  1. So... Drew can go around mouthing off unproven accusations about Ned at will, but Tracy can't about Drew. Gotcha. A Carly it is.
  2. It was amusing that the Baeumlers dinged Alison's team for not taking full advantage of the view, when they, themselves, outright obstructed the view more than once in their house on last season's Rock the Block. I guess it's a "do as I say, not as I do" type of situation. I was really underwhelmed by all of the kitchens this week. They seem way smaller and chintzier than last season's. I guess the right one won, but that's faint praise. It really could have used a splash of color. If they'd been able to count in the powder room Alison's team did this week, in spite of that horrendous wallpaper, they probably would've won. Does HGTV tell the suppliers and outsourced workers to screw up, for the added drama? 'Cause there were a lot of screwups this week.
  3. I agree, but what if? With all the talk of Oscar, her first dead boyfriend... Maybe she's gonna get a history like Michael's, with most of his partners dying. (Why not Willow, Fates? Why not Willow?) Cameron may be lucky to have gotten loose of her, in more ways than one. Truth to tell, though, much as I find Dex yawnable, I'm not up for the Joss drama that would follow, she's already so full of herself as it is. "No one's ever loved like I have! No one's ever suffered..." She's so self-centered, I wonder if it's ever occurred to her that Dex might have a lost love in his past. That would really frost her cookies.
  4. Oh, Alison, I absolutely would question my doctor or lawyer if I needed clarification on something they were doing or thought they were leading me astray, so, no, designers don't get that pass either. It seems like Alison is leaving the hiring, etc. of contractors this season entirely to her clients. I get it. Her clients totally got screwed by that first contractor laying the foundation, though. I hope they can get some recompense for that. Levi broke my heart there. He was the best part of this episode. I got all verklempt at the smile on his face at his wife's reaction to the finished product. He's a keeper.
  5. Fast-forwarding through the parts of this show you're not interested in really does make it more bearable. Today, that included Curtis and Drew (insufferable, hypocritical douches), Molly and TJ (baby rabies and TJ's non-compelling actor), and Diane and Carly (Carly). Though I did see the bit with Carly letting in Diane through the improperly hung door. That only works in nearly flawless movies like Double Indemnity, and GH is nowhere close to flawless. What kind of world are we living in now that Sonny is not fast-forward material? At first, I didn't recognize Joss in Dex's little fantasy, and I thought, whoa, he's got another woman! He's playing Sonny, Michael, and Joss! Which would make a way better show.
  6. It's back for Season 3 on June 4th, and with a twist! Yay? Too bad the twist isn't a pair of new judges.
  7. I know he's not Raymond, but I have a hard time believing Marie would let Robert go. Robert is my favorite character on this show, but I'm glad the spin-off didn't happen. I loved the life goes on as it's always gone on feel of the finale, but, admittedly, I'm not a fan of upheaval, just for the sake of upheaval, in sitcom finales. It always seems inauthentic. Same for after the fact upheaval, just for the sake of a spin-off.
  8. I really enjoyed Cruel Summer, too. I was hoping they'd carry over some of the same actors, a la Ryan Murphy, particularly the two young female leads because they were so good, but alas. I'm a bit leery because they have a new showrunner, but I'll still be tuning in.
  9. It will never not enrage me to see either Sonny or Carly, AJ's murderer and abettor, welcomed anywhere on the Quartermaine estate. I was surprised to hear Tracy even mention him yesterday, because Show gives a good impression it wants to forget AJ even existed. It sure wants to forget Sonny murdered him. At this point, I'd say Willow doesn't deserve Nina. I'm more concerned about what it will do to Nina's relationship with Sonny, and I must be living in Bizarro world because I haven't been interested in Sonny since the 90s. CW really does have some kind of magic going on that's rubbed off on MB because he's actually come alive again as an actor. I thought the same thing when it came up yesterday. I thought Tracy might even volunteer to be tested, but nope. If this were another kind of show, say L&O, I'd wonder if the Carlys are just going through the motions of trying to save Willow, but are really plotting her demise. Well, we've got the Pikeman group waiting in the wings. Can't wait! There's nothing I love more on GH than mob plots! Said me, never.
