  1. Brooke has been really bugging me since she kowtowed to her insecure husband. I lost all respect for her there. I was mystified on the fundraising task when she was the only one whose fundraising total was never revealed. I was pretty sure at that point that she was this season's "untouchable." Which automatically makes me root against her. I was really Team Carson and was so disappointed in how this task turned out. Earlier today I watched a repeat of Celebrity Cupcake Wars and Carson and Brooke were F2. Carson won. So there's that.
  2. I said this same thing to Mr. Jillybean last night. I'm baffled that anyone would try to remove a cake from a pan without first checking with toothpicks to ensure it is completely baked (or, as Valerie would say, "cooked"). I was no star baker at age 9, 10, or 11, but I knew that much.
  3. I thought I remembered that Jennie lives in New Jersey? Her accent didn't sound quite like Jersey to me, though. Amanda's hair looks to me like naturally curly hair (which I have as well, only could never wear it in such a short cute style). Funny, I was thinking that she looks like someone who probably never bothers with makeup but had to wear some for the show.
  4. This is my favorite show, and Sterling K. Brown is my favorite actor in it, but I HATED Randall's mushroom trip. I couldn't think of any circumstances under which Randall would drink a smoothie that some stranger brought to their cabin. And the fact that Kate & Kevin just left him to his own devices outside seemed wholly implausible. There were so many ways they could have gone with this storyline, and choosing a hallucinatory drug trip seems like such tripe. The scenes of Randall hallucinating his family in another time rang false to me. I hope they bounce back next week, because this episode was a "miss" in my book. /UO
  5. Best part of the episode: on the set of Rogelio's show, the sign on the table that read "Rogelio's Celery."
  6. I struggled to get through this episode. I've deleted the timer for this show. So long, CEG.
  7. I remember her from a few episodes of Brothers and Sisters. She was a love interest for Dave Annable's character. Wooden there, too, but pretty.
  8. This is shaping up to be another season of the same old stuff. Except the laughs have pretty much vanished. Rebecca is downright depressing.
  9. Episode 4 Postmortem from Dan Fogelman This is mildly spoilerish, not giving anything away but hinting at future plot points/character developments. I recognized Toby's ex, played by Natalia Cigliuti, from Raising the Bar. I was sort of relieved about Kate's note. I had read in a previous interview with Fogelman that we would find out something had happened to Kate to ruin her confidence, and that could have gone in a much darker direction. Mean girls suck, but many of us have had to deal with them.
  10. I knew it was Pittsburgh because of the Terrible Towel Jack used to cover his manhood in the opening scene of the pilot.
  11. Because I haven't seen it mentioned, Chrissy's voice is lovely and she was singing "I've Never Been to Me!" I had that album on vinyl back in the day. I rewound Kate socking Toby at least twice. Also, it looked like Randall now has more than one volume of Dudley Randall poetry at home, including the book William gave to Rebecca. Personally, I'm enjoying all the characters and storylines. And I like that the twist came early in the episode this time.
  12. This is the first time I'm watching the Halloween Baking Championship. I didn't really get into these shows until last year. Someone from my town is competing (John), so I figured I'd tune in. Jeff Dunham? I'm not familiar with him but he comes across as extremely awkward. And ventriloquists are creepy AF. I have no idea what he has to do with this show or baking. I didn't see Damiano's season and I don't understand the fuss about him. He was the most critical judge. The other two were inoffensive. I actually prefer the usual lineup of host and judges. Wow. Why the departure here?
  13. I had no idea this show existed until a few weeks ago. Maybe because all we watch on USA is Motive and that hasn't always aired on USA? Anyway, I assume there was little to no promotion or marketing. I liked the gals in their previous show so I wanted to check this out. My husband had to stay in all weekend 2 weeks ago for an allergic reaction so we binged S1 on On Demand. S2 on the other hand, was nowhere to be found on On Demand or on USA's website -- despite their suggestion to "Binge-watch every episode of the first two seasons!" We eventually found S2 on Hulu, only available until the following Monday -- so I signed up for a free month so we could catch S2. This is a funny show but watching both seasons in one weekend is a LOT. Anyway, I don't understand how they expect to bring in new fans if they don't make all the episodes easily available online for free...
