Rhodes Scholar Reporting the News Show Discussion
M. Darcy replied to maraleia's topic in The Rachel Maddow Show
On the upside, maybe this means no more Celebrity Apprentice! Happy Birthday Rachel's Mom! -
Me too which was bad of me. They seem to talk about it a lot on Jeopardy.

Not the way that Gina McKee played her. Normally she is really good but not so much here. Heh, I started reading the Saga back when it aired....still reading it.

Oh, Chris Matthews is so wrong. People do hate Donald Trump. I can't be the only one. -
All In With Chris Hayes - General Discussion
M. Darcy replied to David T. Cole's topic in All In With Chris Hayes
Well, that was interesting last night. The ex Senator shouldn't have gone on the show with such old talking points. -
Unless he has an assistant named Blackadder and its all part of a cunning plan.

Don't answer it? James Taylor! Finally a musical act I've heard of.

Aw, she got to wear his hat! Heh, poor guy. All he had to do was salute the Queen that day. All their lives, she has the best ice breaker story and he has the worst one. Seriously though, considering he is in the military, I really hope that is the worst day he ever has. -
Life Away From Court: The Cast In Other Roles

After watching last night's Game of Thrones, one thing that I liked was that Thomas More and Cardinal Wolsey were both in the episode. It was nice seeing Anton and Jonathan again. -
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - General Discussion
M. Darcy replied to Primetimer's topic in Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
The first episode is also available for free on ITunes. A guide to Who's Who in JS and Mr N. (I don't think there's anything really spoilery in it - lots of "he causes bad things to happen" but nothing specific as to what they are) http://www.cultbox.co.uk/features/guides/jonathan-strange-and-mr-norrell-characters-guide -
Masood is just like Ian and Jane - he's not listening to the mother as to what she wants. That conversation with Tamwar was great - Tamwar was the voice of reason and saying everything that we are. Umm, Dean, don't you need to actually pay the money to Lola? Don't spend it all at once. Speaking of Dean, back in PBS land, we had our first episode with Dean Wicks over the weekend (we lost Dennis at 9 and got Dean at 9:30) - which sadly means I have double the Dean now. Uck. Matt looks so young though!

A Simpsons and a London category! If I ever got a Cliff Clavin game, those would be two of my categories. But boo to them for not finishing the London clues.

I know! He could save the Queen from an assassination attack and the headline would still be "soldier who smacked little girl saves Queen". His fellow soldiers must be having a field day. And, even worse, he couldn't even apologize until the Queen left the room and he could stop saluting. And, it was totally just a fluke of where they were standing in relation to each other. But heh, pow! I'm sure now that they will tell adorable moppets to step back after they hand their flowers to the Queen. -

Man, I start watching Rachel with a happy cry (that commercial) then a sad cry. You know, I was raised Jewish and as a result of how I was raised, my only reaction if two consenting adults want to get married or want to adopt a child is to say mazel tov...or maybe asking where they are registered. But I don't think you can blame religion on bigoted jerks. They use that as an excuse. Heh, that guy from New Hampshire kept using swear words. It was kind of cute. And, I admit, I laugh every time I see the little girl get smacked in the face....and then I feel bad. She is so adorable. -

That commercial. It made me cry - how can anyone get angry about it. Two women learning sign language for the deaf child they are adopting. Seriously, the only thing missing was a cute kitten. A deaf orphan! Getting a new family!! Wow - two "woo hoos" from Rachel last night. -

There's reports that BC will be awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Birthday Honours list on Saturday. As part of the Hamlet fun at the Barbican, they are going to be showing some of BC's movies in August http://www.barbican.org.uk/film/series.asp?id=1513 and, here's info on entering the lottery for the £10 tickets for Hamlet http://hamlet.barbican.org.uk/ -
I wonder if just Martin Chuzzlewit would have been acceptable as an answer. I'm trying to remember did Alex say Life and Times (which I kind of think he did) or did he say The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit which is the actual title.

Northanger Abbey (2007) - General Discussion
M. Darcy replied to Milz's topic in Northanger Abbey (2007)
Its the little things that are the most important. As I said, you can change things but not go against the spirit of the books. -
My question as if Nick actually ever had a funeral was finally answered. I think the only solution so the Ronnie/Charlie/Roxy triangle is for Charlie to date me.

Northanger Abbey (2007) - General Discussion
M. Darcy replied to Milz's topic in Northanger Abbey (2007)
If I remember correctly, my issues with Persuasion was that they had Anne run through Bath after she read The Letter (which Anne Elliot would never have done) to find Capt Wentworth and didn't they end it with him buying Kellynch Hall for her. Which, one - no. And two - it was entailed. Heh, I still remember with fondness my posts on TWOP on why the P&P movie with Keira K was just wrong wrong wrong. I had enough posts on it to write a book. -
Well, she is 16. That's how teenagers communicate.
