  1. A tear in my eye and a lump in my throat watching the tributes to Robert Osborne.
  2. I answered "Lord of the Flies" cuz the writers love that book.
  3. Nobody recognized Mary Pickford. Boo. I'm a non-stodgy librarian (sans tattoos) who got my MLS in 1981. I flunked card catalog filing 3 times. I smoke (not at work), swear (at work) and listen to Led Zeppelin at my desk. Gretchen is hardly a rebel librarian.
  4. I loved Grant's green sweater. Got FJ! after thinking about XX, but then said "that can't be right."
  5. Exactly how stupid is Luke supposed to be that he couldn't get into colleges that are barely accredited???? How did Phil and Claire end up with one genius kid, and 2 supposedly dumber than a box of rocks children.
  6. Instaget FJ! I did miss Dada though. Brandon's swaying wasn't nearly as bad as Rachel's last week. Or earlier this week, I blocked it out.
  7. I would not have come up with FJ! ever. My world geography is poor. I will miss A Jessica.
  8. I do not watch sports (except tennis, skiing, and track and field), but I find most 30 for 30 shows fascinating. ESPN2 seems to run them continually. This weekend I watch Nancy/Tonya, and the BC points shaving scandal. Fascinating to learn about points shaving. I'm a born and bred Chicago girl but can't watch the Bears episode. Very emotional.
  9. I had no idea as to MacGuyver. I said Rube Goldberg but knew he wasn't a tv character. Nice article about Annie. She's more than an unemployed bartender. I wish her the best.
  10. How do you not know that Faulkner was born in Mississippi???
  11. Rachel drove me nuts with her flat affect and swaying. I felt like I was watching Eeyore. And she was ready to cry when she lost.
  12. Is the academic study of last names a real thing? Cuz that's what Annie wants to do. What college confers a degree in that? I admit I turned off the game halfway through because it was a runaway. Runaways are no fun to me. And John Paul (who I liked, and wonder if he has a brother names George Ringo), your mom now knows you are a go-go dancer.
  13. I wouldn't have known FJ! if you put a gun to my head and I stood at the podium for a year. I could only come up with Albania.... (cue Coach from Cheers song).
  14. I woke up this morning still sad about Mr. Osborne.
  15. Damn. Just saw this on CNN. I will miss Robert terribly. He was one of the last true gentlemen. Godspeed Robert.
  16. I knew Capra immediately because I've seen every one of his movies multiple times (yes, even It's A Wonderful Life) but really didn't think it was an easy clue. I figured he was passe as a director.
  17. World Religion as FJ! I said the correct answer but then said "nope, that's too obvious" so I negated it. Dumb@ss question. I was neutral on Kirstin except for her incessant head tossing. I expected her to neigh at some point.
  18. Elvi is from an ancient SNL skit with John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd playing white jumpsuit Elvis and black leather jacket Elvis. Can't remember who was who but it was hysterical. Back to the show. I loved Million Dollar Quartet and looked forward to this series. The first episode dragged a bit but I can see that I'm going to enjoy it.
  19. I want Gary to win. Just because. When the FJ! category was revealed, I said my standard "Troilus and Cressida." I then changed to Richard III when I saw the clue. Had an internal debate for 20 seconds, RIII or RII?
  20. I don't have a favorite season. I watch the show in reruns and they aren't aired in order. I do love "Coal Digger" and Cam's "do you, Mitchell, do you?" "Yard Sale" with Jay saying "you're wearing a $10,000 watch and arguing over an ashtray. Get out of my yard." "Regrets Only" with the simultaneous subplots of Mitchell regretting mailing the invitations, Jay regretting buying Gloria a karaoke machine, and Phil and the wedge salad.
  21. Can someone explain the title of this episode? I always get the pun or in-joke, but not this week.
  22. I didn't get snitch and I'm old. Ish. Bob Harris (?) (who wrote Prisoner of Trebekistan) rigged up a practice device with a pen taped to something then wrapped in duct tape. I have no problems with that. I thought I was the only person who disliked winners, although I did like Alex yesterday. A physics major! Maybe he can be in CalTech's Physics Bowl.
  23. I disliked Lilly so much that I turned off the show mid first round and deleted it. Good to hear she didn't win.
  24. Jeopardy! is rerun on Saturdays on my ABC affiliate. One of the DD (subject was something like literary siblings) was: Careen and Suellen O'Hara were the flighty sisters in this book. The guy missed it--had no clue. I laughed my butt off. And for the record, Scarlett is wearing a green and white sprigged muslin dress in the first chapter. It was an afternoon dress and Mammy was horrified that the next day Miss Scarlett was going to show her bosom before noon.
  25. The entire game was teen tournament level, butbI had no idea for FJ! I couldn't even make an inspired guess. Off to look at the flag....