  14. My God, this show is terrible. I mean, that isn't exactly breaking news, but I think it has hit a new low.
  15. Even still, the 10-year age difference between the actors is a problem for me, i.e. he doesn't look younger than he is and she doesn't look older than she is. I wasn't able to buy that they are 15+ years apart in age.
  16. I really like Carrie Preston, but she was the wrong choice for Coyote's bio-mom. The two actors are only 10 years apart in age. I'm constantly confused about the ages the "kids" are supposed to be, but EE and CP both look their ages (he doesn't look any younger, and she doesn't look any older), and the choice made no sense. It took me out of the episode. Apparently he and Mallory are supposed to be about the same age, but the choice to have Brookyln Decker play a character several years older than her actual age doesn't work either, even if they constantly have her in little to no makeup.
  17. I guess we'll never know. I'll miss Stamos with the babies who played Edie!
  18. I'm trying to imagine how one goes to LAX and finds someone getting on a flight to NYC. Why didn't Jimmy just call Sara? I haven't watched the past few eps of The Grinder - they're still sitting on my DVR. I've thought about deleting them. It sort of just seems like the same episode every week with slight tweaks.
  19. Whereas I think Paget Brewster has become increasingly manic and ridiculous in the role. Though I don't think she's being given good writing to work with. For some reason I thought Jimmy's dad lived in Florida.
  20. Yeah, it almost made me wonder if the actor wasn't available for Season 2, because that plotline seemed to change rather abruptly. Man, the Great Sand Caper was stupid AF. And what are the odds that Melanie (?) would be there? Very contrived. It's almost like the Duplass Brothers are making a show that they would want to watch, not one that the masses would enjoy (the whole Dune plotline). I still think Michelle is a milquetoast and don't enjoy her character. I assume that next week's episode was in the can before they knew it would be there series finale, so I'm not really expecting anything to be wrapped up unless they did it "in case." I'd watch a show about Tina & Alex, but don't care about Brett and Michelle.
  21. Tina is actually the only character I like at this point. She's very authentic, and she doesn't give up hope. I don't find her especially shallow, though. Of course, I came to this show solely for Amanda Peet, who is still stunning at 44 despite what the nerd said. She has had 3 "geriatric pregnancies" so I'm sure she got a kick out of that. I did quite a bit of online dating and always used a current photo. I can't imagine that Tina would use an old photo, despite her self-esteem issues. I had no idea the show has been canceled; fortunately I'm not enjoying it as much these days so I won't miss it much. http://deadline.com/2016/03/togetherness-canceled-2-seasons-hbo-1201726228/
  22. Who the hell invites their Uber driver inside for drinks and sex? Brett actually looks like he COULD be a serial killer, so that chick was a moron. Perfectly reasonable for Larry not want children, he's much older than Tina (who is getting close to being too old to have kids, unless Tina is supposed to be younger than AP). But it would be bizarre to suddenly whip out a condom if they haven't been using them all this time. The other storylines are growing stale for me. I miss the friendship between Alex and Tina. No one on the show loves each other anymore, and it sucks.
  23. This is the central relationship in the series and has been since the pilot when Brett took care of Alex after he was evicted. I am new to the series and binge-watched all of S1 and S2 eps 1-4 on Sunday/Monday. To me, this relationship is the one the others revolve around.
  24. Same here. I would watch her in just about anything. I didn't get this, either. Shouldn't the prospect of becoming a series regular be all he cares about at this point? Maybe he was actually concerned about the integrity and plot of the show (changing from a vampire to a pimp doesn't make a whole lot of sense)...
  25. That was Hilarie Burton, best known as Peyton on One Tree Hill. At the end of most episodes, after the credits roll, the Duplass brothers do a little behind the scenes about the episode. In this one they explained that slow rolling is a real thing, and the participants chat during the ride about ways to improve their city. The actors were permitted to join a real slow roll to film this scene.
