  1. I'd just love to be the friend who loaned Alison hundreds of thousands of dollars for her dream home, only to find out it's already not her forever dream home.
  2. I was amused (?) by Austin putting the thing on Curtis's arm to take his blood pressure, then taking it off just a beat later without actually taking it. Not to mention his leaving to drop a file off at his office, so he could catch Ava snooping, of course, then went right back to Curtis's room. Time management. It's a thing, Austin.
  3. Good golly, if they get Sonny and Carly back together again - 'Cause the anvils, they be fallin'. - it's gonna get ugly all up in here. And by here, I mean me. Anybody else think that bag of coffee is a big ol' bag of money?
  4. The bromance is for real! Not gonna lie, that really got me in the feels. It felt really genuine on both Rami's and Christian's parts. Not gonna discount the possibility that it was always the plan for Christian to use his Save for Rami, but, whatever, I loved it. As to the actual challenge, I would've cried foul if Laurence hadn't won. Her design this week was on a whole other level than everyone else's, even with the spikes and the weird breast cups, hats... what have yous. I think the judges got the top and bottom right for each pairing, with the exception of Kara Saun and Anna's matchup. I would've switched them. Anna's wasn't great, but I hated Kara Saun's. Talk about dated and fugly. I would've sent Prajje home. His was a hideous hot mess. Every week, I dislike Brandon and Elaine more and more as judges. I just don't feel they have the bona fides to be judging these designers. Oh yeah, and Korto, it's not the best "person" who wins. (You'd have a hard time winning that contest against Rami. Anyone would, he's so lovely and gracious and grounded.) It's not even necessarily the best designer, just the best design this week.
  5. For me, Rami's was far and away the best, both in execution and design. Loved it! He should've won, but Kara Saun's was a creditable win compared to the rest, even though I felt it verged on costume. Up close, I also didn't think the execution was all that. Could not believe Prajje's was in the top, because, wow, that was not good. (Also, so much for anonymous runways when you plaster your name on the waistband of your model's underwear. With the way the designers talk and cheer and have signatures, they really ought to just give up the conceit of an anonymous runway. It's impossible in practice.) The best thing about it was the jacket, but the challenge was not about jackets. Laurence had the same issue - excellent jacket, but not so much for the actual challenge. Her underwear looked like the waistband of pullup diapers and like an afterthought, as well, in spite of what she said. Korto's looked great walking down the runway, but up close, during judging, no. You could really see the skirt was last minute and how ill-fitting the bralette was. Fabio was the right one to go, though. I've never liked his designs, and this week's challenge really highlighted one reason why - he takes great bodies and makes them look dowdy, even half-clothed. Rami was robbed!
  6. Speaking of therapy, I've missed a lot the last couple weeks dealing with RL stuff. Sasha's doctor, I know what he's done, but do we know why? What's he getting out of this?
  7. Tommy Lee Jones - One Life to Live. Ray Liotta - Another World? I'm excited for NAC, too. He was a real find. I'll miss him if he leaves, but, really, good for him for having the shot.
  8. I am confused. This correspondent seems to be saying that SVU has finished filming their next season already, so they will not be impacted by the strike. This cannot be true, is it?
  9. So, how many of that white puffy couch does Alison have in stock, or is she just shifting the one around from house (Atlanta) to house (her LV house) to house (her BFF's house)?
  10. Yes, Anna, yes. Last ruffles were plastic. These were polyester. Totally different thing. These judges suck. In spite of themselves and their confusing top and bottom designers, they picked a creditable winner and a creditable loser. Nevertheless, these judges still suck.
  11. I dunno, I remember the scene after Carly bought the stock. Ned told Drew and Michael they'd committed insider trading, and both looked absolutely gobsmacked. Therein followed Drew's visit to Alexis wherein she told him "Yeah, pinhead, that's the textbook definition of insider trading." Yeah, these two, real hotshot businessmen. Neither one of them has a scintilla of the business sense of the real* Qs. *Those who are Qs all the time and don't just use the name for jobs, money, and lodgings.
