  1. YES!!!! It was particularly bad with FT on this episode. Some folks can muddle through trying to remember: oh, this is "supposed" to be filmed that morning, etc., but he just couldn't keep it straight.
  2. Perhaps I just don't like the phrase "Sugar Tits." I'm ok with tongue-in-cheek, satire, etc. but, perhaps it is because I watched all the horrible Nassar footage, and I just thought it was in bad taste.
  3. I totally second your posting. As a watcher of the original, while I appreciated the call-backs and always loved the fun ones (and I did like the episode's implication that the show was timely in the 90s, but maybe not so much in 2018 with social media, Wikileaks, etc.), I was rolling my eyes at the political commentary scattered throughout about the Orange. X-Files didn't have to stoop to that. Something I loved about the original: it didn't matter what side of the aisle you were on, you could enjoy the show. And, was it really necessary to have Reggie call Scully "Sugar Tits?" I mean, come on! Yet another example of: "let's debase the character of Scully!" But, I did like the commentary at the end from Scully with her Goop/Jello: certainly Scully, sometimes it's better just to remember...instead of trying to recapture the magic of the original...you know, like remaking a classic TV show and all....
  4. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the father's actions, I'm just pointing out that, because the writers set it up no other way (e.g., scapegoat friend or CFO), Chris seems to be the only logical person to take over the family business. If he has no intention of running it at all (other than to refer to it as my previously mentioned throw away line), then this storyline was completely pointless.
  5. I see your point, but if it is a family business, then my guess is that the father wanted to do anything possible to keep it in the family...selling a family business would just seem wrong. At least, that's the vibe I was getting. And, since he did want to keep it in the family, and unless there was a throwaway character of the long-time-family-friend-who-is-also-dad's-second-in-command, Chris seems like the only logical choice. Very true. You can also get advanced time if your agency is willing to approve it. I didn't see the reason why he had to come back, what? Later that day? The next day? Anyway....
  6. Wow - Percy went all 16 year old schoolgirl crush at the end there...that was seriously uncomfortable to watch - especially since she seemed to be totally ok with moving on from Chris with Hottie McHotterson from "Monster." Good God his father just f*cking died and now he is responsible for a company with employees and you are all huff-and-puff over the Lady Lawyer and the fact that he won't go out drinking. FFS. I totally agree with this. What were his options other than leaving the company to his somewhat responsible son? It didn't sound like the company was big enough to have the writers write in a scapegoat CFO or Deputy take over for his father to help the plot. It was up to LaSalle. You would think he would have taken the time off (for a second there, I thought Chris was going to act like a grown up and tell Pride he was taking a LOA, but then I thought the writers would not make him that mature). Well, considering he can just run the family business from the NCIS offices, I think they will end up having him say a throwaway line or two about how hard it is keeping up with everything from afar. Otherwise, you are totally right - there was NO point to that storyline. Also, kudos for opening the bar on the night that it almost burned to the ground, Felix was released from the hospital, and daughter survived a kidnapping and attempted murder (looks like that smoke inhalation did not affect her singing voice). I'm sure it was completely structurally sound - you know, it only burned in the back room and all. Ugh.
  7. AMEN to this! The mental f*ckery that goes on within families especially involving the children is disgusting. EP is the real story about polygamy - not these dumb shows (I've watched all of these on-and-off, and these families are not healthy environments for anyone involved). Also, I wanted to shout at her: no sh*t, polygamy is all about competition, sweetheart. No woman is going to sign on to be your live-in nanny, personal assistant, and bedfellow, without primarily wanting to sleep with and produce babies for your husband. These women are absolutely fooling themselves that this will be a beneficial, healthy family environment.
  8. Oh yeah! The suitcase! I feel like Red probably has it.
  9. Agree with this - I couldn't handle both Angsty Liz and Angtsy Ressler having their internal moral conflicts for the rest of the season. Angry Liz has at least injected some new blood into this show lately. And just when Liz has gone all Red, she'll find out that Red is not her father.
  10. Right - like they don't have paperwork to fill out or something? Not sure I like the thought of all work ceasing at the NOLA NCIS office when Pride is away - taxpayer dollars!!! Now that the phrase "HQ" has surpassed "Triple P" as the most annoying phrase used in the show for me, I agree - he has mellowed out his portrayal of Patton and I'm really liking what he adds to the show. Other than that, the episode was sort of cheesy/boring for me.
