  1. Nice article about Kitty in the Dallas Observer...popped into my Facebook feed. Good job, targeted marketing! This quote from Kitty made me laugh out loud. "I always say to put on a thong and bra and shake in front of the mirror. And anything that shakes, get rid of it,” Carter tells the class about being fit for auditions. This is interesting too: "In 1977, the Cowboys cheerleaders began gaining national attention. “When they came to us and said we were going to have to be on TV and needed to lose 10 pounds, I was out of there,” Carter says, laughing. “I wasn’t willing to do that. I knew I didn’t have a dancer’s body, but I didn't care. I was very talented from the knees up."" http://www.dallasobserver.com/arts/cowboys-cheerleader-trainer-kitty-carter-dishes-out-criticism-for-a-living-and-shes-not-sorry-9272552
  2. @heatherrrrz - I just found out an acquaintance's husband and I have been interviewing for the same job. So damn awkward since she's pretty much packing her bags to move (we would have to relocate) and I'm like ummmm. Damn. He already works for the company but I have more experience, so we'll see. It's such a crapshoot. I really want the job but will probably respect them more if they go with the internal hire. Job hunting is the worst. So many employers are ghosting, even after multiple rounds of interviews. I had a phone screen, four hour Skype session, personality survey and provided FIVE required references that each had to fill out a screen about me (bananas) and only found out I didn't get the job from logging into their online application kiosk. They had sent me their benefits package to review, too. Sigh. I guess I should just be thankful their kiosk had a NOPE option once I clicked around a while. A couple years ago I went for three rounds of in person interviews and never heard from them again. At least in dating I can just assume they died, but with work it's not like they just closed overnight ??
  3. Honestly, I kept ping ponging betweenness Stephanie and the dude behind her. He's amazing! I love watching taller than average peeps do the choreography, because they have a further distance to go when popping up and getting their booties down. He definitely has some hustle! But mostly came to post this screen shot from Erica's Instagram. It's pinky ring time!
  4. Jasmine was probably passed out and napping somewhere, Corrine style. Because Miss J was druuuuuuunk as could be that episode. Lol. This would please me so much. I love that show! Good heavens, this is a weird BDSM fanfic just waiting to happen. Thanks for the mental image of Nick all trussed up and whipped and then being cuddled during after care. I like Nick just fine, but no thank you.
  5. @California Girl - thank you for sharing your story with us. Learning about other life experiences has always given me a good boot of empathy, whether I needed it or not. Perspective is always good. And I'm very envious of your bilingual abilities! I never got earthworms in my hair, but a whole school bus full of kids threw themselves to one side like I was tipping it over when I got on. I'd like to say I grew up to be lean and strong, but that didn't happen. I am smart and strong, though, and success always tastes sweet ?? I love this stuff too. I'm pretty good about staying away from any type of sweeteners (headache central), so adding a ripe frozen banana and some other frozen fruit normally did the trick for me. Good stuff!!!
  6. I think Tasha is just pretty as can be, in a very stereotypical Dallas way. The lipstick is unique to her, but the super blonde, super tan and super made up look definitely is not. And I think she has good male appeal, if we're trading on stereotypes. Big blonde hair and tatas won't really serve you wrong in a lot of circles.
  7. Looks like cotton linen. Damn, I'm so sad your shoes did that to you. Ouch. The older I get, the less BS I'm willing to take from my wardrobe.
  8. I know we've talked about it elsewhere, but Veronica was also a fourth year girl, had an endorsement deal with NIKE and offered a different look for the team thanks to her Native American heritage. Kelli is a sucker for a tall blonde, but probably annoyed a show group rookie let herself go pre auditions and didn't seem like she was in a big hurry to turn it around. Hannah lacked that sense of awareness and urgency from what we were shown. And I still strongly dislike her beige audition costume that blended with her skin in such a weird way. Sometimes a nude looks good (no matter the nude a race or ethnicity might define) and sometimes it's just that shade or two off. Hannah's was off. I know they obsessed about those red gloves tho.
  9. Soooo he didn't make it last with crazytown from BiP? Shocker. I like Grant and agree he's great looking, but not sure he's at her level intellectually. Tho I'm honestly not sure if that matters. This show, I swear.
  10. Sooooo maybe not as unpopular an opinion as I thought ? Thanks for backing me up @Oranaiche and @LaurenBrook.
  11. Is it still a spoiler when it hits mainstream media? One of the Dallas area local newscasters Ron Corning just shared this US Weekly story on Facebook. http://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/abc-casts-rachel-lindsay-as-first-black-bachelorette-w466905?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=breakingnews&utm_campaign=021317_19
  12. Lorenzo was the prince, right? That's kind of snazzy. Aaron just had his restaurant in Springfield, MO. I can't remember for the life of me about the others.
  13. I actually kind of liked the Minchew sisters. It didn't seem like an unreasonable expectation going into auditions to have a weekend during the summer to pass a crown, or to miss a game for the same. Women in the past had missed games for weddings, health reasons, whatever. Once they knew that wouldn't be a possibility maybe they should have withdrawn, but I thought Kelli and Judy overreacted. To miss a whole year for one weekend...I can see why they wanted to try. And they were pretty and seemed nice too. I guess one woman's stuck up is another woman's polished pageant girl? I might have lived in Texas too long.
  14. I assumed it was literal bling like a ring but a comment further downstream made it sound like the goodies ??? Probably @QuiteContraryMoni 'S fault.
