  1. Guys! Stop it! I'm still in denial. This is not happening...this is not happening...this is not happening...
  2. Reggie was great and really should've been one of the final two.
  3. Maybe he cut himself shaving or got bumped in the mouth while playing with his kids or dog? But...nah...definitely Fight Club.
  4. Right there with you, @attica. I fast forwarded through the interview. I keep thinking about Hope & Glory, which came out eons ago and was about the home front in WW2 England from a boy's point of view. The really interesting story was his older sister's but we only got glimpses from his pov.
  5. I loved Ben but I have no problem accepting Michael Emerson as Harold on Person of Interest. OK, I do sometimes think Harold and Ben were separated at birth and one of them had a good father. But mostly I think ME is a very good actor who managed to distinguish the two roles even while looking very Ben-like in the POI pilot.
  6. Maybe Stephen would point out that a bear Pope could be called Papa Bear.
  7. That's my fanwank for why Ben became an idiot in season 6 of Lost.
  8. Where'd everybody go? I liked Phirman and his British-quality world play, especially "no fellate fees".
  9. This is the least I've watched of an episode since the last time a musical guest ate up the last half. I started fast-tforwarding during the author chat and didn't stop till I got to @midnight.
  10. Was the girl who spanked Wayne high? Every time she was on camera, which was often since she was behind Aisha, she seemed to be gazing vacantly off to the side.
  11. I can't bear to listen. Is there up-talk as well? I would like to hand out fines and enrollment in speech therapy for girls who up-talk.
  12. I'd like to share in the removing the bra meme, but bralessness in any situation outside of bed has not been an option for me since high school. I am certain there are others who can relate. Of the other things mentioned recently, people always wearing shoes indoors has been a pet peeve of mine for years. I come in the door, the shoes are off. I guess that's my version of removing a bra because shoes I will remove in the car and drive barefoot if it's warm. And shoes belong by the outside door, not in a closet with clothes--tracking dirt through the house, getting the sweaty shoe smell on other clothes, gross. I have also marveled at the one-punch knock-out so many TV guys can deliver.
  13. Ford should get a trademark on that phrase. It could fund his habit and the inevitable mega-meltdown followed by an extravagantly tasteless funeral.
  14. This is actually from the original radio play of The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (I actually hear the voice of The Book in my head as I type that): "Civilizations rise and fall and rise again. There will, one day, be lemon-soaked paper napkins. Until then, there will be short delay." I usually only say the middle part, in situations where long-term plans are being discussed by administrators, or any time it seems apt, really.
  15. It reminded me of Lost so I suspect it was actually Charles Widmore who sent the plane of corpses. He's evil like that.
  16. Someone posted in the TCM topic that TCM will be running his movies all day next Monday. I looked at the line-up and cannot believe The Great Escape is not on it the list, and am disappointed neither of the Support Your Local... is. The Americanization of Emily is on it, though. @mariah23, I've borrowed your link: TCM schedule of James Garner films 7/28.
  17. Don't give the weird Bloody Mary people any ideas for more ingredients, please.
  18. The only time I knew my scores--there are 3 major companies that calculate credit scores--was 10 years ago when I was thinking of buying a new car. Your score can get you better interest rates on financing. Since then, I haven't bothered.
  19. I'm waiting for the opportunity and balls to give this answer from The Closer when asked "You think you can do better?": "I'd be ashamed if I couldn't."
  20. I was not keen on this episode as it seemed to contain every possible TV trope with regard to old friends. More when it has aired here...
  21. Michael York was the weak link for me. I enjoyed him in other things, but D'Artagnan is such a dope I just couldn't stand him. I was so relieved not to loathe the D'Artagnan in this adaption, based on ho repellant I've found all of the other portrayals beginning with York. Except for older D'Artagnan in sequels. Oliver Reed is the gold standard Athos imo. Rrrrowr.
  22. Richard Armitage is a good actor and a very, very attractive man with a very sexy voice. I still think he's the most gorgeous man in the world. No matter what else he does, he will always be Guy of Gisbourne to me. Also, I will never--never--forgive Peter Jackson for obscuring the beauty with dwarf make-up. Fuck you, Jackson! God. It's like George Lucas casting Liam Neeson and Ewan MacGregor, two actors never shy about shedding their clothes, and making them remain fully clothed. Idjit. Ahem. Forgive my rant, please.
  23. Reading the appreciations on Deadline and other sites reminded me of two things: How brilliant The Skin Game is. I loved that movie. Garner and Lou Gosset (as he was then called) were fantastic together. And, although I enjoy Victor/Victoria a lot, I wish they'd had the guts to have King kiss "Victor" without being sure he was a she. The bath scene really undermines that moment, imo. Ooops, make that 3 things: He and Donald Pleasance were the most touching part of The Great Escape and they were the only ones whose fates I really cared about. OK, 4 things (no one expects the Spanish Inquistiion and their 2...3...4 most important weapons...). I recall Tom Selleck talking about hard it was for him to get a break in TV because he's so tall, and so many leading men are short and self-conscious about it. It was Garner who gave him his first big break with the recurring character of Lance (?) on The Rockford Files. I think that and an appearance on Murder, She Wrote led to his getting the role of Magnum.
  24. If it was the skeleton of a shark, I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped it.
