  1. IMHO, Tommen was a complete waste of time and space - right from the start of his putrid, stupid role - right to the end. I suppose the show runners may be justified in making him such a waste - considering where he came from and all.
  2. Alternatively, just imagine what would happen if Ramsay had eaten the dogs. It is too horrible to imagine. The uproar over that would exceed most any other horrible event in this world. I'm just wasting time waiting for the finale to begin. I was going to finish the above paragraph by wandering down a path in Fantasyland and talk about how so many people seem to react more strongly to pet animals being intentionally harmed over other events that cause people to be harmed. It's a age-old issue that never seems to get resolved in any kind of meaningful way. Why am I being so silly? Well, there are ten minutes left to go before the finale beings and as I look out of my window, I see a bus stop across the street and I just can't believe that bunches of people are clumped together waiting for a bus. What is wrong with those people? Don't they know the GoT Finale begins in ten minutes? Surely, they can't intend to miss that episode. Can they? Silly, silly, foolish people. Shame on them! Mercy on me!
  3. I just want to tell you that I certainly appreciate your feelings and your opinion and I will feel the same way about anyone else who chooses to express that same opinion. It is eminently understandable why people would object to seeing that kind of human misery over and over again. I suppose that I am a kind of sadist insofar as people getting what they deserve. I sure don't want to see anyone get treated the way that Ramsay treated Theon. But I'm happy to make an exception for people who have treated others in that way. I enjoy seeing them get what they deserve. The problem with our current justice system is that it is so extremely rare to find someone who clearly treated someone else the way Ramsay treated Theon. It's very similar to the problem of capital punishment. What do you need to be certain that you are punishing someone who is truly guilty? Who really did the deed? Even if they confess to it, there are some people who falsely confess to committing murders because, in the parlance of the street, they have a screw loose. Can you imagine executing a confessed criminal only to find out they intentionally confessed but never really did commit the crime? Pretty terrible. But it happens quite often - at least before most nations banned capital punishment. Oh dear, it felt good to be able to stand up on my soapbox once again. I had promised myself a very long time ago that I would not do that again. But when it comes to Ramsay, so many promises fall by the wayside. I hope you understand.
  4. I just realized that killing off Ramsay was just too good for him and not good enough for us. Wouldn't it have been so much better if he would have found himself in some kind of involuntary indentured relationship with someone who would torture and traumatize him on a regular basis? By the way, when I use the word "torture", I don't necessarily mean the same kind of physical torture that he would inflict on someone. I mean something like a nagging mother in law. Over time, that kind of torture can drive most any man insane and it sure would have been a lot more entertaining for the audience instead of just having him die and never seen again. I sure do wish he wouldn't have died but somehow found himself in that kind of situation. I'm sorry that I don't know exactly who would inflict that kind of torture upon Ramsay or how it would happen. But I sure would love to see a few minutes of Ramsay in every single upcoming episode - down on his knees - begging for forgiveness and reliving all his past misdeeds. I want to hear him talk about how he now realizes that he was so wrong to harm Theon & Sansa and beg, beg, beg - all to no avail. That would just be so much more satisfying for me than giving him a quick death. What a waste of a superbly talented actor. I bet he could have acted his ass off begging for forgiveness and crying and weeping and wailing over all his bad karma. I must consider Ramsay's death to have been a most grievous error on the part of the show runners. But, you know what? I am just as much to blame for this because I never spoke up and made this point before he died. I truly regret that. I would love to see that actor stay in the show. I bet he could work miracles as the humiliated and defeated creep that he was. As a matter of fact, given this is a fantasy entertainment series, surely they could devote a few minutes in all upcoming episodes to show us Joffrey and Ramsay and other villians in the author's idea of the after life. They could be humiliated and tortured and forced to come to terms with all their misdeeds. I would love to hear them cry and admit they did terrible things that were wrong and beg for forgiveness and .... (oh well, you know the rest).
  5. I sure do hope no one else has posted about this. I checked the 3 last pages of this thread but didn't see it. The following is a link to a GIF that shows John Snow in the battle with his sword but it appears the producers did not want to weigh him down with a bunch of heavy iron. So ... his sword's scabbard is either empty or it's made of rubber. I found this to be hilarious ... http://metro.co.uk/2016/06/24/this-new-game-of-thrones-gif-has-completely-destroyed-jon-snows-street-cred-for-all-time-5964788/ I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. Look for the GIF titled "Valyrian Rubber".
