Current Squad 2017-2018: Media, Music, Videos & Show Group

Cassie was iffy her first year, but I think it would have been a big pile of BS to not let her back on the squad for the 5th when she was injured on DCC time. Brooke had a big ass cast on for the group photo and could still be accommodated. At least with Danielle in her second year, Kelli said she wasn't just dinged for dance and they ultimately changed their minds anyway. Busting up your jaw or leg during ill-advised bull riding sessions? No. Ambassador risk as well documented throughout a rookie year? Sure. But if you're injured while dancing for the DCC, you can still put on your sparkles and do appearances. -
On the weight thing, I specifically remember Kelli telling Colby that girls her height (5'9") tended to be around 136. The kicker is that we can line up 15 ladies at 5'4 and 120 pounds and every single one would look different. It's a number and a guide, but if women on the team gained weight and still looked fantastic, they would likely get no shit. Jiggling skin and bellies seems to be the killer every year. The human body is a crazy beast for sure.

Girl, you've come so far since railing against crotch fruit. It's like I'm watching The Grinch and your heart grew three sizes ??? Oh, the holidays. Warm fuzzies all around, just like the Christmas uniforms of the girls! Loving all of their happy pictures on Instagram - what a great season to be a Cowboys fan. Edited to add that I wrote this before I read the stuff about Tasha and I laughed so hard. You are well balanced, my friend. It's all about the balance. -
I voted for Danielle, Jessica and Melissa. I hope Danielle or Jessica get it, but included Melissa in case it's her last year. If she's been interning with Scottish Rite this year, she very well might be headed off to med school in 2017. If that's still her plan, anyway. Who knows? I just like that girl. Love Erica too, if only bc she tends to wear Chucks when other girls wear stilettos, but I think she's staying another year. I do like Jenna too, but just forget about her sometimes. Hopefully she pulls a Sydney and stays and stays and stays.

Eh, they're a big deal too, especially for a lot of little girls (and boys!) Cheer is crazy popular in Texas and I imagine a lot of little ones (especially the girls bc it's the south and gender stereotypes and whatnot) would be just as geeked out about the fluffy hair, sparkly vests and pom poms. I know I would have been. I didn't actually care about football in college, but I knew about the DCC! -
I like where your head's at, but honestly, Dallas has very little besides eating and shopping. It's what we do. I just can't imagine a DCC grubbing down on all of those deliciously fatty Maggiano's. I haven't been in a few years, but I do recall always leaving in a food coma. Some other notes: 1: it looks like they went to a few hospitals (I noticed Scottish Rite, Medical City and Cook's off the top of my head) so they likely had encounters with all sorts of children. Scottish Rite in particular has a kickass prosthesis area, and as others have said, some of these other kids could have cancer but could also just be there from a car accident. Jenna has a very visible scar and it was probably awesome for kids to see her happy and healthy. I get that she can relate, especially if she did her hospital time during the holidays. She gets how scary it can be. 2: Yay Scottish Rite! If I remember correctly, Melissa has been interning there all year. Could be awkward to show up to work in your sparkly underwear, but still cool. Such a great organization - I did some work with them during grad school. 3: The gal with the short, full skirt and blonde hair is the gal who had her own dance studio on the west coast and moved to Dallas with her long term boyfriend. Former Raiderette, I think? She's also on show group. I think her name is Mandy. She's older, so darn pretty, one of the few blondes and I can't remember her damn name.

I always got the impression that Danielle had more humble roots and living off her parents (especially after five years!) wouldn't be an option. Both Danielle and Jasmine were VERY concerned about their financial situation. I loved the detail of season seven!

I think Holly is super cute and an excellent dancer, but I don't get sexy out of her yet. I think it's just her age. When she gets into mid-late 20's, I think she'll be a bombshell, but for now? She looks her age and I think that's a good thing. She doesn't have that hard look that some late teen gals have who imo pull off the sultry thing better. Sensual, sultry, etc. just needs some age on it, for me. I always think her "sexy" pics look a little awkward, but I love when she's just having fun and dancing her tush off.

$68 sounds so weird to me - too cheap for the luxe gyms and too expensive for the LA Fitness, Lifetime type places. By appearances it looks more lik a Lifetime and less like an Equinox. I was paying bank for Equinox, but the location was prime, plus classes and facilities were amazing. Plus, as pretty and new as The Star is, it's still in Frisco which isn't anywhere close to Dallas proper, especially once you factor in traffic. (From someone who lives in Plano.) It's a great suburb, but no gym is worth a long drive.

