Toronto is also in the WC race - leading right now, but the teams chasing them might object that the Yankees aren't fielding their best team, which could have an impact on that race.

When the storm made landfall, the barometric pressure in it was 931.6MB, the lowest reading ever recorded in Canada.
  3. The only thing Skeletor loves more than winning is the sound of his own voice. Since they haven't been winning much, he has to talk more...
  4. I lived there for several years in the Air Force. The less said about it, the better. 😉
  5. GF went out after work tonight, so I was going around looking for something to watch. I thought I'd put on the game, then remembered it was on Amazon. I watched a few other things, then after an hour or so remember 'I have Amazon Prime!' and I just put the game on. We don't watch a ton of stuff there, so I didn't even think to put it on until now.

Apparently, on the Michael Kay radio show today, he said he wasn't aware of the talks until he saw it in the papers, and unless YES orders him to do it, he doesn't want to go on Apple to do the broadcast. He doesn't want to 'Big Foot' the Apple commentators out of a moment and doesn't feel working with two random people he's never worked with would make for a good broadcast.

  8. I don't know why they were scheduled with an overlap like that. I assume both games were on somewhere from start to finish - I was watching the Mets and switched to MNF in time to see the first game had just ended and they were getting ready to switch to the late game.
  9. There was a Goodyear blimp at the Jets/Browns game in Cleveland today... https://www.goodyearblimp.com/news-and-events/schedule.html

Chris Buescher's first Cup Series win was a rain-shorted race at Pocono 6 years ago. It's funny, I haven't seen any "this is his first 'real' win" posts anywhere today. Well, no, it's really not funny...
  11. I haven't seen them much lately, so those highlighter-green uniforms really threw me there. I was thinking they only did those ugly color combinations on Thursdays.
  12. No, that was an easy one, I'm always going to root against Dallas.

Amazed he had time for all that while he was screwing up the Marlins...
  14. I didn't watch the trailer but read about it. It's wrong in so many ways...

Mets won the first game of their doubleheader this afternoon, so they are back in first. Oh, and the Braves suck. 😉
  16. GF calls me the Dog Whisperer because of the way they seem to be drawn to me, and I always want to stop and love on dogs. I always ask the owner if it is alright to say hello to their dog first, and really appreciate it when someone asks before just going up to pet Jake.

I think most closers are, you probably have to be to have that role.

Oh, I don't doubt it will happen at some point. They have made so many changes, between widespread interleague play, universal DH, and all, that there really isn't much left to differentiate between the two leagues. They may have to wait until some of us dinosaurs are gone, but I expect it to happen.

The Mets have seen the last of the Phillies in the regular season. Right now, the Phillies have the last wild card spot in the NL, so they could meet up in the post season.

And lost 4 of 5 to the Mets a week ago. 9 games against their main rival, a chance to make a real move in the division, and they lose half a game in the standings.
  22. Das Boot was one of the few times I thought the movie lived up to the book, both were outstanding. In the Line of Fire is one of those movies I'll stop and watch anytime I come across it.

If they could do that all the time, I'd be fine... 😉
