This! My husband died in 2016, my aunt's long term boyfriend left her in January of this year. She took off of work for a week after the breakup, still cries about it everyday and just started medication because of the breakup. She sees the asshole every weekend still. Every time she cries over him, I just keep saying "he didn't die for fucks sake. You can still talk to him everyday and see him." A breakup is not even close to a death.

A little off topic, but I lost my husband to a heart attack in 2016. A year later I started dating someone that I have know since I was 15 but hadn't seen in 30 years. (thank you FB). We are now in a committed relationship and it scares the hell out of me too. I know exactly how you feel.

I just saw on Instagram that Gretchen is having a baby only to actually read the story that says they have just finished IVF and will find out in a few weeks if she is pregnant. They also said that the IVF made her breasts bigger. HAHA

My niece just had her first baby on March 28th. She was due on April 2nd, but since her doctor was going out of town, she opted to have her water broken to induce since she was afraid to have a strange doctor see her. She had no idea that the nurses would be doing most of the checking. LOL Anyway, her baby girl was obviously not ready to come out because 31 hours after they broke her water she had to have a c-section due to her fighting against the pictocin because she was afraid of pain (FYI she wanted to have natural childbirth so I am not sure what she thought was going to happen pain wise). She finally allowed to be medically induced, but still no baby. She then developed an infection from her water being broken too early and having strep A or B (not sure which) that the doctor was aware that she was positive for 2 weeks prior but did not treat. So she had an emergency section and the baby had to stay in the NICU for a few days because she had a fever as well. I was not happy with her doctor or my niece for trying to force the labor for no good reason. Anyway, I just started following Jill and her family and since FJ doesn't seem to want to approve my request to join the site, I guess that I will baby watch there but post here. :)

I am from the Deep South (New Orleans) and I call my mother's best friend since they were babies "Aunt". But, I call my mother's sisters by their first names, never "aunt". Probably since we are pretty close in age and were raised more like sisters. Also, even though I am middle aged myself, I still call older people Miss or Mr.

As another Louisiana girl, I just wanted to say that I loved this. :)

OMG, I just looked at those "professional" photos. First of all, those are some of the worst maternity pictures that I have ever seen. My niece just had her maternity photos and they are beautiful. Jill's are downright creepy and so very fake looking. The ones with her creepy looking husband gross me out. I only just heard about this family so I don't know much about them but dear God, they are a CPS reporters dream. Those kids look so malnourished and sad. I am now really disturbed by them.

Just saw that there is gong to be Southern Charm New Orleans. Since I am New Orleans born and bred, I can't wait!

Thank you! I have a 4 year old granddaughter, when my daughter and I go for our walks/runs for exercise, she is in her jogging stroller. Trust me, she gets plenty of exercise on her own. If we didn't put her in the stroller, we would not get the exercise that we need. She sits in comfort with a fan blowing on her, water bottle and her tablet while we are huffing and puffing. LOL Also, I am sure that if Teddie and her husband didn't take the kids with them, someone would snark on them leaving them behind with a nanny or something.

No, Former Nun, I don't think that it has changed that much but I know that for myself I am more comfortable with the setting in my therapist office than the psychiatrist. It just seems less informal and I feel a real connection with her. But that is just me. My therapist cannot prescribe meds because she is not a medical doctor.

You can go to a psychiatrist for medication or your GP can also prescribe it. Some people feel more comfortable speaking with a therapist than an actual psychiatrist. So you can get your meds from a psychiatrist but go to a therapist for the actual counseling.

I have been suffering from situational depression and anxiety since my husband passed away last October. I felt pretty much the same way that you did until I also got on some medication that really helps me. I am also seeing a grief therapist. There is no shame in seeking help and I hope to not have to be on this long term. I really hope that Adam is seeking the right kind of medical help that he needs. It sucks feeling that way, but there is help for it. FYI, I totally understand the baby not sleeping. My daughter who is now 26 did not sleep a whole night until she was 2. When she had her daughter 3 years ago I kinda hoped that she would get a little payback but NOOOO my granddaughter slept all night after her first 2 weeks and will still ask to take a nap or go to bed. :)
