I expected and wanted to like this one much more than I ended up liking it, but the pacing was really off and brought down the beautiful scenery and pretty much all around great acting IMO. I agree with a poster upthread about it probably working better as a mini series.

I still comfort myself that Susan's storyline was conceived differently, but then thye changed it because of BTS and Willa's episode count going down.

Thing is, I think the storyline would have worked better with Susan intetntionally annoying him most of the time. Carly Pope is not without charm and I think she was hindered by the way Susan was written or underwritten. They could have even fallen into bed together while being semi on the outs, then Oliver asks her out on a date because he doesn't want to be that guy anymore and boom, Chase kidnaps Susan because he catches wind of it. All the bases why they needed Susan there would have been covered.

I can't even remember who Luis was. And reading that Bellick was killed actually shocked me. I thought I finished season 3, but I guess I either didn't or I repressed this piece of information. ETA: According to Wikia Luis was charged for car theft and had been in Sona for three years by season 3, making him 14 at the time of his arrest. Also, him being included into the escape because of his father's usefulness seems directly copied to Sid's story. Although at least Luis apparently got a happy ending.

I never thought about how many episodes Malcolm was in in S1, but kudos all around for making him meaningful, while not overtaking the show.

Not that I remember. There was a question about William bonding with Felicity, Dig and Aunt Thea, but SA said he couldn't discuss it. @LeighAn, yup, he's a fan of Oliver dying at the end. I mean, if it's 86-year-old Oliver falling asleep in his reclining chair and never waking up after his extended family has come for the traditional Sunday lunch, okay. Not that I need to see that either.