  12. That bedroom from Ty's team? A monstrosity, both aesthetically and practically. What's the person on the far side supposed to do in the middle of the night, when they need to use the bathroom? Disturb everyone or suffer in silence, I guess. Plus, there was nothing extra in this room, to up the value or give visitors something to do, like in the other teams'. I remember the judges commenting on wanting to see more games and stuff for kids in Alison's house, and remarking on the stuff in Taniya's house, but I don't remember them saying anything about the lack in Ty's. Yeah, and what's up with the judges not commenting on that ridiculously tiny closet? At least their bathroom was nice. Color! At last! But that bedroom subtracts value from the house. The first thing I'd have to do, if I bought that house, would be to destroy that bed and get rid of it. Right team won. After adding an extra bedroom, they'd have had to really screw up something to lose.
  13. I agree with your larger point of it not being a good idea to let the actors dictate their storylines - Talking to you, AG! - but this is one instance where MB's wishes/instincts worked, even if just serendipitously. I won't go so far as to say it was Sonny's salvation as a character - Too late for that. - but, for me at least, Sonny with Nina/CW is infinitely more watchable than he ever was with Carly. I'm all onboard with giving Carly a rest for six months, heck, a year. Overworked and overused without letting any real drama or consequences touch her. Boring and predictable, while still be infuriating, but not in the love to hate kind of way. Just... hate. OMG, @TeeVee329! That pic perfectly illustrates my reaction to so many characters and storylines on this show! LOL!
  14. Even the tempters seem over her already. If any one of them goes after her, I'll have to believe it's just for the extra airtime.
  15. Did that guest judge even have eyes? All I saw were heavy dark eyelids. Mila's wasn't great, but I would've sent Laurence home. It was half designed, half done, no point of view, and, really, Laurence came across like this challenge was beneath her. She seemed really unengaged. Brittany made a very pretty dress and I'm sure there was a lot of effort involved, but, again, the materials were doing all the work for her. There was nothing new about that silhouette - We've seen that dress countless times before. - and she even used her unconventional materials in ways we've seen before. And, yes, Nina, you saw her point of view? What, pray tell, was it beyond "pretty"? For me, Kayne's and Viktor's were the best. I'd give Kayne's the edge, but I'm okay with Viktor winning. He should let Korto use his fancy Singer machines, if she wants to, since it's thanks to her that he was able to finish. Two weeks in a row getting rid of one of the older women isn't a good look, PR. Let's not make it three in a row, or we might have to have words. Nina's comment about bleeding pandas giving her joy? Okay, that got me. LOL! But I do think some of these people need to study up on the meaning of "whimsical."
  16. That's the way I feel about Ty's team's house. I love green, so that would not be off-putting to me, but the endless, relentless sand color in Ty's house is, very much so. It's so blah. Really, team, no splash of color at all? Like @CalicoKitty with the green, if I saw pics of this house at a realtor's site, I'd pass it on by based on the color scheme alone. That, coupled with the execution problems and what I saw as kind of a crowded, jumbled mess of a layout, I couldn't believe this house won. I'd have given it to Taniya's team. When your only critique is the furniture isn't taking full advantage of the view... Guess, what, Mr. B.? Couches can be lifted and moved. I, too, keep wondering why someone doesn't put in bigger windows for the view. I mean, when you're sitting on the couch, those windows are too small and high to take advantage of it anyway, no matter which direction the couch is pointing at. Really, these houses, likewise the budget, seem too small for any "Wow!" moments. I get the criticisms of Alison and agree with some of them, but I gotta say I'm not impressed with the one guy on her team, either. Not the construction guy. He seems to be able to do no wrong when it comes to the execution, but the other guy seems a real complainer. When the going gets tough, he just wants to whine, half-ass it, or, worse yet, do one of his art pieces. Alison's right on that point. Unless he's a famous artist, now, that's not gonna add value.