  10. Wow, Robert is rough with a cell phone. And I can't believe Diane bothered to have that ugly suit dry cleaned. Put it out of its misery, I say. Well, this was a rather boring episode, and aggravating. Ned lost points with me. He's apparently willing to cover for Michael and Drew and Carly, and their shady insider trading escapades, who were doing it for nothing but money and business, but he's all up in Valentin's grill for faking his death and causing some emphemeral appearance of fraud when he's, I don't know, saving his daughter and possibly the world. And don't even get me started on the "better in the hands of a Q" while gazing at Michael. Michael's only a Q when it comes to being given a job and free room and board. I think it's a reasonable concern to want ELQ in the hands of someone who can focus on it - That would be Ned. - but Michael's getting married, plotting revenge on Sonny, and dealing with a dying partner, while Drew is off to save the world. Along with Valentin. So why Michael or Drew are a better choice, I have no idea. Does anyone, except Nina and, perhaps, Maxie, care about saving Liesl for any reason beyond her body parts? And I really wish this show would acknowledge that for some of we, women, motherhood is not an aspiration.
  11. I would love to be excited about the prospect of Carly and Drew getting ratted out to the SEC, but I know two things: First, Carly will suffer no consequences whatsoever, and second, any and all crap raining down from it will land on Nina's head. Prove me wrong, Show! I dare ya! I distinctly remember Michael being there, too, when all these talks were going on with Drew and Carly and him, but I guess we're supposed to have forgotten that. Has CM had his own storyline in the time he's been playing Drew, or has he just continued to be a prop in other characters' storylines? Even the insider trading and relationship with Carly are all about Carly. It really is her world.
  12. Aw, I was hoping we could keep her. As to CS, I won't be sorry to see the end of his plaaannn, finally, but I've enjoyed watching his Victor, so I hope we'll see him again sometime.
  13. Oh, I fully support everyone's right to be fairly represented, reasonable doubt, and all that, literally went to school on the subject, but with Diane... My feeling is that the ground she stands on when she spouts off about this very subject is more of a sinkhole, because I believe she's all about the money first, and any idealistic beliefs are a very far second if they're thought of at all. What I didn't get about the Ethan thing is why the auctioneer said he's considered a one-of-a-kind item, and why he said he was of personal interest to so many of the potential bidders? Huh, Show? Please explain.
  14. Seriously! Yes, you both work with "complicated" people, but the difference, the big difference, Diane, is Robert is trying to put as many of them away as possible, for the public good, while you're trying to get them off, for money. Sheesh, I can't even with this show's morals sometimes, expecting us to believe at all that what Robert and Diane do is the same thing. I did notice her hands shaking when she had her back turned to Carly and thought that was a good, authentic choice.
  15. "Principles," Diane? I don't think that word means what you think it means. And don't even compare how compromised your principles are with Robert's because, hey, you're the clear winner. I noticed Willow the Virtuous didn't include Nina in her building bridges sermon. Also notice that Sonny is getting all the credit for using his resources to track down Liesl (and their ignoring the hypocrisy of letting the big, bad mobster do so), when, in large part, he did it at Nina's request. Sure, he would've done it anyway probably or if Michael had asked, but that's not what happened here. Taking donations for a bid on offing Ethan. Hey, we'll do it the most painless way possible, by erasing him completely from GH history.
