The woman was great also but she didn’t choose the big bet. The guy who bragged about Mensa won the least amount of money. The Chaser made so many mistakes that he gave the contestants time to make up for their own mistakes in the final round. I was glad to see the contestants win, since I really liked two of them. I still don’t really see the need for the Chasers who aren’t playing to sit around in some lounge and make needless comments. That must be a great gig to have.
  12. The camera lingered too long on Connor’s green suitcase prior to his one on one. Once he gave it a little tap, I just knew that he would shockingly get sent home. It was very Chekhov’s Gun. I do think Connor showed some class by telling her he knew what was coming and that she should just breathe. That seemed gentlemanly. I feel for him when he watched this back and saw Katie forget him the instant Blake slithered in. I wonder if Chris Harrison were still there, would they portray a super fan of the show as a bad thing, the way they did with Hunter tonight? I know the purpose tonight was to show that Hunter was fixated on the show and not on Katie, but I don’t think Chris would’ve allowed super fandom to be shown as a negative quality. Remember all those times he “dropped in” on watch parties at people’s houses? He thrived on the whole notion of Bachelor Nation.
  13. No Dr. Joe???? I thought he was mentioned months ago as one of the first ones selected for BIP??? Boo! I hope he’s at least on the roster for one of the late-comers.
  14. Katie, Tayshia and Kaitlyn were all once upon a time contestants who then became the lead. There are countless contestants or leads who then spun that off into lucrative appearances in Bachelor Nation affiliated shows, with Tayshia now even doing commercials. It’s hardly surprising that Thomas contemplated that life when applying for the show. Where he fails, in my opinion, is that not for one second do I believe he has any interest in Katie, but he believes himself to be a smooth talker who can finesse his way through. He’s not a smooth talker at all (demonsterize)??? and very fake and transparent, but it seemed to work on Katie and I suppose that’s all that mattered. I know Katie declares that she wants to be told all these things, but now it’s becoming Bachelors United and they’re sort of making the picks for Katie. I see both Tre’s side as well as Andrew’s. I didn’t like Blake before and I think we are in for a season of this Bachelors United takedown of threats in the house, but I feel that Katie is into him. I don’t watch live because I’m not going to sit through all the commercials, but I don’t see any thread for Week 4.
  15. @LBS my heart breaks. I also have a twin sister who had breast cancer when we were 31, but she survived and we are now 63. I can’t bear to think about what you’ve gone through. Michael’s story resonated with me as well. I had wanted Gregg and I kind of still do, because he seems genuine, although time will tell. Now, though, I’m all in for Michael. Not just because he has a tragic story, but because he is sincere about finding love, in my opinion. He seems to be trying to make a life for himself and James and seems mature, reasonable and witty as well. If he doesn’t win I hope he’d be the next Bachelor, if that’s what he would want. I despised the circle of confession. These are some real deep-seated issues. They require therapeutic intervention, not dumbass Nick Viall trying to stretch his Bachelor Nation paycheck. I’m quite sure all the contestants harbor fantasies of being the next Bachelor, but to me it’s Thomas’ inability to read a room that is so off-putting. Just grinning his way through and evading Katie’s pointed questions. Ugh.
  16. What a trouble maker that Karl turned out to be. First, as was pointed out during the show, this is clearly a competition for him. All his verbiage focused on the competition, not on Katie. Also, he never let her get a word in edgewise. He’s there to speak and be seen and grow his business. Worse, that was a mean-spirited move, to tell Katie that “multiple” contestants are not there for her, but then not giving her any concrete information. He claims he doesn’t want to give her stress, which is precisely what he did, and then can’t back it up. It’s like telling a child “there are monsters under your bed,” and then closing the door and leaving the room. I believe that Cody was there for himself, but I think Aaron is less sincere than he appears. I hope Cody at least took his sex doll with him. I hope we don’t hear anything bad about Greg. He’s the front runner so quickly that I worry it will burn out. I did feel they fit right in with each other. Hunter is a father, too? ETA: I feel that having two other women there changes the dynamics in the house. Even though they are both engaged, it’s still a feminine energy that in my opinion can displace Katie somewhat.
