S08.E05: Halloween 4: The Revenge of Rod Skyhook
PaulaO replied to Artsda's topic in Modern Family [V]
This is the first episode this season that made me laugh. I loved June Cleaver. What the heck costume was Luke wearing? And being a librarian, I loved that Alex was reading "The Dewey Decimal System" while reclining on the couch. That said, I agree that the Dunphy kids are useless. Haley is a waste of space, Alex is nothing but a ball of anxiety and depression, and I never thought Luke was stupid. I think he's smart, but trapped. And the actor that plays Manny couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I still love Cam. And Jay. And Phil. And Lily, who looks 9 going on 16. That girl is growing up fast. -
I always confuse Theismann with Montana, even though I know Montana played for the 49ers. I even lived in DC when Theismann broke his leg. Never heard of echidna, so of course I had no idea as to FJ. I said platypus.

That's so cool about Helen Keller and Akitas.
-
Zac made a hysterical "OMG WTF" face during the runway, but I can't remember what dress they cut to. I think maybe it was Erin's. Anyhoo, I loved the look on his face.
-
Tasha's dress would have been better if she kept her original bodice and swapped the washed denim for the darker. That said, there would still have been no reference to that beautiful Absolut lounge. Nine times out of ten designers come up with what I would call cocktail dresses--short, pretty, sleeveless-but they can't figure anything out for an actual cocktail dress challenge? I was glad to see Erin taken down a notch, but not glad to see Dexter also acting like Miss Thing.

D'OH. FJ could not have been more obvious. Instaget. Hunter annoyed me with his swaying.

Too many BMS in Wednesday's game. First names should be required, especially when the last name is common, like Jackson (that may have been from Tuesday's game though). I made the same mistake--read the FJ category as Science FICTION Books, but came up with Silent Spring.

I knew it would be Selasi because he hadn't won star baker. Jane's petit fours were terribly lumpy under the fondant but I do predict she will win. She has been the most consistent. I will miss Candice's lipstick. It's so pretty! I could not understand what Mary was saying to Selasi about his flour. I thought she said "turn the flour" but it was sift. Maybe I need close captioning.

I said Heathcliff for FJ. How did Jerry get picked to be a contestant? He looked totally lost.

When I saw the title of the show (There Is No I in Team) (but there is a ME) I was scared it would be Wretchen all over again. How refreshing that the designers got along. No drama was needed. I loved the design of Erin's coat but hated the color and the embellishments. That dress was not mauve, it was beige. And Laurence's jacket was sheer perfection. I hated Team Unity's designs except for Mah-Jing's, and loved that Dexter got the win mainly for his leadership. I really like him--he would be fun to hang around with.

I focused on "golden years," said LBJ, then realized he didn't have 2 inaugural addresses, so said "I don't know. Rosebud= Robert Oscar Samuel Edward B(I have no idea) Ulysses David I immediately thought of that also when I heard the Pidge story.

I loved Heidi's look when she visited the workroom. She's such a pretty woman when she isn't wearing short/tight/shiny/cheap. Tasha should have gone home. I didn't think Jenny's was so bad. The swimsuit was fitted and looked like it could be worn swimming. And really, season one's swimsuit challenge produced so much better outfits without the benefit of being able to watch 14 previous seasons.

Oh I am so sad to see Seth go. He's not a big wagerer for DDs and FJ, but $5???? I think he was done. I had absolutely no idea about FJ and when Margie showed TGTF I assumed it was a made up answer and she was out. She was fine, but she will be a one and done. At least Seth beat AC, but who is above him? Julia and Ken of course, but who else?
-
I said anteaters for the probiscus question. And elephants are my spirit animal! Go Seth!!!
-
I immediately got FJ! but just now associated Nike with the <Greek/Roman> god and the swish. Seth got a squib in Friday's Chicago Tribune about his run on Jeopardy! No spoilers, just that he went to graduate school here and has won a boatload of money.
-
Paul said at the beginning that the biscuits must be crispy. I could tell Louise was a goner when she produced soft sheep. And Selasi looks like Idris Elba, which makes me happy.
-
Mythology (of any kind) is my anti-Jeopardy! category so I bet nothing and had NFC as to the answer. Even when Alex said Daedalus, the only thing I could think of was a very minor character in Harry Potter.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling let down. Face it, Alaska is always going to be in the top 2, and when she wins the LSFYL, she will always chop the one who isn't Roxxxy or Detox. It just pisses me off. I'm sad to say I'd rather watch Project Runway than these shenanigans.

Got FJ but initially thought the dates were too late for H.S. Seth is the most un unlikeable guy. I can't find fault with him and hope his streak continues. Yesterday he said his mom like 3 former players: Buzzy and 2 others that for the life of me I cannot recall. And ohoh, I got Tabard Inn cuz I actually ate there about 30 years ago!

Same novel I thought of "Of Mice and Men." George and Lenny being drifters.

S15.E01: Road to the Runway Season 15 / S15.E02: An Unconventional Runway
PaulaO replied to yeswedo's topic in Project Runway
At least Heidi finally realized and said "of course we've seen these dresses before" acknowledging there are only so many designs in this world. After 14 seasons, it's all been done. I vowed I was not going to watch, but got sucked I'm. I hope there will be less drama and more design. Most of the designers seem to be grown ups... -
I didn't get King either. I KNOW it's MatthewcHenson, but I ALWAYS say Matthew Peery. I'm combining explorers.

Percy! I forgot about Percy! You are right, Ron was the 6th.
-
Ron Weasley was not the 6th in his family to attend Hogwarts. He was the 5th child, or the 7th to attend if you count his parents. Or did I misinterpret the clue?
