  1. I really despise this Alice character (I worded it like this to acknowledge I understand the diff between the actor and the character). It's so completely stupid for her to come into the Jennings home and refuse to lower her voice thereby endangering the Jennings. Wouldn't the logical approach have been to come to the Jennings and since Eithiopia is aligned with the USSR, to ask the Jennings for help? They could contact their people in that country and try to help. But instead, Alice acts like a lunatic. I'm not a violent person. But when she refused to lower her voice, I just really wanted to take a big heavy brick or iron or hammer and bash her in the head to make her shut up. I find myself hoping now that both the pastor and his wife die and as soon as possible. Forgive me if I failed to see any posts about this. But I thought the most interesting part of this epi was the question of just what would those three Russian people want to suggest to Gaad. The fact they sent 3 people seems very unusual to me. I suppose the logical assumption would be these were agents of the KGB. One of them looked very much like Oleg. I was sure he was a relative. But if they were agents, why send three? They seemed to time their entry so that Gadd would be alone. Is it possible they weren't agents at all but perhaps some Russian dissidents looking to make a contact into the USA? Maybe they were Christians or some other religious group looking for help? If they were agents, I would guess they might want to make a proposal regarding Martha. Although I can't imagine what that would be. Does anyone have any ideas as to just what they may have proposed to Gaad if he hadn't died? The fact that one of them says, "I'm sorry" 2 or 3 times would lead me to believe these were not KGB operatives but just some young people who didn't really have any experience. But what could they have wanted? Maybe one or more of them wanted to defect? To summarize, either these 3 people were KGB operatives or they weren't. If they were, why send 3 of them and what could they have wanted with Gaad? He is a retired FBI agent. Maybe they wanted to ask him to give them info in return for money? Or to give them some names of FBI agents who might be able to be turned? After all, Gaad was likely not very happy with his treatment by the FBI. But, if they were not KGB agents, who the heck could they have been and what might they have wanted? Seems like a very interesting question to me.
  2. "long ago indescretion"? They're talking about Paige telling PT that her parents are spies for the USSR? How does that rate being called "long ago". Even given the way time passes in this series, that happened just a few months ago. They make it sound as if it was something that happened several years ago. LOL ROFL! The best laugh I've had in years and years. Thank you oh so much!
  3. She has to contribute something and ... sorry to say ... all the rest of her performances are just kind of downbeat. Remember when that blonde girl who was kind of dim witted (sorry I forget her name) was talking about her upcoming wedding and kept repeating "pigeon pie"? "They like to eat pigeon pie in the South, don't they?" Pigeon Pie. Pigeon Pie. Pigeon Pie. Maybe they can have a big celebration when all those fanatics are killed and serve Sparrow Pie?
  4. I think his plan is to do what any red-blooded man would want to do. After Dany has jerked him up, then down, then up again, then down again, ..... I think he just wants to penetrate her once, look into her eyes and smile at the thought that he gave her the disease and then leave and find a nice way to exit this life. After all, once you get that Stonescale disease, your life is over. So you might as well get some revenge on the person or people who have caused you the most harm and then spend a day or so revelling in the thought of them finding out you were the cause of their disease and then make your exit while drugged up to be as happy as possible - before anyone figures out what you've done. Dany deserves that on two counts. First - for jerking him around as badly as any woman has ever jerked around any man. Second - for jerking the audience around by making us spend hours and hours watching her boring bullshit. How do I know this? Because ...
  5. and the season is too short as it is. Far too short.
  6. OK. I finished watching the entire show. Fabulous. Fantastic. Definitely the very best TV show I've ever seen. Aside from that, I'd just like to say thank you to all the people who worked so hard to make this forum equally great. It has some wonderful features and the level of conversation and posts here rank extremely high. I'm very happy to have discovered this place and to have had the opportunity to make some posts here. Best wishes to all of you.
