  1. Meghan McCain is convictionless and has no coherent worldview. She regularly doubles down on the idea that she has a solid work ethic and a flair for politics and, in the same breath, namechecks her father. Why not *show* the audience you understand something rather than *tell* us that you do? (I keep waiting for her to show off that ivy league education.) She is expert at drawing attention to herself as the quintessential product of nepotism and can't distinguish between negative and positive attention. She's nearing Ann Coulter status as a figure who seems to get off on being hated because she's "misunderstood" or "the other side is just too dumb to get it." Everyone knows she'd be a cashier at Lane Bryant if she had a different last name. These temper tantrums aren't entertaining and the show has become barely watchable since she returned. I've adjusted my expectations and stopped tuning in for the most part. She is the "missing stair" that everyone is afraid to deal with directly.
  2. Not sure why anyone cares about this loser creature. He's been on sixty five shows, has jumped fences, etc and still isn't interesting. Hooray for coming out, but please just go away.
  3. I, for one, love the fashion! Really thrilled she's bringing back Normcore.
  4. This seems inherently conservative: the issues have been resolved, done and dusted, and to fight for anything now is somehow unreasonable and entitled. I imagine this position is seductive to a lot of people
  5. Yes, I remember Duff's interactions with Lorenzo being uncomfortable. I also remember Lorenzo trying hard to charm Nancy by injecting alcohol into his desserts and "teasing" her a bit during judging. He probably felt vulnerable.
  6. Kardea is great! Duff *really* wants Derek to know how mediocre he is, even going so far as predicting that he'll have to endure a redemption coconut cake from him next week. Hope you'll be ok, Duff. He and Nancy were disproportinately upset about the signatures too, but I think her limited attention span puts a bit of a cap on the negativity. Being called out by Duff seems to land harder.
  7. I love when Sally gets Kyle alone and fully berates/emasculates him then abruptly changes course and says something like, "We should all be friends! Let's hang out sometime!" I am enjoying MM a lot too. It took me awhile to warm up to Amanda, especially when she was first paired with Billy, but the character is rounder now. Or maybe that's just testament to MM's range. Haha, poor Sharon. She always thinks she's outsmarting everyone. I like the "on the case" pun!
  8. Right. It's very confusing. That dessert + a few others this season were less "spring" and more "six more weeks of winter." I assume great taste must distract the judges from flaws in presentation.
  9. Sounds eerily similar to a daytime talk show host (hint: blonde, shrill, dresses like a clown, has "opinions"...) Can't believe Gaetz is resolute in making things worse and worse for himself. Wait, yeah, it sounds about right.
  10. I think of (most) of her facial expressions as a "just had a lobotomy look." She is a pretty bad actress and, for some inexplicable reason, a fan favorite. Really want to see some scenes with Ashland and Phyllis.
  11. That's almost too much to hope for right now.
  12. Welp, I hear the weather is gorgeous in England. (The champagne has never tasted so good!)
  13. I swore off this show for a couple of months. For some reason I tuned in today just in time for Meghan to educate me about Martin Luther King and identity politics. Back to swearing it off. Thanks, Meghan! Someone convince her she's overqualified and maybe she will voluntarily take her genius elsewhere.
  14. Such a headscratcher! Keya seemed, rightfully, taken aback by her critique. Not sure what the judges wanted from the bakers in this challenge. The macaron tower was the color of used chewing gum and the golden stars were obscured. It seemed like a cake more suitable for an existential crisis than a baby shower. Also rooting for Derek. I want his red ribbons to morph into a huge blue ribbon at the end.
  15. This is so true. Sharon is a control freak and is genuinely puzzled that she would find herself in a position of being caught off guard. I guess Sharon is willing to learn if she designs the lesson plan and gets to inflate her grade at the end of the course. I'm very familiar with narcissistic manipulation. A key feature is lashing out at someone and moving on before the injured party has time to register the abuse fully, let alone forgive. Did she expect to apologize to Sheryl and get instant closure? It must be infuriating to work with someone who is so self-involved.
  16. Are Kaitlyn and Taysia working together on the upcoming seasons or will they each get a Bachelorette season to host? I assume the latter.
  17. I can't get used to his beard at all. At first i thought it was a mask pulled down.
  18. I didn't know this detail. I've always been curious about the Bachelor/ette vetting process in general.
  19. It was one of the most embarrassing segments I've seen on tv recently. She really wanted Lisa to be a character witness! I was expecting her to lash out at Elaine more, but she seemed particularly bothered by Sheryl. Elaine went about this intelligently and made a good point about holding friends accountable vs being blindly loyal (or something to that effect). I also agree that Amanda desperately wanted to turn the temperature down and keep things as civil as possible. I couldn't tell if it was my bad tv connection or if Mrs. O was saying curse words that were being cut out?
  20. Bella's mom is one of the reasons why I think parents should not be a part of the show. She looked miserable, sour, and anxious all of the time.
  21. One issue I have with this interview, among many, is Chris Harrison referring to Rachael as a "girl" often. If you think of contestants as defenseless girls, maybe it's time to start casting women for the show? That said, I would much rather hear her talk about this than Chris. Others speculating about her character isn't especially interesting. Additonally, the interval between the 1970s, when Chris came of age, and 2021 is greater than the interval between 2018 and 2021. The internet is a great educational tool, not just a place to post pictures on instagram. Being young, dumb, and in college can't be used as an excuse so readily. Maybe studying the history of the south is a better use of anyone's time than reenacting Gone with the Wind. (Are history courses electives in college these days? By the time I was a junior/senior in college I had a general understanding of the events leading up to the American Civil War and would have declined an invitation to these types of parties.)
  22. I'm very happy as well! I hope she gets a show calf *and* a puppy. : )
  23. Keaton for the win! Haylin's creations must be amazingly delicious because she has never impressed me as a decorator. Today's cookie had cute teeth, but otherwise meh. Bella's sunglasses seemed like a good idea in theory, but sunglasses disguise facial expressions.Sometimes I wear them when i want to be left alone, not when i'm excited. ; )
  24. I agree completely. Her sex positivity shouldn't interfere with someone's personal space. I can't imagine what I would do if a random guy were hitting me with a butt plug or something. That said, Katie seems ok and I will probably tune in for the first few episodes. I just hope she isn't Edgelord Kaitlyn Bristowe 2.0.
