  1. She doesn't have to mention that job in interviews and can just list Wellman as last employer. I don't know if a Google search would turn up the pen factory job, though.
  2. Yeah, but she could take that job and keep sending out resumés. If it causes friction with pen boy, the food delivery job is always there.
  3. " 'ello, darling, show us your Beefeater." That line had me laughing for the rest of the show.
  4. Well, that sucks! The Crocks were two of the more amusing characters on the show and I don't see them coming back from that. I suspected Jordan was the Watcher but I'd gladly trade him to get the Crocks back. He had his chance and now the Ultra-Humanite is up to bat.
  5. Isn't Cal still a kid in an aged-up body like Tom Hanks in "Big"? Maybe he shouldn't be going on dates with a grown woman. Of course, we don't know what really happened after he disappeared, so maybe he grew up normally before he came back.
  6. So they tease us with talk of Superman but I guess we'll never get to actually see him. You stink, show! I like Titus Welliver as Luthor but that huge beard is not working for me. Jon Cryer on Supergirl needed it because of his boyish face but here it's not needed. And Dick said Luthor has been trying to destroy Superman for forty years? Just how old are Lex and Clark supposed to be in this show?
  7. I don't get why sitting in a chair that gets sun is so precious when they can go outside and get all the sun they want. As to how intangible ghosts can sit on furniture and walk on floors, I tell myself that subconsciously the ghosts simply conform their bodies to those surfaces out of habit from when they were alive, or in the case of Thor and Sasappis, from years of seeing the living use furniture.
  8. So how does the show explain that they have a shuttle ferrying Iris back and forth but can't start carrying supplies to the ship and bringing back a couple of passengers to Earth on each return? They have years to do it before things become critical.
  9. What shocked me was how fat Del Toro has gotten. He was practically waddling in the intros and almost seemed out of breath at times, although that could just be his hesitant manner of speaking in English. I'm wondering if he was wearing a fat suit to emulate Hitchcock's appearance on his classic show. I've always liked anthology shows because if you don't like one episode, chances are you'll like the next one, having a different cast and story. I'm not really a fan of horror because I find the themes predictable but I liked this series primarily because of the quality of the production. It looked expensive and polished. I can't help wondering though how much of what we see is just green screen these days.
  10. Could the Watcher be Icicle back from the dead? I don't recall if what happened to the shards of ice when he was shattered was mentioned by anyone. Maybe the pieces melted, seeped into the ground and reformed in the sewer. If so, he might be disfigured or deranged by the process which is why he stays hidden.
  11. I'm curious about the giant statues in future London and what happens in history that motivates people to build them. And no more bananas in the next ten years? Noooo!
  12. Or given him medication to "calm" him down.
  13. That teacher's behavior was not believable to me. I think a real teacher would ask the kids to wait to be called or to raise their hands first so she can choose whose turn it was to answer. A teacher who would simply ask a precocious child to stay quiet doesn't fly.
  14. Bonnie's voice has been sounding pretty rough lately. I hope Jennifer Tilly's not having health problems. Her voice was always a little raspy but it used to be a rather sexy purr. Now it sounds like she smokes too much. She is 64, though, so maybe she's just getting "old lady" voice. Geez, don't bathroom doors in TV- and Movie-land ever have locks on them? Ever since poor Judge Reinhold got caught by Phoebe Cates in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" this trope has been bugging me.
  15. During the MM sketch, I was waiting for some payoff to having Brendan playing a woman. I thought he'd turn out to be a fan who grabbed any disguise he could to meet Marilyn. As it is, it seems as if they couldn't figure out another way to get Brendan in the sketch so they just said "whatever." In the barbarian sketch, did Kenan say the blood was in his mouth when he hadn't been splashed yet? I couldn't help thinking how they were ruining those costumes with those stains. I liked how they were sending up that absurd slicing-the-palm trope we see too often. Like Kenan said, there's ligaments in there! Just prick a finger! Have they done a game show sketch in every episode so far? I'm noticing it more ever since I read some reviews complaining how there are too many of those. I don't mind them but, yeah, it seems they do a lot of them.
  16. You're right! For some reason, when I wrote my comment, I thought it was more like the comics version. The shorts and sleeves didn't register until I rewatched it. I need to pay more attention when I'm "watching" a show.
  17. Loved seeing Daredevil again but not with that color scheme. There's a reason the comics dropped the yellow/red suit in favor of the deep red one early on. Yech! Great action from both characters and we finally see Jen in the super-suit, which looks more like a swimsuit, but that's what female characters get in the comics world. At least she won't have to worry about ripped pants like Bruce. I really feel sorry for the owner of that car Jen tossed in the parking lot. You'd think a lawyer would be more careful about property damage.
  18. My God, John Goodman just seems to keep losing weight! In the opener, when he was standing sideways to talk to Jackie, he had no belly at all and not much of a chest either. He looked almost as thin as Mark. I had to rewind just to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
  19. Did Rick replace his body with a robotic one at some point in this series? That was some Inspector Gadget shit he pulled with his eye and later his wrist. I'll admit I can never remember what happened in previous seasons, so maybe I'm missing something.
  20. That had to be a reference to the last scene in Hitchcock's "The Birds."
  21. About half of this show felt like product placement‐- BeReal and AMC especially. They're supposed to be spoofs but I can't help feeling that money changed hands. I don't think McD's would like the Grimace sketch, though.
  22. If anyone's interested there are several episodes of Circle of Fear, aka Ghost Story, available on YouTube. I've watched two episodes and it's pretty tame stuff by today's standards, being a network show in the 70s. At least there's no gross stuff like in Milkmaid.
  23. Another episode very reminiscent of the Tales From the Crypt series right down to the predictable ending. I suppose all these anthology horror series tend to look alike due to the shortcomings of the single-episode format where they can't really develop a story beyond a set-up and the payoff within an hour or half-hour. I don't hate it, but they need to come up with better, more original stories.
  24. I don't know if it's just the hairstyle, but that first shot of PP made me think of a young Jessica Walter. I like the idea suggested above that they are actually zombies and the virus doesn't just reanimate the body but replays your last memories on a loop, although that may sound like a version of hell.
  25. Welp, we don't watch this show for historical accuracy. Could Science Girl have been more of an anachronism? I can't imagine how a milkmaid could even have access to books in that little village.