  17. I laughed scornfully for the first hour and 58 minutes. Then I was intrigued by the older Cal emerging from the haze, and if Grace is dead, or just TV-dead. I could easily live without this show and cannot understand why I watch it. It has no connective tissue. Everything is random and contradictory to what came before. The dialogue is trite and most of the acting is wooden. Cal is the “sensitive” one who is most deeply connected to the callings, but the callings told him that Angelina is supposed to be part of the family. Good call on your calling there, Cal. Ben begs everyone to trust him, then when things go wrong he admits he was mistaken, but trust him THIS time. Over and over. Who was watching Eden while the other family members are at NSA? Olive? And no one at all was with Beverly. When Michaela returned from 828, Jared was married to Michaela’s friend, right? Who is also pregnant? So that’s a plot line the writers decided was inconvenient. Better to have Zeke join the love triangle and jettison Jared’s wife. I really did enjoy Lost. The characters’ flashbacks intrigued me, and in my opinion it didn’t get really stupid until the end. To me this was stupid since the pilot. I’ll blame it all on being locked down, even though that’s not why I watch it. I don’t know why. I suppose for moments like the very end, with 5 years or so older Cal. That one moment interested me.
  18. I really have an issue with whichever writer decided to insert the term “lifeboat.” Too many times, writer! This show. I try, but I find I’m not enjoying it. It’s just too ridiculous by now.
  19. I can’t tell if Pete was signaling that he’s leaving or not, but I was really relieved to see him looking so well. Two years or so ago, he may have been unable to keep it together a week after Ariana got married secretly. He looked good, he sounded good, he was funny, he was THERE. I felt it when he said he was happy that he was here and that he’d grown up in front of us. Whether he leaves SNL or not, it’s good to see him doing well. I do think Cecily singing “My Way” sounded like her farewell song. Colin Jost’s reactions to the end-of-season joke swaps were hysterical. I think only Andrew Dismukes really stood out of all the new cast members.
  20. To me, this episode sounded like an hour-long commercial to get attention for three so-called musicians who wanted publicity. I don’t believe 90% of it.
  21. This was a decent enough takeoff on the real Forrest Fenn and his hoax treasure hunt. IRL five people did die looking for it, but I didn’t mind the lighthearted tone. What I dislike is Angela Bassett’s acting in this show. I’ve enjoyed her in other roles, but as Athena, I’m not a fan of her delivery.
  22. I didn’t know much at all about Elon Musk until I googled him after the show. Didn’t know he was South African. Didn’t know he’d had seven sons and one died. Didn’t know his mother was a model. I only knew he was either the current #1 or #2 richest man, Tesla, Space X and a baby with an insane name. When I googled him, I discovered all the things you’ve mentioned. Those are all hateful things which I am not minimizing. However, from reading about Steve Jobs, he was a monster, especially to his daughter Lisa. Yet I bet many of us use his products, and so do many in the cast. I wonder if he would’ve received the same negative attention if he had hosted. Personally I have respect for those who amassed their crazy billions through their own ingenuity, whether I think they are good people or not. It’s Lorne’s and NBC’s decision whether that qualifies anyone to host. I did appreciate that he said he had Asperger’s. In my opinion he was very game for everything, even though he was awkward at times. I actually also like Miley’s voice, even though I’m not a fan of her persona.
  23. I have no feelings for Elon Musk either way. Richest guy, a weirdo, no bearing on my life, but he’s not an actor so who knows why he’s hosting. Maybe Lorne wants something. I’m sure he can afford a Tesla, so maybe he wants a ticket to Mars. Who knows.
  24. I know a relative who died before giving DNA can be found through familial DNA going down the family tree, like with the Golden State Killer, but that requires a lot of samples, a lot of time and expertise. My assumption was that it was either Dennis or the real father, and ruling out Dennis meant the real father was the other possibility. But who knows.
  25. Is that the case that I read on another website, which is referred to for the child’s privacy as the “D.D tape?” I could only bring myself to skim through it as it was too awful, but I did see that there was one main guy who created or distributed that content and was arrested. I didn’t pay close enough attention so I didn’t realize any of this emanated from the Philippines. No matter where or from whom it originated, it was really too much for me to read carefully. I just don’t want to believe this stuff exists on earth.
