  1. I'm not a fan of Kristin. I haven't really watched anything with her in it, so the feeling is completely irrational. But her squeaky little voice, excessive tan, and little miniature barbie doll look bug me to no end. That being said, this role was perfect for her. The sunshiny perfect personality with an undertone of grit was played very well. I look forward to seeing more! I also really like the character of Laura. She's unapologetic-ally unlikable, which makes her likable. I'm so hooked on this show! That season went by too quickly!
  2. It just occurred to me that many of us are saying Rick should have just killed Eugene for his betrayal (I thought the same. In fact, I shouted "Shoot the bastard!"). Yet, that's precisely what Negan does and part of what makes him a "villain". He kills people who double-cross him and don't follow his orders. Hmmm... Different perspective, I guess.
  3. Super late to the party. I'm just finally catching up on seasons I missed. I wrapped up this storyline and it dawned on me that I've seen Kai somewhere before. Sure enough... he was the lead in "Containment" the short lived mini-series that aired last year. I have no idea how I recognized him because even though it was only a couple of years apart, he looks completely different! He was so thin and young here and in Containment... whew boy! He grew up and bulked up! Wow. It doesn't even look like the same person!
  4. I actually liked this episode. It was 1,000 better than last week's, which didn't even feel like the same show. Last week was horrible! I've always been more fond of the character episodes than the action packed ones and this was a good focus on Eugene's character. I don't believe he's playing Negan. I believe, after getting beat down emotionally for years and treated like an idiot, that he truly feels respected now. He has a purpose and people appreciate him for who he is. He's never had that before. He's the socially awkward nerd that has never been popular. On top of that, bitch Rosita constantly insults him and bullies him. He's now wanted and people love him for his strengths. He's soaking it all in! I don't blame him one bit. He's got a pretty good set up. It almost made me forget all the horrendous things Negan has done. I had to keep reminding myself that he brutally murdered Abraham. Which Eugene conveniently set aside for his own personal gain. I liked it, a lot. Do more of this and less of the mad max garbage pail kids, please.
  5. I was trying to be kind. :) (also, I tend to confuse what was in the book vs. show and don't want to misstate anything)
  6. I think it was implied that Jamie was expecting to die and Claire was pregnant. Her only choice was to go back to Frank so her and the baby would be safe.
  7. So, I accidentally got spoiled that Ian died in this book. I was so bummed it never dawned on me that there was another. whew! I had a tough time reading this one. I'm already 1/3 into the next book and I can't put that one down. This one seemed to drag. Plus, I was hoping for an uneventful trip back home, but I didn't expect an instant transportation with no mention of the journey at all!
  8. Why don't our heroes go to the future?! Figure out what happens in the future and why and don't do that.
  9. If I weren't already married, I'd ask you to marry me.
  10. They set this up so well in the very first episode with Lucy's sister. Then.........nothing. Has anything changed in all the subsequent episodes? What a waste!
  11. Ah!!! That makes more sense. I seriously was so thrown off by that whole thing. Like who is this guy?!
  12. This entire episode was a lesson that I cannot play games on my iPad and watch Sherlock at the same time. I'm so very confused! What is Culverton's profession?! He was running a meeting in the hospital and drugged up a bunch of people... so he works at the hospital. OK. Wait, no. Now he's filming a commercial for cereal? In the hospital?.... so... he's an actor that works at the hospital? How? What? OK, now he's back in the hospital and told Sherlock he helped build the hospital.... hold on... so now he's a hospital worker who acts in commercials on the side and also does architect work? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? Someone please help explain what I missed!
  13. Bolded to reference what I'm responding to. Perhaps I'm naive, but I completely understood that. I've been through some tragic times and have said similar comments. When my dad passed away I was in a complete fog; almost looking at life from the outside, but I was actually living it. I think he was just expressing that he's more than a character on TV. That from a story perspective it's crazy, but it is actually his life. I got it. I don't know... I still see his reactions as realistic and not strategic. ETA: And for some reason he reminded me of Joey Mcintyre from New Kids on the Block. lol
  14. That shows how much I paid attention. I missed that completely. He said that on the show?
  15. I saw it differently. I appeared to me like he had no intention of telling anyone. He only told Jay in a moment of vulnerability and needing to share. He said nothing at the family visit. He pulled his brother aside privately. He never said a word to anyone. And if there was ever a time to exploit it, that would have been the time. But he was willing to lose the visit to not say anything. At the final tribal council he even said to Jay, "You know why" without further explanation. He actively tried not to say something about it. When he finally did say something I felt it was because he thought he had to, to explain the "you know why" comment. It was his truth. Usually when a contestant spews their sob stories I get irritated because they're trying to get sympathy. I didn't see that here.
  16. Just saw that a Survivor contestant died. :( I find myself forgetting people unless they were really memorable. Can anyone remind me of who he was? http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/01/04/survivor-gabon-contestant-dan-kay-dies-40.html
  17. I must say, this is the first Doctor Who preview I've seen and expect it to be terrible. I'm not looking forward to this and that disappoints me greatly.
  18. I don't think it was elective. I took it as they were slaves and some accepted it, some embraced it, and some wanted out. Not sure where the children/senior citizens were. That's a good question.
  19. Kelly lived her virtual reality in the fast lane. In the beginning, she commented on the people trying too hard. I think she was attracted to the "normal" and sweetness that Yorkie represented.
  20. This. Seriously, a woman not wearing a hat back in those days was down right scandalous! Add to that it was down and out of control, she may as well have a "prostitute" label on her. No way she'd be speaking to such high-ranking men, in public. Terrible.
  21. Odd to see a different perspective here. I've seen about six episodes so far and this one was my favorite. It was so dark and disturbing it really stuck with me. I originally thought the lead was so bland I was bored, until he lit up when he had a purpose. The blandness was played that I could see the soullessness. I thought this episode was brilliant!
  22. Long story short, we switched DVRs and lost all of season 11. So, I had to wait until it went on Netflix. My teenage son got me hooked on SPN and we love to watch it together....in Cottage Grove, MN. I'm pretty sure I spent about 15min screaming when the "Cottage Grove, Minnesota" text popped up. While we're not in Larson County (it's Washington), nor is our high school mascot clowns (Wolfpack), they did some homework as Woodbury is the next town over. And now "I went to Woodbury to pick up a woodpecker costume." will be forever in our vocabulary. Awesome.
  23. Wait... THAT was Evan Rachel Wood? Woah. I didn't pay much attention to the previews, but my husband insisted I watch this. The entire time I kept thinking how gorgeous that lead actress was and why hadn't I seen her before. Looks like she grew up!
  24. Meh. This just isn't hitting it like it did. That's a shame.
  25. No, the point is whether DanceSport is art or sport. A casual viewer sees it as art; a competitor/adjudicator knows there is specific technique involved behind the makeup and bling. We just don't have blades at the bottom of our shoes.