The girls doing the Clovers made me laugh with utter glee. And the video of them doing the cheers!! So much fun. Loved Jacie and the friend joining in too. What a fun group costume for a gorgeous group of AA women ?? -
I haven't seen stadium spots for less than $120 - $60 was what I paid for a spot far enough away that they offer a shuttle to the game but you do have to walk back. Just over a half a mile so not too bad. Not nearly as awesome as the $2 I paid for light rail in Seattle though! More cash left over for $10 stadium beer ??

Casting call for the Halloween halftime show, y'all! -
Lord help me I actually liked Kelli Pickler so much tonight. I thought she made great parallels to her own career and the TCC could actually identify with her. Love Candace Romo too - I hope she's a permanent fixture, but that all depends on the hubs and if he gets traded, stays as backup, gets his spot back, becomes a full time QB coach...who knows? I was ready for a four cut carnage like last year. No mercy, ladies! No mercy!

There was discussion started in the Former Cheerleaders thread about who had the best fans in football. I'm lucky, I guess, because my two favored teams go back and forth for having the loudest stadiums in the NFL (Seattle and Kansas City.) Games there are incredible. There are also amazing fan bases in Green Bay and Pittsburg that stick out to me because of the fan ownership component in GB and the blue color roots in both cities. Having lived in Dallas for almost half my life, I strongly feel the reason the stadium tickets can be "cheap" and easily had by the traveling team is because so many are corporate owned. And I think so much of that is because of the "dream teams" of the 90's and what Jerry Jones has worked to build. When the stadium moved to Arlington, many lifelong season ticket holders could no longer hold on to their season tickets. I remember reading an article that a season ticket holder on the 50 yard line needed $100k to get close to his old seats in the new stadium. I believe the current license fee (plus tickets!) is $10-$15k. That just prices out the average fan. It's a damned shame, because the stadium is so pretty, but parking is at least $60, there's no public transit available to the ballparks, the licensing fees, and inconvenient location to the most populated parts of DFW. Anyway, just my two cents. As much as I love a flashy chandelier and the lucky two times I've had suite tickets, I miss the old stadium. I like a bit of grit and sweat in my NFL. It's all a big, polished production sometimes.

I know appearance is all about personal taste, but if dancing is about even between the two (and I personally think they are...Kelsey less skilled but more pop IMO,) Kelsey would have a leg up on Kendall, if only because Kendall and Chantal are so similar in appearance. Watching season 9 now and giggling at the judges about Kelsey..."but she's so pretty!"

I so miss going to Mariners games now that I live back in Dallas!! So much fun and so many kinds of beer and cider to pick from ? It's too damn hot for me to enjoy Rangers games, especially since the Ballpark is so far from where I live. Bah, humbug. Thunderstruck is definitely in my top five favorite songs ever. Great for workouts, pretending I'm a DCC and played at so many sporting events. Takes me back to college days too. My heart gave a littl cheer the first time I saw the Apple commercial. -
Botched By Nature - General Discussion

Starina! I loved the follow up, and I hope they do another update next season if she does subsequent surgeries. I thought her husband was a cutie, too. Both husbands tonight were very nice looking and seemed to be nice and supportive. I do worry a bit for the marriage of the blonde breast repair. She's gone a little wheels off ?? Hopefully she's channeling all of that new attention into a super hot sex life with her man. I thought it was interesting how she had most sexual encounters previous to him while intoxcates. Unfortunately I can totally relate...spent some time with my therapist on that one ? -
Watching episode one of season 8, and Kelli Quinn had enough consideration to get her name and hometown during her camera chat. And here we are at season 11! I think she might have been shown in season seven as well. I hope they show a big old montage this season when she makes the team. Or show group!! We might see tomorrow :)

I would wear mine with a sundress. I have a couple of denim ones that would be perfect. Or a purple sundress at a TCU game, red for an SMU game. I love the white with purple TCU logo the Showgirls wear too. I don't feel like Miss Me denim ever took off in Dallas (tho I've seen them at Red River dance hall on occasion), but in more rural areas they were quite popular in Texas too. It's more geared towards the wealthy rancher/4H girls. And despite what television shows you, Dallas doesn't have a lot of that crowd. Guaranteed I'll see them all over the livestock barns when the state fair opens this weekend tho!

When you all stay at my house next year when we attend auditions at The Star ?? I will sooo host that party...lots of room, a pool, two blenders and an easy uber ride to Frisco! No shame, girl. I would have done the same but unfortunately my 5'11" frame came with size 12 feet. I'm still saving up for custom one of these days!

Your response made me laugh out loud! I can validate Tia's career...we both work at the JCPenney corporate office. She's in marketing, I believe for women's apparel. She's just as awesome as she appears :) Not that Belk's is a major competitor, but it can be regionally for certain categories, so I can see why they didn't want to go into specifics during a Belk fashion show.