  11. So there was no actual explanation for that, right? Admittedly, I just watched this last night and sort of half-watched it at that. I thought I missed why he said he did that and was too lazy to go back and replay the scene (not that I wanted to look it anyway).
  12. I tuned in a few minutes in (upon first glance, I though they were planning a baby shower based upon my observations of Mykelti) and caught the tail end of Christine getting all righteous about telling someone that the SW identify as the mothers of all the kids (yeah, right), but I have no idea what the context was. Again, as others have said, she looked totally unhinged explaining it on her TH. Kudos to you all for surviving the episode. I turned it back to Investigation Discovery after the teal, yellow, silver, whatever colors discussion. Good God that was boring.
  13. Did anyone else hear Wyatt Earp in Tombstone while Lizzy was on the phone with Red? All I keep thinking was: "You tell them I'm coming! And hell's coming with me! You hear?? Hell's coming with me!" Agree with you @ottoDbusdriver on the timing issues (and your entire post) - it didn't really make sense, but did allow Liz to look like one crafty badass. And disappointed that we didn't see more anger out of Scottie (despite her dumb "on the beach" explanation of why she isn't grieving like Liz) - your son was MURDERED and you're not throwing your mega corporation behind trying to track the murderers down?? Whatever.
  14. Never thought I would hate the sound of two letters, but I just cannot stand when they refer to "HQ." Does anyone really do that anymore?? Anyway, was amused at the ridiculousness of a drone flying around NOLA - but confused as to why the drone was heading toward baddie and his wife if they were the ones controlling it? Since that was around the time I started half paying attention, it is possible I missed why.... Agree with this! Some decent backstory with a blossoming romance. Of course he was scapegoated and had to quit....
  15. OMG how did I not notice this GIGANTIC plot hole here??? This is totally stupid!!!!!!!!!! If that scene did occur, it would have rivaled most soap opera reveals...
  16. I just had a Seven flashback.... I don't think we saw what was in it? Were you able to read what was inscribed? I couldn't catch it.
  17. Yes - she was actually 13 when her father murdered her, but had been raped since she was 8 - it is the "Milk Carton Murder" of Sarah Rairdon
  18. ^^^YES! I still can't stop thinking about it, either. I was trying to catch some of the news articles and I thought one of them read that he had raped her for 5 years...which meant it started when she was EIGHT YEARS OLD! Oh my God that poor child. I'm surprised that her friends said she was outgoing and friendly and good in school. I would not have been surprised if they described her as withdrawn and sad. That follow up interview with him was abhorrent - I too hope he burns in hell for what he put his own daughter through.
  19. And: Pride gets mad + Pride has sex + Pride gets "fired" + Pride saves Hamilton + Pride brings down corrupt judge + Pride heals family drama = Tuesday.
  20. I thought they would have at least one parting picture or something (I do like a cheery montage). Was surprised that he wasn't on paternity leave or something through the holidays.
  21. But knees are...and they must be pixelated!! :-P
  22. I think this is one of the blind items on Blind Gossip (TM) - he's been able to get work/accolades despite the past accusations...so this has to be worse (even though the past shit was terrible) since the biopic is now shelved and CAA dropped him? 'bout time. ETA: Blind Gossip solved it: it was Bryan Singer
  23. And, before the murder, correct? Isn't it the norm for people who are stalkers to have some sort of obsessive personality with others? Or anger issues? But, I mean, DNA is pretty irrefutable.... Out of curiosity, were there any extra interesting tidbits from the podcast?
  24. that's because this show is incredibly boring. :-) Also, I'm pretty sure Lyor not disclosing his marital status to the WH and playing interactive online games from the WH exposing it to hacking would be acts worthy enough to get his security clearance pulled...or at least suspended. And you cannot tell me that Emily sneaking into Lyor's press conference (because, you know, she's POTUS's Chief of Staff) would not have caused at least one reporter to ask her what is going on! Is there nothing that she cannot do??? Good thing she doesn't actually specialize in any one type of law...she would be super bored as the one-and-only White House counsel if she didn't have to argue probable cause in defense of the WH press secretary. Phew!
  25. RIGHT!!??! I couldn't believe the rage I felt for the police in this situation (THIRTY MINUTES!!) in addition to those evil, evil a$$holes (my God, calling that poor girl by her nickname? He should have been shot on sight). I was totally ok with those two evil men being sentenced to death (agree with the sister - some crimes just need the death penalty), but then their sentences get commuted, and then one of those f*cks wants a new trial?!?! NO!