  6. To the best of my recollection, I have only ever posted in two shows - Game of Thrones and The Americans. The one thing both these shows have in common is they are the cream of the crop. They are just excellent and exquisite TV shows and people who post in those threads seem to behave in a way that is extremely respectful of the excellence of those shows. Big Brother is a completely different experience. It's just my opinion, but I feel very strongly this show is a real piece of crap and all my posts about this show will likely be extremely negative and nasty. I want to give everyone fair warning about this. I hope it will be OK. It sure will be very different from the threads regarding the other two shows - Game of Thrones and The Americans. I would like to start off by posting some opinions about Nichole. I will put these in a spoiler box because I'm fairly certain most people will be extremely offended and have a strong desire to ban me from this forum. I hope that won't happen because I'm posting in this thread which is about "Unpopular Opinions" and because I'm putting these opinions in a spoiler box. OK. Here goes:
  7. Sadly, learning things has never been John's strong suit.
  8. I would like to make two more predictions. The first one seems kind of obvious to me and I would think most people would be happy to see it come true. It is that Sansa will do whatever she needs to do to change John Snow's name to "John Stark". I must apologize for the second prediction because I think most people will be very unhappy should it become true. But I predict that at the end of this story, Littlefinger will sit on the Iron Throne. Why? Because the main theme of this story (or at least one of them) is that good and honorable people don't seem to win in this place and time. It is the liars, cheaters and most unscrupulous people who usually seem to win and no one is as skilled at lying, cheating and being unscrupulous than Littlefinger.
  9. I'd like to make a prediction for next week. Davos will not kill the Red Witch because all he needs to do is remove her necklace somehow and everyone will see her become the monster she really is. Then she will just slither away and never be seen again. Maybe into a fire. Maybe not. If there is any justice (which usually there is not), she will experience being burned alive by a fire so she can experience the wonder of having all her sins burned away by fire. My reason for this prediction is that TPTB showed us what happens when her necklace is removed. What would be the point of showing us that if it was never used for anything again? I would expect there must be some reason why they showed us that.
  10. I would guess that everyone does. With any luck, she may burn to death and gain first hand experience how wonderful it is to be cleansed of all her sin by the fire. (sarcasm) Hoorah for the fire!
  11. What about Cersei? Sorry. I couldn't resist. You mean maybe they will install a Democracy? Stranger things have happened.
  12. In the next episode (S06E09) I'm hoping to finally see Ramsay get what he deserves. Unfortunately, it's very hard to predict just what is the Showrunner's opinion when it comes to what he deserves. I'm a very vindictive type of person and so I'd like to see him suffer the sum total of the pain that he has caused others over the years. Unfortunately, on this show, the audience doesn't seem to get to see the victims of violence savor the suffering of wrongdoers. In other words, I would very much like to see Sansa and Theon present when Ramsay gets his due. But, as it stands, they are not together (geographically) and if Ramsay is put to the sword during the upcoming battle, it would seem doubtful they will both be present so they can witness his death. If Ramsay is captured and tried for his "crimes against humanity" or "waging aggressive war", is there any penalty the courts in that place and time will sentence him to anything worse than beheading? If it's done right, wouldn't he deserve to be flayed alive? After all, it seems he has done that to many others and it might seem only fair for him to suffer the same fate. However, in an enlightened society, flaying people would certainly seem to be a barbaric practice. So can the courts justify beheading to the relatives of people who Ramsay flayed? When they appeal to the courts and say they want to see Ramsay suffer the same kind of pain - both in intensity and duration - that Ramsay gave their relatives, how does a court deny them? Seems to me they really need to do more than just label the practice as "barbaric". Sad to say, I just can't imagine what any court of law could say that would make the victims or relatives of victims feel any better.
  13. I liked the one where Andy is invited to join a men's club and Barney figures that means he is also invited. But when the snobby men decide to ask Andy to join but not Barney, Andy declines and Barney decides that if they don't want his pal Andy, he won't join. It was one of the most perfect and definitive episodes that defined the relationship between Andy & Barney. Also, I think it's only fair to say it's wrong to label these men as "snobs". After all, if you were a member of a club, would you want Barney to join? Neither would I. Well, maybe that means we are indeed snobs. If so, what a wonderful way to make us take a good look at our true natures. Yes indeed. Watching Barney sing into a "super sensitive microphone" was one of the very best moments in TV history. I loved it.
  14. I would have to agree with several other people here who have said that BF is likely not really dead. I wish I could find who it was who said this first so that I could give credit to that person because it's a very clever thing to have noticed and that person deserves credit for coming up with that idea. As far as Brienne and Jamie as well as Arya and her former (almost) BF goes, I don't think this show is the kind of show that will end up with all the former near-misses getting together once again and living out the rest of their lives happily ever after. It would be swell, for sure, but it's just not that kind of show. It is more likely that several of those pairs will wind up getting together once again only for one of them to witness the other being horribly tortured and murdered. I'm really sorry. But it's just that kind of show. The one thing I'd really, really like to see is .... Remember when the HS was talking about being killed in the defense of his ideals? He said that he would "relish that". I sure would like to see him get killed and see whether or not he does indeed relish that or whether he cries for his mommy. I would guess that most all of us would cry for mommy if we are ever tortured on the way to death.
  15. One possible reason why she didn't slit Arya's throat is they were in public and slitting the throat would cause a lot of blood to be spurting out and would be highly visible. If the waif wanted to avoid that, stabbing her a few times in the abdomen would not be nearly as visible.