  7. Oh dear. Silly mistake. Of course Marie & Skyler are sisters. Also, how silly that I noticed the comparison with Mr. Pink but not Mr. White? OK. I have two epis left. I just finished Episode 14 where Walt takes the package he "abducted" and left it at the fire station. I don't want to be specific because I don't want to spoil things for any other new comers. But I have two epis left. I saw someone upthread said she was very sympathetic to Marie by the end and actually loved Marie. I can't imagine how or why. But I still have two episodes left. Last line from WW was that he still had something left to do. I can't imagine what. He hasn't seemed to learn the lesson very well about divulging info to people. Telling Jessie that he could have saved Jane but chose not to was a very big mistake. It couldn't possibly help WW and could come back to bite him in the rear. I'm almost afraid to watch these last two episodes. This may well have been the very best TV show I've ever seen and ... well ... I just don't want it to be over. Before I started binge watching all five seasons, my TV life was very unhappy and lonely. I used to just count the 4 days between watching Game of Thrones until The Americans came on. Then I had to wait another 3 days until the next episode of Game of Thrones. I suppose that I am a TV snob. But, IMHO, nothing else is worth watching right now. Nothing at all. At some point, I just got tired of movies. Most of them were all the same or highly similar. I just no longer found any joy in new movies. I would watch some of my old favorites, like The Eagle has Landed, The Boys from Brazil, Guns of Navarone. I could watch those over and over. But there are only about one hundred movies like that and I had run out of those stand bys a long, long time ago. I still watch many old standby TV shows that I can watch over and over. But there is a very limited number of those and ultimately, I found that I just needed some new hobbies to occupy myself. I started studying piano but quickly grew tired of that. Very long story there. I just don't want to go back to watching one good new episode and then waiting 4 days or 3 days before a new episode came out. But I just don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? OK. Well, back to the main point of Breaking Bad. I have no idea how this will end. I suppose there will have to be some kind of big clash between the group of meth heads that killed Hank and Jesse and WW. I have no idea how that will play out and I really can't get into it. I can't find much motivation to watch. I don't really care which one of those groups comes out on top. I don't much care how WW's family life works out. I suppose I would like to see him reunited with his family and live happily ever after into the sunset. But that is pretty doubtful. I have no sympathy whatsoever for Marie. I guess I feel like she deserves anything bad that happens to her. Walt's son is pretty much of a shithead. I know it's not fair for me to judge him. But both he and Skyler would tell Walt, "Please stop just for a second and talk to me." But that is not what they meant. Walt wanted them to escape with him and they just kept throwing monkey wrenches into his plans. They just wanted enough info so they could call the police and really thwart his plans. I feel like I should have no sympathy for either of them. But I can't help the way I feel about Skylar. I really like her and admire her. She is a very savvy woman and I'm glad Walt didn't abduct the child for very long. Seems to me he didn't really abduct her anyway since she was his daughter and he only had her for a few hours. But that's not really a very important plot point. It's just kind of a wakeup slap in the face for Skylar. Marie has to suffer one whole Hell of a lot more - and rightly so. I guess I better go back and finish watching now. It's not really fair for me to spam you all with my knee jerk reactions. I'll just finish by saying this has been the greatest TV show I've ever seen. Thank you all very much for your great thoughts on this show.
  8. So is his blabbermouth wife. I have an inexplicable hatred for both of them. I will be oh so very happy when one or both DIAF (Yippee! I've always wanted to use that Internet expression in a RL situation). Either them or the bully Maurice. Please make me happy and decapitate that S.O.B.
  9. I'd guess that in the next episode, E will try to blackmail Don by showing him the pictures and threatening to send them to YH. In fact, I'm not at all certain but I have a strong suspicion that could well backfire as Don might be able to blackmail E just as easily (or maybe even more easily) then she could blackmail him. Don may not know this. But, if he just went to his employer or to the FBI and told them the truth, wouldn't E have a huge problem? Wouldn't she be afraid of getting arrested and/or imprisoned? If part of Don's job is "security", he just may know about honey traps and he may realize what has happened to him. Of course, Don may very well not know any of that - which leaves me very confused. I am probably more mystified by this incident than by most any others that have occurred in this show. If Don's employer ever got involved (or the FBI), surely they could track down Elizabeth and they shouldn't have too much difficulty figuring out P & E are KGB agents. E would not have ever had YH over to her home. But if she ever purchased any of that product, there would be some kind of paper trail. Wouldn't there? Also, E & YH spent many hours trapsing around D.C. on foot trying to sell product to women. I'm guessing that surely E would have had to have purchased some product in order to become a sales person. Don't MLM companies work that way? Wait a minute. Surely YH must have called E when she wanted a babysitter. So even if she has a phone number to that switchboard, shouldn't that be a way for the FBI to get their hands on her?