  17. I do not believe Vanessa knows the definitions of the words grace and elegance. Okay, girl (Sorry, don't know her name.), when the guy (Sorry, don't know his name.) says he hates being cut off, maybe don't immediately cut him off. It never fails to amuse me on this show when one of the tempters complains about being disrespected (On Day 1, yet.) when they're literally there to steal someone else's partner.
  18. At this point, I'm going to go with Ned's amnesia being psychological. I mean, his whole family opted to believe Drew over him with the whole SEC thing. You have this hero of goodness and innocence charging into Ned's home and sucker-punching him. Even after Olivia finally believes him, she's all "You be the better man, Ned, and kneel down to whatever Drew and Michael want." Not sure that makes Ned the better man, Olivia, but you do you. Just don't cry bitter tears of outrage and sorrow if Ned's psyche decides "I'ma be Eddie Maine for a while. Where are those leather pants?" The saddest part is that this storyline is just in service to trying to make us believe Nina is more horrible than Carly. Sorry, Show. Carly's got a few decades of horribleness on Nina. She's earned that belt. Ugh, I hate stupid writing that makes characters do stupid things just to further a plot, that turns out to be stupid.
  19. Definitely the right winner. I loved Kayne's design, and it surprised me, coming down the runway, because it didn't look like it was going to be much from the bits we saw in the workroom. Nora's design deserved to be in the bottom, and I wasn't surprised she was eliminated. It seemed a foregone conclusion before the challenge was even given that she'd be the first one out. I'm sorry to see her go. I would've eliminated Viktor. His was better designed and executed, but it was a costume not fashion. Brittany's was lovely, but it wasn't much of a design, per se. The fabric was doing all the work for her. Conversely, Kara Saun should've let her fabric do more of the work for her. Man, she overworked that design. It was surprising to me that she put something so fugly down the runway. I remember liking her work from Season 1. ::sigh:: I have never and will never understand the love PR's judges have for Fabio's work. I just flat-out don't like his aesthetic, and this week was the first time I thought Mimi was unable to carry it off down the runway. She looked short and no-necked in this design. Still dislike Elaine and Brandon as judges, and still think the show needs a host. I'd love it if they brought Karli back, but, if not her, at least someone. And I wish, when Christian does his walk-throughs of the workroom that he'd visit each designer, like Tim did. This iteration of PR tips its hand as to who is going to be in the top and the bottom too often with his walk-throughs.
  20. Overall, the designers I remember from this show for their designs are mostly from the first several seasons, and the ones I remember from later, like Hester Sunshine, I remember for the wrong reasons. Really, really could do without Hester. Really, Nina? Really? Of all the designers that have been on the show, these are the ones you most wanted to see again? More like, these are the ones you could get to come back. A couple of them I don't know why, they seem to be enjoying pretty successful careers.
  21. When the final appraisals come around, that extra bedroom and last week's powder room from Alison's team will count. It's too bad they don't during the current week(s), though, if it would help win $3k.
  22. How many "homes" does Alison have? There's her apartment in Chicago, this house, and didn't she and her brother keep that condo in Atlanta, her latest toy, last season? I know I've seen that couch in the LV house before.
  23. I'm holding out hope that Ms. Wu jiggered with the paternity results, for reasons, even though Curtis told her not to. I mean, the first results are never the real results, right? Isn't that Soap 101 or something?
  24. Has there been any movement on finding a place to air Season 4? Are they even looking? I've heard nothin'.
  25. Another week of the right team won... I guess. Really meh results, again. The space I liked the best was the bathroom from Taniya's team. (I love green, Mr. Baeumler. Suck it.) And their bedroom was lovely, but small. I'd give the win to Alison's team for the execution and spaciousness alone. Not keen on that art wall, though. Ty's team was a hot mess. The execution was bad, it wasn't really finished, and I thought the wall behind the bed was hideous. Was there a way to even move those shutters out of the way of the windows? And don't even get me started on the continuation of that sand color throughout. Really blah. There's plenty of sand outside, team. You don't need to bring it inside!