  16. I thank you for your help. However, I think it's pretty clear that both Stannis & Myrcella are dead and gone. So, can anyone venture a guess what would happen if Tommen were to die? Who would become the new King or Queen? If there is no one in succession, would there likely be a big and violent fight or war about it? What about Margaery? How likely is it that she would remain Queen and take the reigns? If HS is convinced she is his follower, he might try to help her become the new ruler? I'm asking because I can see this possibly becoming an issue later this season or possibly even the "cliff hanger" that will lead us into next season?
  17. I seem to recall in an older episode when Cersei was a young girl, she went to a witch and asked about her future. The witch told her she would have 3 children and, if I recall correctly, they would all die before she did. When Tommen made his pronouncement and then left the throne room, Cersei never tried to stop him and say anything to him. I got the impression that she had decided he was lost to her and worthless and it would be just fine if he died. I'm guessing that he will die and maybe sooner than we might expect - like sometime in the next two episodes. Can anyone tell me please, if Tommen was to die, who would take over as the ruler? P.S. Speaking as a man who experienced going through puberty and getting some sex at an early age, Tommen must have been overjoyed and over the moon at being able to have sex with Margaery. Hell, I would be over the moon to have sex with her. But now that she is no longer interested in satisfying his sexual desires, his life must be a very empty lonely and horney experience. I sure would bet that under these circumstances, he is likely to do something stupid that will get him killed. Poor boy. He never had a chance. Did he? Would Jaimie become the next king? At least that would be interesting. Oh!!! ... Could this have something to do with why Varys is returning to Westeros? Is he coming back to try and put some pieces of the puzzle in order so that Dany can take over as King? (or Queen)?
  18. Remember when Arya returned to the House of Black & White last night? We saw the face of The Waif. I'm guessing Arya must have removed her face and placed it in the piece of furniture (whatever it was). It occurred to me that maybe that was the skill she learned? If she can remove faces from certain people and then wear them over her face (or help others to do the same), maybe that might be the skill that somehow helps the Starks retake Winterfell? I know that is very unlikely. But it could lead to some very ironic scenes. Couldn't it?
  19. It's more of an answer from the 60s. But I would say she went to "find herself". And she did. She is Arya Stark from Winterfell.
  20. Down. Down. Down. I expect she will go down. They explained it (albeit rather weakly) when that actress said that she had bedded many men into whom she put holes and then patched them up.
  21. But they are still good racketball buddies. BTW, in case anyone is interested, they play a very poor game of racketball. Racketball is a power game. Good players hit every most shot with a tremendous amount of power and there is a huge "CRACK" sound. Only very poor players and children play like these two guys where they just kind of swish at the ball. I was very surprised because with the kind of connections these men have, I would have thought someone would have showed them how to hit a racket ball. Just go to Youtube and search for some high level racket ball games and you'll see the difference. It's like a whole other game. Maybe it was just too much trouble to train these two actors to hit the ball well. It does take a fair bit of time to learn that skill.
  22. Actually, the film was "The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit" (1956). It starred Gregory Peck. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_in_the_Gray_Flannel_Suit http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049474/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_36
  23. Yes indeed. I feel the audience is owed an explanation about what happened to Gaad and why. You are exactly right about that. Where is that explanation and why wouldn't the show runners give us one? Do you think we should be expecting it next season? If so, do you think we should know it will be coming? It just seems wrong to deprive us in that way. You can call me a cry baby if you like. Boo Hoo!
  24. I don't know if it's a "ton of cash". The one bill I saw was a Canadian one dollar bill. If Irina was leaving him a lot of money, surely she would have made it $100 or $50 or even $20 bills. Then again, there is really no telling just how much cash was in that pile. It could have been almost any amount. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with an opinion as to just why Irina wouldn't leave him info re his father in that pouch. I can't really remember just what the situation with Irina was at that time. I recall that she was planning to run away from the KGB and escape that life. I suppose she must have been arrested when she was found. Does that sound reasonable? If so, she must have had some advance time and known that she could have sent Misha Jr. some info one way or another. But I'm really not clear about the details. Would anyone know (or care to guess) just what her circumstances were before she got arrested and how she may have tried to get some info to her son? I'm guessing that I may be asking for the impossible. But I sure would love to hear any opinions regarding how she could have planned to get some info to him and why she failed to do that. Alternatively, maybe she did not fail and we have yet to see just how she managed to get that info to him. It all seems like a rather delicious plot line to me.
  25. For anyone interested, one of the currencies shown was a Canadian dollar. The paper dollar was eliminated many years ago and so even people from Canada may have never seen one of those before. Of course that makes sense since Irina said that she was living in Canada (in Montreal) the last time she appeared in an episode. I'm wondering just how she will leave instructions for M. Jr. to find Phillip. Is it possible that she intended to do that but was arrested before she got a chance to do that? If so, it will be very interesting to see how M Jr. finds out how to track down his father. There are thousands and thousands of travel agents in the USA and he has to proceed with caution. Because if he has any idea that P. is working as an undercover Directorate S agent, he could blow his cover if he isn't very careful.