  10. You must be very intuitive. In Law, that is called the "but for" argument. Joe did X and but for his doing that, all this other stuff would never have happened. It's not any kind of official law or legal doctrine. But it's used when making arguments. So ... nice call!
  11. I felt as if I was present during the conversation between Pinkman (by the way, has anyone ever made the comparison between Pinkman and Mr. Pink from that QT film?). Anyway, it went like this ... "He's smarter than you. He's luckier than you. Everytime you try to hurt him, things always seem to turn out well for him." I felt like I should have added: "It's as if this is some TV show and it's his show. So, he can't be killed. Don't you get that?" Giggle.
  12. Well, I just watched Hank & Marie (this pair definitely needs a nickname to describe the both of them ... the name "Dumb" would certainly apply to one of them. Maybe Marie's Kleptomania might serve as part of a nickname. I just don't think it's right to take someone's illness and use that as a Nick). But both of them are kind of dumb and also kind of evil or nasty. I really have bad feelings towards Marie. Again, this is a person who feels they are needed to help other people "fix" things but invariably they seem to just make things worse - even turn things into big disasters when they try to help a small problem). If Marie were my sister-in-law, I would def try to get some kind of restraining order to keep her away from me. Or .. what is the name that people give to minors when they have parents like Marie? Oh. Yes. "Emancipated Minors". I would def want to become emancipated from Marie. The harder she tries to help, the worse she makes things. Skyler and Hank are brother and sister. For a long time I thought that Skyler and Marie shared a family gene. But I was mistaken because they are not sisters. However, they both seem to feel compelled to know what people are doing and once they find out, they feel compelled to "fix" things - especially when they don't need fixing. When they do need fixing, they have a very unique talent in that they seem to be able to take a small problem and turn it into a big disaster. I would never want to let either of those ladies anywhere near my life. Hank isn't much better. His stupid joking manner before his accident really got on my nerves. Whenever he opened his mouth, I just wondered to myself, "This guy is a DEA Agent? Something is wrong somewhere in DEA Land." Anyway, I just watched the scene where Hank realized that he had been defeated by Skyler because unbknownst to him, W&S had paid all his medical bills and so Walt's "confession" was pretty damning." Hank knows he is a long way away from arresting Walter. My prediction doesn't seem to be as likely as I thought it might. The one funny thing is that I'm developing a new appreciation and respect for Skyler. She knew enough to help Walt defeat The Dumbell Duo and I'm guessing it was her idea to use that in Walt's confession. Say what you will about Skler (and I know that I already have said way too much). But she is one smart cookie! I loved the way she defeated that nasty Romanian car wash owner and she was also able to push around Ted all she wanted - although I'm sure she has a good heart because she felt so badly that she had put him into such a poor state. I'll tell you. I would never ever want to "tangle" with Skyler. I'm fairly certain that she is smarter than me. Much smarter.
