It was -19 real temp when I left work yesterday. Had it not been for the wind, I would have stayed outside of the bus shelter, but it finally got to me. Fingers were tingling, though, even with gloves.

What? I was in the kitchen and must have missed this. They just let her pee on the floor??????

'Evening, Pounders. A little late to the show because I was making dinner - To eat while I watch My 600 lb Life. At least it's vegetarian... I can't believe her parents just let her get so big so young. They should be ashamed. I think Prader-Willi has other presentations that I don't see in her, but I wonder if there is some other disease that give people such an appetite? She seems to have had quite an appetite from a very young age; a little different from our usual obesees. Side note - it's -18 w/a -39 windchill, down from -48. What's it like where you are? Even though we cancelled classes and a lot of staff like myself worked from home, a student was found dead behind a building on campus. Alcohol was not involved, so I wonder what possessed this poor kid to go outside when the school was begging people to stay in?

I missed this earlier and am watching the repeat. What was that on the lawn in Chicago??? Was that supposed to be dancing? I would have been disappointed had I shown up for a real dance lesson from Ginger Rogers and wound up with Oliver Hardy. What - Buddy threw a drink at a policeman? Jeez.

What does she mean she's not on insurance? If she's low income, she has insurance or no-cost Obamacare. If she's lost enough weight to be minimally mobile, she should find a job where she can sit or a home job doing call center work. Something. I'm not too sympathetic.

I looked into WLS about 2 yrs ago, as I've mentioned here. I learned that the longer you've been diabetic, the less likely you are to have full remission. I also learned that blacks have less total weight loss than whites. Well, shoot. At the time, I'd been diabetic for 18 years; I'm also mixed race. I audit human subjects research and read research articles and study applications all the time for work, so I knew what I was reading and the bariatric center at my uni confirmed my concerns. So I decided against it. I didn't have that much to lose - I was only going to do it for the diabetes. And, since, as we've seen, this surgery isn't without its problems, I decided to deal with it on my own and keep my health as I am aliya jr's only living parent and didn't want to bring years of complications or death into the mix. I'm not against people having the surgery; I just realized it wasn't for me. I wish they would be more forthcoming about what this surgery will do for *some* diabetics; it's not a cure for us all..

'Hi' from Camp May Flather, VA! I still remember most of our unit chants and that was >50 years ago. The camp has changed - when I was there it was pretty basic. They didn't even have a pool my first year. Now they have special sessions for different interests and the girls go for treats, not like the old days. It is a little weird to think that the college girls who were counselors are now women in their 70's.

One of his best.

I am ordering groceries on line while I watch. The store shows your frequent purchases and the last time you bought an item. I put myself on a Halo Top fast after eating that devil's delight pretty much everyday for awhile. I haven't bought it for 98 days!!! Dr. Now would be proud.

Oh, Dr. Now, you're a card!

That reminds me - when I lived in Seattle, there was a guy on my regular bus route who often showed up with a parrot on his shoulder. There was bird stuff all down the back of his shirt all the time.

Shortly after my husband passed away, I was talking to the Chinese take out owner at his shop. He said he hadn't seen my husband in awhile. So after I told him what happened, he said that if a parent has to die, it's better it is the father. The mother will take care of the child, the father just wants a new wife and often ignores the kid. I'd say that's true more often than not; sadly.

Of course, mom can't be depended on to help the one freakin' time he really needs her. Drug addicts... As I've said before, I know whereof I speak.

Same here in Iowa, tho I called in sick yesterday. Wink, wink, nod, nod. : ) And as my sister said, "You are sick. Sick of work." : )

OMGoodness - I almost gagged. I can eat almost anything, but am sensitive about textures. One time I wound up with some of the 'mother' from a vinegar-based thing I take for leg cramps. Good googa mooga. I thought I was going to have to cut my tongue off. Jeez.

I do walmart.com. It comes to my door. They sell toilet tissue in a 12 pack. Walmart prices are generally so low, even if I buy a brand name like Scott, that I'm OK with the money. I'm not trying to buy a bunch of stuff for $5 like the extreme couponers. I also use ebates, which helps. I'm LDS and we are supposed to do 'provident living,' part of which means preparing for the future. I'm pretty sure I'm always gonna need toilet tissue, paper towels, and kleenex. No sense in running out.

At 28, I was a mom and law school student. Party time was over. But don't cry; I did not spend all my time at Michigan in the library. : )

No thanks. You can have my share.

You can get a credit card pretty much w/n a few weeks after the bankruptcy filing is approved. It's amazing. Good Lord that's a tight fit.

Drug addict. Spotty work history and tendency to spend money on drugs instead of paying bills. I'm not surprised.

Those waffles were stacked like a cake! And that awful white gravy. How people eat that stuff, I don't know. Way too much food - but he knows that.

It's a little early for trash talk. He's got plenty of time to mess up entirely. : )

Yeah. Despite what I said about not wanting to leave the house, I plan to retire this year and know I have to figure out something to do to get up and about before I blow up like a balloon.
-
I'm gonna say - not leaving the house sounds good to me. I pretty much don't leave the house as it is, except for work. I order almost every thing, including groceries. I have the internet. I don't need much else.