  15. Nope! It looked just like the meals in my pic. I loved their snack packs...just meat, nuts, veggies. I tend to make my own or buy similar at the grocery store now tho. I lived on Diet Gourmet (I think that's what it's called?) and protein bars in grad school since I was also working full time. That seems to have been replaced with My Fit Food and Snap Kitchen tho. I wish it had come around sooner! Dallas has done a good job at embracing healthier restaurants in the last few years, finally.
  16. It's all fresh food, not frozen. And the sodium tends to be much lower. I went to a quilt retreat this weekend that didn't provide food, so I picked up these on the way. My friend brought a homemade quiche tho, so I bailed on my purchased breakfast and ate hers ? Maybe? But you still have to prep and cook those. And omg the waste. I did it once and couldn't repeat, even tho the meals were really good. Honestly, it's a little cheaper to do the premade too. But some people love to cook. I am not those people for sure :)
  17. Wow, totally gone. Here's a screen shot of their stripped down website. The sign on their Preston and Royal store listed four other locations that were still open. Guess not?
  18. From the Unpopular Opinions thread... @LaurenBrook - your brand of Christianity makes me want to try church again sometimes. People who live their life through their faith, show don't tell, help others, kindness... that's the Christian I was raised to be and I think it got lost somewhere in politics. The outlook on abortion and homosexuality and particularly the way those two topics are treated is where I really lost my way. I still believe in God, though, and I think there are good parts and pieces to the big three that fall under that umbrella (Christianity, Islam and Judaism.) I do give an eyebrow to those who thank God for saving them in a natural disaster when their neighbor and three children died, because did they not deserve a miracle too? Is God really that selective? Can we thank God and doctors and God for giving that particular doctor enough tuition money and smarts to be a doctor in the first place? It's a rabbit hole. And while I'm in this soap box, I hope the pregnancy crisis center JennK promotes is one of the good ones that really helps with prenatal care, sonograms and supplies. The state of Texas slashed funding for family planning centers (prevent the pregnancy) and has really invested in these Christian based crisis centers ($9.2M in 2015, up from $2.5M in 2008.) Some are just terrible. I wish our legislators understood that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
  19. I'm so sad I missed out on Miss @Oranaiche 's cash and prizes. That's what I get for taking a couple days off! In other news, My Fit Foods has suddenly shuttered. I thought it was just the location at Royal and Preston when I stopped by Friday, but saw this article that says it's all locations. http://www.khou.com/life/food/my-fit-foods-announces-closures-of-all-stores/407219111 I used to go all the time when my office was by their location near Valley Ranch, but switched over to Snap Kitchen about a year ago. More convenient for me. But as ridiculous as the show made it sound, it really was awesome if you've got the budget and no desire to cook. Several of my friends always use Snap, My Fit Foods or the other one (Simply Foods?) for weeks when the schedule is bananas crazy and we might otherwise live on fast food. Or juicing. Shudder.
  20. I'll just wear that flannel over my bra, buttoned up, instead of around my waist. On the job thing, I think he should have said something like, "product x has the advantage of widget a, b, c, but your product has d, e, f. If we could find a way to implement A, that would bring stronger profit/sales/etc." It shouldn't be a trick question and I feel like it's trying to suss out how well the interviewee did their homework on the company he's interviewing with and their competitors. But, could also be like telling Kelli you're a die hard Steelers fan or that you make the uniform. lol. I didn't specify the size ?I've got all kinds of creatively shaped food storage containers. I make mini bentos for snacks too tho, normally a hard boiled eggs, diced chicken, almonds, some carrots. Basically the snack boxes they sell at my fit foods. I'm a big lunch person too, but sometimes it's a snack kind of day (no lunch break) and it's easier to pick vs. heating up a more standard lunch for me. I do leftovers a lot too tho!!
  21. Or a secret "hand clap" maybe?? Thanks, I'll be here all night. (And for what it's worth, she seems a-okay to me. And I loved the hand clap routine.
  22. I cried a genuine tear for the first time ever while watching this show - Christina's story is so sad and so fascinating. I love when they actually talk about real stuff. Just...damn. I hope she's just doing this as an experience thing for fun and not because she believes in the hype. Is that wrong reasons? To see this show as a vacation adventure? Jasmine was a hot f-ing mess. I had to fast forward I was so embarrassed for her. ETA: IMO, things seemed to go better with Corinne in the house because there are actually mature people left. Danielle M, Rachel, Vanessa and Christina all seem like actual grown ups. Maybe Corrine decided to rise up and chill.
  23. Seems legit. They're running a good sale right now...$250 for two bags is a great price ? Lemme know how else I can help validate you! Signed, your friend whose whole career has been in retail buying offices
  24. The Dallas night life scene is so small and Dallas is honestly the smallest big city I've ever lived in - everyone seems to be connected by one or two people. Jenna and Dak probably met out one night, hit it off, and I wouldn't blame Jenna one bit for keeping it on the DL for a hot second while they explored if anything else was there. Rules are rules, but she had a few months left on her contract versus a few year's potential with by all accounts a pretty awesome guy, maybe worth waiting it out. And that's leaving out any gold digger potential bc I want to think she's better than that.
  25. I think she looks so pretty here!! Her face looks softer, maybe? I like her dance class makeup more than her show time make up, I suppose. I do wish she'd get a little trim and take care of those dry ends tho :)