  13. I am currently watching Season 5 Episode 10 - Buried and I've just watched the scene where Lydia (I think that's her name) (she is a very attractive lady with beautiful long black hear and beautiful black shoes) came to visit some rural location and went down into some hiding place while much mayhem and violence ocurred above ground. The following scene was Hank sitting alone and scratching his head and I suddenly got a flash of light and would like to make a prediction. I looked around under "Season Five" but I could not see any thread for "Predictions" so I'll just put it here. I'm guessing that Hank (the loudmouthed dumbass) would never be able to solve all the murders that just ocurred and so maybe, the DEA decided to enlist some help from WW to solve those crimes and that is the way the show ends. Walter helps the DEA to solve the crimes and Hank winds up as a laughing stock among all the other DEA agents. Walter winds up as a hero. I know that seems rather far fetched and I'm hoping it's OK to post this prediction because the show ended some three years ago. By the way, I am very happy and impressed with this show. It is really fabulously crafted. Just as an update, I'd like to say that I feel a terrible disdain for Hank and his stupid / crazy wife. I hope that Walter and Skylar find a way to live happily ever after. But if I was ever married to someone like Skylar, I would be be very, very careful in what I ever told her. I think I might pick 3 topics of conversation (like the Weather, and two other equally bland topics) and I would never discuss anything else with her and I would never tell her anything that she could use against me or against anyone else because she has this terrible predeliction to try and "fix" all kinds of problems in the world and only manages to make them all worse. Much worse. As I've said before. She can take a tiny problem and turn it into a huge disaster. Poor, poor, Skylar.
  14. I found this post to be quite amusing comparing E's friendship with P's. Isn't it strange that P has maintained a friendship with this guy who is kind of prickly by nature and (I suspect) he is not at all easy to make new friends. But, YH has a great sense of humor and she seems to be the perfect kind of friend people would like to have as a friend. But, P keeps his friendship while E loses hers.
  15. My guess would be that Don is a very nerdy-type guy who perhaps works as a scientist and has Level 4 access. One other possibility is that he is the administrative head of the security department and can be blackmailed into forging documents or giving up security codes so that William could go visit that department and photograph info the KGB wants to see. But like most other people, I can't see how E will be able to leverage him into giving up any info. If he doesn't remember completing the sex act with E, how will he feel pressured to co-operate? Remember that creme E seemed to squirt into her hands and then rub onto his private parts? I'm thinking the purpose was to make him think he really did engage in a sex act with E. But men can easily tell if they have recently engaged in the sex act. Unlike women, there is a physical pressure when the sack that stores the fluid has not been emptied in a few days. The feeling is quite pronounced and so men can tell if they ejaculated yesterday or not. It's very clear to men whether they ejaculated yesterday or not. I'm almost always wrong about these kinds of things, but I would guess this screenplay was written by a female. Please feel free to shoot me for saying that. It happens all the time and I know that I deserve it. I apologize to all females in advance. But I'm telling the truth as best as I know it.
  16. As far as "Elizabeth hates being a travel agent goes", that may be true. My impression was that she was very tired after staying up all night searching for something she could use and very annoyed after coming up empty. I thought they wanted to show the audience that mental state. But maybe the truth is that they wanted to show us that she hates being a travel agent. I'm no longer certain.
  17. Young Hee was a real original. Not only had Elizabeth never met anyone like her before. But I doubt that anyone has ever met anyone like her before. She had the most amazing sense of humor. Everyone would want to have a friend like Young Hee and I think E just doesn't reallize how unique YH is. Since E has almost no friends and never had any, she likely things that having a friend means something like what she experienced with YH. She has no clue just how unique and special her friendship with YH was. I agree with someone upthread who was talking about how beautiful E is. When she took off her top and we saw her naked back, I got very excited, thinking, "Oh boy! Now we get to see some naked Keri Russell breasts. I should have known better. No beautiful breasts. But she is def one extremely beautiful lady.
  18. I remember watching "The Day After" very well. It was a very scary scenario. But what was even more scary was some review by someone apparently knowledgeable about the effects of nuclear explosion. They said they only had one criticism of the movie. They said it wasn't nearly realistic. They said the damage would be much, much worse if that ever happened in real life. I agree with Paige. If it ever does happen, I'd like to be as close as possible to the "kill zone". I don't want to try and scrounge out a life in all that rubble while dealing with radiation sickness and the fact that everyone else left alive would be looking to kill me and eat me. Just too much to bear.
