  1. I always though Sera's comment about the epic love story of Sam and Dean was both funny and true and I don't think it did anything to get people to romanticize Sam and Dean, literally. Shippers are going to ship and I think that ship sailed before Sera made the comment, myself. There were many influences on Kripke in developing the show--Kolchack, American Gods, Dogma, Frailty--but this is the first time I've heard this book being an influence. Sounds like it would be right up Kripke's alley, though.
  2. Brianna and, I'm assuming, Katherine Ramdeen, who plays Alex, are Canadian; Kim and Kathryn are not; I don't know about the other two actresses, though. I think actors/actresses expect to have to travel for work, more or less, but crew is a bit of a different story, depending on the job. I think it has to do with it being a new show. Shows already filming there would be far more expensive to relocate them at this stage in the game than to jut pay the higher taxes. But, like I said, I doubt it's the only reason they're planning to shoot it in the US. Maybe they just wanted the production and writing staff under the same roof, or maybe it's a casting thing, or maybe all of the above and more? ETA: It could also be they want to make Wayward different from Supernatural from the jump. I mean, it's a spin off, but is also it's own show and a real easy way to do that is to separate their productions so they will look and feel like two different shows, more or less.
  3. This is both a great question and a difficult one for me to answer, but I'll give it the old college try...
  4. No, I don't think sho, he's been listed as an Executive Producer since he left. Not sure why though, I'd have thought he'd be a Consulting Producer at most by now.
  5. Unknown right now since it hasn't been picked up for series yet. But, if it does, I'd place bets that it's a fall premiere and not a mid-season replacement.
  6. That's what I was thinking as well. It could just be a random character of the week who is a zealot. I definitely think the title might be misleading. Or, there could just be alternate universes with different Sam's in it? Lots of possibilities on a show where death is meaningless.
  7. I'm sure it's not the only reason, but I read somewhere it might be due to Vancouver cutting back on their generous tax breaks for film productions.
  8. I think most of the regular crew is based out of Vancouver, so I would expect them to find other work in Vancouver. They're going to have to staff both shows independently to start off and I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the crew be courted for Wayward to help the show get up and running smoothly, but I would expect a mostly new crew for Wayward. It's the nature of the business they work in, so I expect the Supernatural crew to be prepared to look for other jobs when Supernatural ends. Most of their jobs would not have the longevity Supernatural has already provided them with.
  9. Right, but if they finished the series they may have done what TNT sometimes does with airing a set of themed episodes after they finish airing the complete series. Like, maybe they were doing Halloween episodes or something?
  10. My sense has always been that Jared was never really thinking of acting long-term. They did a commentary for an episode back in the first season that kinda made me think Jared liked acting, if it was the right project, but didn't really care for the process or the Hollywood mentality needed to climb the ladder and make a real career out of it. I don't think Wayward will have much bearing on when Supernatural ends. I mean, they could get picked up for series and cancelled after five episodes have aired. There's never any guarantee in this business, so I'd think they'd be thinking of ending Supernatural when they're ready to end it, regardless of what happens with Wayward. Plus, it sounds like they aren't going to be filming Wayward in Vancouver so keeping the crew employed won't be a factor anyway.
  11. Are they doing themed episodes? TNT does that sometimes. That might explain why they're jumping around.
  12. The whole demon-blood-needed-to-contain-Lucifer-while-none-was-needed-to-contain-Micheal story point was just plain nonsensical, but, yeah, it's not so much that both vessels required it, but the one true vessel would require much less. I get the point wasn't to give Lucifer a strong vessel as much as give Sam the extra strength to possibly survive and also be able to fight against Lucifer, but the thing is, if they were smart, they wouldn't have had Sam give Lucifer a stronger vessel. I think it would've been smarter to have the backup plan that if the rings didn't work, they should've done something to weaken Sam's vessel to ensure Lucifer would lose. Having Michael win wouldn't necessarily have turned out any better--judging by what happened in the AU--but they didn't know that at the time.
  13. He also played a priest in a late S8 episode, but I can't remember which one right now. Such a familiar face on so many shows shot in Vancouver. Rest in peace, Mr. Rhodes.
  14. I definitely could be they returned to the scene of the crime, so to speak, but if the rift is closed, why? Maybe they're "redressing" the same beach as a different location? I'm guessing Cass and Satan's deal about Jack they teased earlier this season will come into play here. Can't comment on where Sam and Dean are yet, but since it seems Cass isn't allowed to be in the presence of Sam and Dean for more than one episode, maybe they reached their quota the previous episode? ;)
  15. Yeah, I thought it was great how Dean was almost in denial throughout most the episode. He just didn't want to admit there was anything wrong with Sam. And Meg just kept pushing and poking until Dean kinda erupts when he smashes that computer. The episode has really keeps building and building. It's funny how many times I've seen it and I still watch it on the edge of my seat. Gamble didn't write this episode, Cathryn Humphris did.
  16. I don't know, I read it as, "I like it, but it needs work and I'm not confident fandom will like it,,,but hey, Briana is hilarious and Katheryn is a star...so it's not all bad." Regardless of his likes or dislikes, to me, he doesn't sound like he thinks it's going to be successful. Which, again, to me, doesn't bode well for the show.
  17. Yes, I read the entire comment, but IMO his comments about the show were perfunctory, at best. I guess I just wasn't won over by his, "I like it, but... ." His most glowing comments were about the two actresses.
  18. What I found interesting is Pedowitz's comments were more about a couple actresses and not the show. Doesn't bode well for the show itself, IMO. I also think he's trying to use Katheryn's "hot" factor right now to sell the new show. Which could backfire on him considering that Claire is a very contentious character in fandom as it is. He may end up alienating more fans than he hooks with it.
  19. I agree about Kathyrn Newton, but I think that's true of Madison McLaughlin too. She's played tough smartass teen a bit too often and they always seem to be basically Krissy. I'm not sure it's the actresses as much as the material they're given to work with. I just happen to prefer the character of Krissy more than the character of Claire--Claire's a bit of a whiny princess at times, but I have high hopes that she'll grow up a bit if the show goes to series. It would be kinda interesting to see the actresses switch roles and see if I still liked Krissy more than Claire.
  20. These kinds of small/quaint breweries are generally are family-friendly. People don't come in to get drunk, but sample some fancy beer and eat and just hang out for a bit. It's like visiting a winery except they make beer not wine.
  21. Eh, I've never really thought of it as an iconic line anyway, not like "We've got work to do" or "Saving people, hunting things; the family business" or "Family don't end with blood". I might be able to get worked up about it if the show itself had turned into an iconic line, though. As it is, I think it will be a nice tribute in honor of the show they were spawned. At least they're planning to acknowledge Supernatural. And, TBH, all this angst may be for nothing because Wayward may not even get picked up for series. My meter has shifted down over the last week or so, and just when I was starting to be somewhat optimistic on this front.
  22. The only time I've seen Dean as somewhat wanting to die is the beginning of this season. And, even then I'm not sure I'd say it was suicidal as much as just not caring one way or the other. If Billy sent him back, fine; if not, so be it. It's a very fine line between suicide and recklessness, sometimes.
  23. Personally, I never thought Claire would even be a regular on the series--probably just a recurring--let alone a lead. Katheryn is a busy gal and has been for a long while and I'd be surprised she would want to give up all these extra projects to work full-time on this little show. But, maybe I'm wrong? I like the idea that there will be different promos from different characters POV--hopefully they'll be better, though. I joked somewhere else that maybe they're going to kill off Claire in the episode to motivate everyone else so they're trying to use Katheryn now while they can. ;)