  16. They memorably used "Daydream Believer" in one of the Yates episodes.
  17. Sonny's "Ain't my daughter, ain't my problem" response to the Joss/Dex "reveal" was pure gold. Guess that puts Joss in her place. And her tough girl attitude crumbling in the face of Sonny's shrug of indifference was pure magic. I sure hope so. I don't know what it is, but Sonny is immeasurably more tolerable with Nina than he ever was with Carly. Still don't like him, but I no longer reach for the remote to mute or fast forward when he's onscreen. Maybe it's just me, but MB seems like he's enjoying playing the turns Sonny's life has taken. Yep, it was Kevin. Laura said he's one of the few people that Esme has become comfortable with since the whole amnesia thing.
  18. I was wondering that, too, as well as why he wouldn't just tell the truth about Gladys. Also, finding it in the pocket of a jacket that was left unattended and accessible to anyone doesn't exactly seem like rock-solid proof to me. Oh, glory. That might just be the best storyline of the year. Please tell me someone's writing the fanfic. It'd be better than the show's writers' efforts, seeing as they are allergic to drama and stakes. As to Victor's plan, what the heck is it, really? Does anyone, like, say, the writers know what it is? When he was explaining himself to Eileen, it sounds like the plan is to fix climate change, in which case... Why all the murder and mayhem? Just fix it. Trust me, the world will thank you. That makeup, especially for someone connected to Deception, a cosmetics company, was a crime. Joss criticizing someone else for their sense of entitlement is... rich, to say the least. When they showed Lucy's dress dragging over the felled felon's foot, I thought she was losing it there, though that didn't seem the place for the best effect. Still, it was a nice fake out. Elsewhere, who thinks Anna is gonna die? Hands, anyone? DS9 is the best Trek ever. Truth.
  19. Report details sexual abuse of over 600 children by Archdiocese of Baltimore priests since 1940s.
  20. The biggest mysteries of the show, for me, were how they maintained their lifestyle with three kids, that house, and Debra not working, on just Ray's salary alone, and why Ray wanted to write a book so badly when he hated reading so very much. Actually, the biggest mystery for me, I guess, is that he was a writer at all. I have a very hard time believing someone who doesn't read can be a good writer.
  21. Ew, indeed. It wouldn't surprise me, though, if the writers did some fancy dancing, and had the baby turn out to be Spencer's after all. It's still inconceivable to me that no one has thought to do a DNA test on this kid. I mean, when has Esme's word ever been enough for any of these people? I've said it once, I've said it twice, I'll say it thrice: Still holding out hope it's the Canadian fisherman's.
  22. That's what I was envisioning, not a marriage of convenience, but Spencer making her believe (over time, because Esme is far from stupid) that he has feelings for her so he can keep his baby brother (downs a shot) close. Trina may or may not know the truth of why he marries her, but angst and drama and yearning and all that soapy stuff would ensue. Me, much as I find Ace adorbs, I lament how much of these three young people's lives revolve around a baby already. I hope they don't make it worse.
  23. I'm more concerned he'll marry Esme. Soooo... Victor is planning on killing Esme to get Ace, I'm guessing? Between that and Ava's threat if Esme gets her memories back, I'm getting the Esme's gonna die vibe. But, there's a lot of mileage still in the character, so maybe not. We'll see. Geeze, Lucy is beyond annoying right now. Lucy, dear, the Nurses' Ball (and your ego) are not worth yours or other people's lives. Maxie. Mac is your dad.
  24. They can try that one out as hard as they want, but, nope. You can't get to him face-to-face, little girl, text, phone, Dear John letter, or, better yet, keep your pants on till you can see Cameron face-to-face. It's not like she and Dex have been waiting years or are star-crossed lovers or some such. I'm not even sure her feelings at that point went beyond just being hot for Dex. And Cameron is her dearest, bestest, longest friend, or so she keeps saying. She really is a Carly, a horrible person the writers constantly shellac with teflon. Edited to add: Good glory. Yes, Laura, Joss did the right thing by breaking up with Cameron, but way too late. I don't know if Laura knows about the cheating or not, but geeze, Show, stop trying to make Joss the wounded party here.