  19. Oh my! I just got up to the episode in Season 5 where Mike visits Lydia and I'm just blown away. After finishing Season 4, I just couldn't imagine what could possibly happen in Season 5. I figured the show must have been finished after Season 4 because everything seemed to be all wrapped up. But what a great idea for Season 5. I'm so happy. So impressed the show runner would be able to come up with an idea that would be good for an entire new season. By the way, did I miss finding out who Lydia is? I have no memory of her ever appearing in any episodes before Season 5. Did I miss something? She seems like another liability. I still tend to get this "seething" angry feeling whenever I see Skylar. I know the difference between the actors and the characters. But I seem to know quite a few "Skylar types" in real life. They can't seem to keep a secret (meaning they can't seem to keep their mouths shut). They can't seem to keep their noses out of other peoples' business. And they always feel compelled to "fix" things. But worse than that ... every time they decide to "fix" something, they invariable make it worse - much worse - and the wind up screwing up all kinds of other peoples' lives as a result. Call it collateral damage? Remember Ted? Wow. Poor guy had sex with Skylar a few times and wound up with life that equates to one big huge disaster. When you see Skylar coming your way ... make any excuse you can and run, run, run away. You never want to be waiting around for Skylar to come into your life and fix things up. OMG! She is a one-person disaster creator - all by herself. I am always amazed how some people seem to be able to take a small problem and turn it into a big huge disaster. That's Skylar!
  20. OK. I just finished watching the last episode in Season 4. Wow! What a great season and what a great show! Now ... the thing that is troubling me is ... should I really chance watching Season 5? I mean the end of Season 4 was just the perfect way to end the show. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that would be the Grand Finale to this show and there would be nothing else to see. Why in the world would there be any further seasons or any further episodes? Everything wound up perfect! (asuming of course that Ted is dead). IMHO, Ted certainly does deserve to be dead. But all the other characters seem to have reached the logical end of their arcs. I'm happy with seeing Hank remain a kind of paraplegic for the rest of his life because ... after all ... Hank is a kind of a dick isn't he? He really doesn't deserve much better. And Marie? What a mess. If I could write any more episodes for Marie, it would just be to have some terrible things happen to her. I sure wouldn't mind if she wound up in prison or had some other terrible calamity in her life because, after all, she sure would deserve most anything bad that happened to her. But, am I missing any other characters? I just can't see there are any others who deserve to have anything good or anything bad happen to them. Besides, after watching five seasons of Game of Thrones, I've sort of learned that what I think characters deserve to happen to them is just a bunch of foolishness. It's just not up to me. Still, I just can't imagine what all could be waiting for me in Season 5 and I want to thank you all very much for not spoiling things for me. Everyone in this forum (including all the different shows) has been unbelievably courteous in that way. I have never heard a single word about what events will be happening in the future. I sure would be disappointed if the 16 remaining episodes in Season 5 turn out to be some cheap grab at available dollars based on good ratings. Somehow, I would have a real hard time believing that because all of the actors and people behind the cameras as well as the show runner have just been incredibly professional. If I decide not to watch Season Six (Yeah - Fat Chance!), I would have to say that just having watched the first four seasons, this show has definitely been one of the finest TV dramas I've ever seen. I don't know if you could class this show as a "mini-series". But, if it is classed that way, well ... it would def be the best mini-series I've ever seen. I just wish there were more like it. By that, I mean more with a comparable amount of talent and quality. It has just been fantabulous. I can't recall any show that was any better. And hows about that final shot of Gus' face? Wasn't that something? Really extraordinarily well done! I hope someone won an Emmy for that. The Sopranos was great. But it had a bunch of "sloppy loose ends" compared to this show. I would rate them about equal. But seems to me this show had fewer episodes (or fewer hours of air time) so they cannot really be compared directly. The Americans and Game of Thrones are different subject matters but they would be just about at the top of my list. Oh! also Fargo and Better Call Saul are also most excellent and I'd just like to mention those shows for anyone who hasn't seen them but who loves quality TV. The shows I've mentioned are just the best - the highest quality TV shows I've ever seen and I hope that if any of you have not seen any of those shows ... I hope you might take a look at them and I hope you will enjoy watching them. Best wishes to you all. Oh ... yes ... should I watch Season 5?
