  1. I pay attention to the weirdest things. When the employee handed them their clamshell sandwiches, I thought "but they didn't pay"! I backed it up and sure enough the DA tapped her card, but I'm pretty sure Will never did.
  2. When he was getting dressed I was thinking "that's a really nice garage he's got" LOL
  3. I've never watched her other shows, but I saw her on an episode of (I think) Jeff Lewis' home renovation show, and she was pretty insufferable. She thought herself very adorable.
  4. I enjoyed the last episode. Maybe I'm just dense, but why was Joe (apparently) asking for a transfer? If he (and everyone) thought that Vera was taking the promotion, wouldn't he get her job? Or did he think she was sticking around? Of course we knew when we saw the stray dog how that was going to end up LOL. Have we ever seen Vera wear pants before her walk with her dog on the beach?
  5. Way back when Madison concentrated on the beachfront houses along the PCH; I know that some of them burned in the Palisades fire.
  6. when we visited an olive oil "farm" in spain they had us try some orange-peel-infused olive oil. They served it over ice cream. Very good!
  7. Maybe not. Nice assisted living places are about $7k a month. Round the clock care is more like $20k per month. Even a very affluent person runs through $20k per month pretty quickly.
  8. thanks; I'll look for it. I have a fair number of cable channels, but that one's not on my "favorites" list which is the only thing I ever look at LOL. I'll check it out.
  9. yuk, I don't have any of these. Or is Freeform actually free?
  10. I've been on a marathon of watching Vera, and I see, over and over, a suspect being gently question (i.e. grilled) by Vera, and the suspect has an attorney by their side, and they start spilling their guts, and the attorney (sorry, solicitor) just sits there mum, sometimes taking a few notes. They never say "stop talking you dummy!"
  11. i gave more thought to this than it deserved. I think the face on the screen was the partner on the facetime call.
  12. I think the snow in most commercials is fake.
  13. Found an article about the barcodes. HL denies that it's about the sign of the beast, but gives a pretty pathetic excuse for why they do it. Something about the "human touch." https://thehill.com/homenews/nexstar_media_wire/4003952-hobby-lobby-doesnt-use-barcodes-heres-their-explanation/
  14. Thanks! Interesting that a lot of them have candy-stained-glass windows. Hmmmm.
  15. On the first challenge I was bemused by how many people added additional flavors to whatever the "goal" flavor was. Why Why Why? I think Natasha particularly did that. Is it really desirable to have orange AND pistachio AND almond AND blueberry AND lavender (I kind of made that up but you get the idea)
  16. Dylan made the NY Times "Most Stylish People" of 2024 :) https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/05/style/best-dressed-people-2024.html?unlocked_article_code=1.hk4.b_UH.W6YrlU5d6kT-&smid=url-share (gift article) The roguishly handsome 20-something contestant brought some heat of a different variety to the latest season of “The Great British Baking Show.”
  17. Thanks!
  18. ^Unfortunately that article is behind a paywall
  19. (Having never watched the show) I thought, no she looks like Mayim Bialik LOL. (Jeopardy fan here)
  20. ^ and according to Wikipedia: The origin of the term "friends with benefits" is difficult to trace, even though the phrase is in regular use and a familiar part of the current social lexicon. The earliest known use of the term is documented in Alanis Morissette's 1996 song "Head over Feet" in the lyric "you're my best friend, best friend with benefits".
  21. I just watched episodes 3 and 4. I wasn't that fond of this story. Very convoluted with everybody lying constantly. When the sister used the term "friends... with benefits" I just about snorted. That phrase was most assuredly NOT a thing in that time period.
  22. I agree. I hate those kind of statements. Just go back to your bakery and please don't show up on my TV again.
  23. What is HITG?
  24. My dad moved to a continuing care place after my mother died. Hated it, moved to a one floor condo a year later and was very happy there, where he could cook for himself and so on. Had to give up his car after two accidents, but paid someone to take him shopping. All was good until he broke his hip. The cost of 24 hour care would have been exorbitant, so he had to move to an AL place. He hated it, and died 6 months later. Getting old is not for the faint of heart. For people, unlike my father, with out a million in the bank, the choices are even worse.
  25. The snowflake bread is so pretty. Michael Keralan did a version of this years ago which I actually took the trouble to look up and make. It's actually quite easy (if you've got a picture and good instructions) and VERY impressive visually. https://thegreatbritishbakeoff.co.uk/recipes/all/michael-keralan-star-bread/
