  1. My take on it is that they never fully revealed the bridge until after the fall of the wall. Yes, the scientists are management. Richard Schiff might be the TV MVP of righteous indignation since the debut of West Wing; love him.
  2. Ben needed to be dealt with. Now why they couldn't get him stabilized on meds with Ruth's support I cannot figure out other than plot reasons.

I do not care for the Ben character much, but the actor is killing it so far. Also, let me get this straight...Ben drove to KC for a fight that he got intimidated out of in Ruth's SUV, then goes to a swanky hotel bar also in KC instead of back home? He picks a fight, gets arrested, then Ruth shows picks him up driving her SUV? How did she get to KC?
  4. I'm here to eat all my crow....It was the flight attendant! Or Frank's mom!?
  5. I absolutely think Frank is the informant. He oozes this smarm because he knows how impressive the scheme was, how much of a ride they were taking McDonalds for and loves that his brother was a key player in it. He's clearly a raging, entitled a-hole for believing his brothers effects belonged to him/his family instead of his widow and son. He didn't go retrieve those pieces from the freezer for any other reason other than sticking it to Red Robin. I wouldn't be surprised if he just helped himself to whatever he wanted. He certainly acts as if he has a Get Out of Jail Free card...and you usually don't get one of those unless you're an informant. Mostly I believe the stories of all the other players involved because it has to be on the record from the court cases. Do they embellish a bit, or in Red Robin's case hide some things? Sure. I moved from NC (so I am very familiar with the areas of some of these characters) to Idaho several years ago and trust me the Mormon religion operates in such an insular manner that I absolutely believe that guy would be so trusting of his foster father as they would be on an island in the land of Southern Baptists. Whoever said this should have been a two parter nailed it.
  6. Bad eps of RT usually fall into one of two categories. They're either panels that get taken over by overzealous panelists who derail any and all hopes of maintaining any productive discussion (see Buck Sexton, Coulter, Amy Holmes, Erickson, Cornell West, Eric-Dyson, etc) or limp panels like this weeks where Bill isn't seriously challenged for his own questionable takes. Flanagan was something else! An apologist for men's bad behavior of the worst kind. No Caitlin women should not be super grateful to come onto a show where their lechers make comments about their looks in exchange for air time. Cox is a great actor and seemed to have a lot to say, but this format does not suit him IMO. Bill needs to get off his aggrieved old white guy cancel culture high horse. Chris Matthews may well be a wonderful guy, but the times are moving on and he had a nice run. I've wanted to see someone else in his time slot for years.
  7. Full disclosure I am a big fan of Garland's previous work even though I don't always love them fully. He's ambitious and not afraid to slowly ratchet up tension. On to Devs in particular, I am thinking de-evolution is what devs is about, not development as Sergei guessed. We have more concrete data points in our past but the code can fill in the blanks, thusly opening up all of time for review. When Sergei looked at the code he said it changed everything and Graves(?) replied it changes nothing. This would fit my theory because you cannot change the past, but if you could recreate it all virtually you could conceivably solve crimes, revisit historical event, et al. And Offermans character could see his daughter again.
  8. It was so rewarding to watch McFaul shut Erickson up with the often used RW talking points that involve the misuse of Fascism and Socialism. Boogey man words that stoke their base inside their little echo chambers. I thought Bill took it way too easy on Megyn and that interview was a nothing berder.
  9. The sound design on this show is top-notch. I feel like Bateman is doing good work showing, not telling for every scene. The slow creep of dread between the daughter seeing things, the hooded figure, and the mounting case questions are working for me.
  10. So Jaqen can outrun jack and make those leaps with those leg wounds having happened so recently? This show looks so good, but they scrimping on the writing. Noomi Rapace is much more than a rando side chick.

  12. Anyone catch the closing music to this ep was a Charles Manson tune called “Cease To Exist".
  13. Agree....normally I can follow Killer Mike down his pathway but that night was not last night. I wish they'd let Rick Wilson cook a little more...I have enjoyed him so much in his role as a never-Trumper.
  14. Wow, so that happened. Normally there are one or two songs that blow me away and I have to seek out, but some of this music we have had tonight was borderline unlistenable. Faux Ice on dancers to Ice Me Out repeated ad naseum? Hypercolor Sushi? A firefighter male revue to a song about purp? I mean there was some strange things goin on!
  15. Erica isn't like any kid from the 80's I ever knew. However, she is exactly like kids were depicted on television and thus stands out on the show as a bit of an oddity.
  16. This is Elle at her best IMO. Her original material should have been performed.
  17. Besides the future casting/characters that are on the horizon the two big plot points from the books I hope they make it to are I definitely recommend reading the books to anyone who is interested in this world they're building.
  18. I feel robbed of a scene where Ed tries to pin a medal on Yahpit.
  19. Inappropriate how? I thought she was channeling Michelle Obama in a sleeveless dress with her guns out. I was disappointed that right when they were getting into an interesting political discussion Maher shifted gears to Michael Jackson.
  20. Maybe I bumped my head but I actually liked the second generation tryout and I thought her song showed signs of a good storyteller. This show needs at least one judge who is a behind-the-scenes person a la Cowell or Iovine to really be the heavy. That's the secret ingredient to AI v1.0's success.
  21. or paraphrasing from the great American philosopher Matthew McConaughey.
