I think it was a combination of viewing Dean as the Alpha and wanting to make Dean like him. I liked that Jack gave Dean a little f/u with walking out the door and knocking to come back in.

I assume - but I don't know - that you can sign multiple times with sock accounts. A named someone else started a petition to keep Mark P., and that one has 2100 signatures. IMO they got a slower start because Castiel initially thought Sam was an abomination. ;) By season 8 they understood each other better and cared about each other. As far as no joy, well Sam hasn't experienced much joy over anything in the last several years!

Yes, I think that Cass was willfully ignoring them both because he was caught up in the civil war and later his conspiracy with Crowley. He may have only shown up because they had found a piece of Moses' staff. When I watched it the last time, I just wondered if Cass suspected at that time that he had screwed up and left Sam's soul. But I'll accept that he didn't realize until later. Never mind, I was thinking about an earlier s. 6 episode.............
