I lived in Seattle for almost 5 yrs. When looking long distance for an apartment, I couldn't understand why none of them mentioned air conditioning. When I got out there, I learned that they really don't need it. It's only really uncomfortable a few days in the summer. Even the student health service and most of the city buses didn't have air. A fan was usually enough. My son was born in Portland, but I don't really remember the weather; I imagine it's a lot like Seattle. We didn't have air there, either, and I don't recall being uncomfortable for the year or so that we were there.

I think he wants a yardstick by which to measure her progress. She could easily tell him she could only lose 40 lbs, when others have done so much better, but he wouldn't know.

I tripped and fell over a door stop at work a few years ago. I needed help to get up. Since I hadn't fallen for years, I had no idea I wouldn't be able to get up on my own (OK, my leg was bleeding like mad and I was a little freaked, but I still should have been able to get up). Probably a year ago I started doing an old lady version of DDP yoga. When I fell last semester, I was able to get up with no problem. I don't stand on my head or anything, but doing DDP yoga has really helped my flexibility and core strength.

I'm going to have to go back to my Catholic roots, but Mary Mother of God - she's crying at the rental counter???? I understand she fell, I understand she's embarrassed, but you're not going to get people to stop looking at you if you're blubbering like a 2 yr old. What a baby. Leave now, Christian, while you have the chance.

Lord, I'm 65 w/achy hips and sometimes have to walk the length of the hospital (1/2 mile) to do an audit. Yes, I usually have to sit down for a minute along the way, but jeez Louise, she complains like an old lady. I don't think any young man wants to hear this level of complaining. No wonder Christian seems checked out all the time. How come none of these obesees get the right rental car???

Jeez - why don't any of these people get assistance in the airport? I've had it a few times; it's no big deal.

I'm laughing, but I admit to bringing 2 Sam's Club size boxes of Splenda to Iowa when I moved here, just in case Splenda didn't ship to the Midwest. : )

Yeah. That's how I've been feeling for the past few weeks. I don't have SAD, but this snow is getting to me and I don't want to go anywhere. Fortunately, I can get into the uni's network from home and I can pretty much have a normal work day from home in my pjs. I wish I could do this all of the time. : )

I had to look them up. They look good - like an oatmeal cookie? They kinda look like there's coconut, but maybe that's just the oatmeal.

Is there a culture that doesn't use food? Jeez.

Shoveled 1/2 my drive way before the show. I worked from home today because of last night's snow. There is so much, there is no where to put it. I have a 2 car garage, but can only shovel out 1 lane because I have to pile the snow on the other lane. I live in a townhouse community and there just isn't much ground between the houses. That seemed like a good idea (no yard work) when I bought the place, but not so much right now. I am about to go crazy from the snow.

How're y'all doing? My diet tonight is a black cherry ice water, a green salad, and a lentil stew. Jeez - she's already crying over something... maybe that's a good sign about the show. : )

To clarify - my understanding is that Henry had a heart attack while driving his airport shuttle, and then died. He also killed a woman as he lost control of the shuttle. I'm glad he got married to Miss Kirk and had some happiness. Sadly, though, prolonged super obesity is bound to have some continuing effects, even after the surgery.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm gonna say that a lot of us would run to french fries if we don't plan our nutrition.
-
That's too bad. I actually watched his show a couple of times last week (familiarity and lack of anything on TV while I worked on the computer). I wonder if the surgery just came too late for him, or if he gained back a lot of the weight. So young, and never really lived his own life. eta - I see he died from an infection. It doesn't take much at that size.

Not impressed. She's annoying as heck. Now let me see her slide back down.

Why is she trying to run up that hill? No brownie points for falling in the slick leaves and twisting your ankle, Twit.

What does she mean by having a chance to be successful in Alaska? Tons of older people go to Alaska every year and have a good time walking around the glaciers and waving to seals from boat decks. Sounds like fun to me and I bet they feel they've had a successful vacation. Why does she have to do such physical things w/out being in shape for them? I don't care what she does at home, I bet she won't do well on any extended activity in AK.

Would those be bell bottoms? : )

My sister is an opera singer - as in Chicago Lyric, Kennedy Center, world tour. On her worst day, she sounds like the opera singer that she is, not like this guy (I realize he's singing in another style). I expected more from his voice, whatever he was singing.

Man, holding this kindle and posting makes my hands hurt.

Naw. I actually liked it, too.

How many wigs does this woman have?

Good Lord. She's not going to Afghanistan.