  21. It came to me this morning the reason I grew to like Jesse was because he displayed real loyalty more than once in this show. It wasn't particularly part of his character but for some reason that I don't understand, he just developed that trait and became a loyal person to his friends and associates. By the end of S4, I was left wondering what ever happened to all his so-called friends that he used to have come visit his home. They just stopped coming over and Jessie just stopped having 24 hour parties. Seems to me that was just better for everyone. But the one person who continued to always mess things up was Skylar. She would often take it upon herself to intervene in order to "fix things" and when she did that, she almost always "fucked up everything". She would just have to be the very worst woman in the entire world to have as a spouse. She means well and she is talented. But when she takes things into her own hands, just "Look out world!" She just messes up everything. I understand that Walt loves her and wants to be with her. But, IMHO, she is a pretty awful choice. I guess it's not really her fault. But she just can't keep her mouth shut and she just can't keep from messing things up for everyone she tries to help - at least that is the way it seems ot work out!
  22. There is one question I have and that concerns Jessie sitting in a 12 step meeting and talking about a dog that he had to have "put down" (in fact, I think the name of that episode was "The dog"). This was likely the last meeting he ever would attend because he confessed that he only came to these meeting in order to sell meth to the people there (which presumbably was not true). However, he seemed sincere when he spoke about this dog and I got the impression he was telling the story of how he murdered Gayle (sp?). But, why would he have such regret? Would that be the turning point in his life? Would that be the moment in which he "grew up" and decided to take some responsibility for his actions and decided that murder was wrong and that he would not want to do that anymore? If not, I really didn't understand what he was doing in that meeting with that confession. Then again, I have attended some of those meetings in the past and never really understood what people were trying to accomplish there.
  23. Holy Moley! Season 4 sure did turn out to be one Hell of a Season. Oh my gosh! It did not leave very much to be desired. So much great action. Wow! I just finished watching the epsisode where people fell into the swimming pool and they were not playing any game either. It was all deadly serious stuff. Oh my oh my! Someone told me that as the show progresses, they found themselves liking some of the characters more and more all the time. Especially Jessie and Skylar and when I first heard that, I just snorted and couldn't believe my ears. But now, Yikers! I sure do see what they meant. I don't understand just why I'm liking Jessie so much more. But I do. I never would have believed that but it surely was true. I'm feeling as if I should have something more to say. But at this time, I just feel kind of shell shocked and don't really know what to say. This show certainly has turned out to be much better than I ever figured it would. I just keeps getting better and better and better all the time. I sure do wish that there was more to come except for the last 16 episodes. I feels like I could just go on and on watching forever!
  24. I just got my first genuine LOL from this show. Remember when Mike broke into that warehouse/office and shot 3 guys? He walked into a back room where a little old man (Chinese or Philipino) was tied up in a chair and one other bad guy was hiding in another room. Mike raised and lowered his gun according to eye movements of the man in the chair until he nodded and then .... LOL! Very good laugh. Also, I was very happy when it appeared that Jesse was out of the picture. I should have known better that wouldn't last too long and sure enough ... he came back and everything is messed up again. Whenever Jesse says something like, "I got it all figured out", everyone should know it would be easier to just put a bullet into his brain than deal with the consequences. There was one episode ("Fly") that was a total mystery. It had no good action, no good plot development and no good anything else. I just couldn't figure it out. It was near the end of Season 3 and every other episode (especially after the first season) was really good. Most were even excellent. But unless I was missing the point completely, what the Heck was Fly about? It just seemed like a total mystery to me.
  25. Heh. Thanks very much for your answers. I'm now up to Season 3. Talk about binging. I just watched the scene where Pinkman tried to throw a rock through Walt's winshield and failed - as usual. My question still remains the same. If I was Walt, I would approach Gus with an idea about getting rid of Pinkman (in any way at all). Surely he could make that happen.
