  1. maybe the local custom is to round up the price to the nearest dollar (or whatever it's called in the Philippines?) and not deal with coins for change? Rose works in the Flip Flop Shop, so she must know the drill
  2. You mentioning that jogged my memory. Maybe he originally brought the oral care items with Prince in mind (he called the toothbrush "cute" and it looked like one of those battery powered kids toothbrushes) then when he met Rose he decided that she needed them? But no matter if he brought it for himself or Rose, who drags along a whole litre of mouthwash on a trip? We haven't seen him giving Prince any of the gifts he brought for him or nuking the microwave popcorn, but I guess Ed did use one of the condoms.
  3. Rose should have said, "Well, you never told me you were a troll, either."
  4. But he showed his friend what looks to be a nice diamond engagement ring. I think he went there with the idea of proposing until he met her in person and reality sank in. Now seeing the poverty she lives in, he'll probably figure that she'd pawn it as soon as he boards the plane home (and he could be right, I can't picture her wearing a "rock" around her neighborhood.)
  5. @Twopper You also have to keep in mind that the premise of the Before the 90 Days is that if the couple works out, the American will return to the US and start the Visa process. In this case, it would be a spousal visa instead of a fiance visa. But even if they were still together, there is no way Usman would be getting here any time soon especially with the world situation.
  6. I guess they want to play “Words With More Than Friends” but it looks like they’re trolling for a more intellectual partner than Lisa, Angela or Laura BTW, the guy's comments were removed from the recipe. One of the targets must have reported him
  7. IFRC, I think the story was that he was living there and saw her singing in a karaoke bar?
  8. there is a You Tube video and photos that show them getting married in Nigeria. They were posted earlier on this thread. I also looked at the website for the Nigerian club where he debuted the “I Love You” song and Soja Boy was scheduled to appear there as recently as last month, so it appears that he’s still there. edited to add photo from their FB page. The club shut down on the 24th, which would have been after SJB's appearance:
  9. Many of them that don't get married end up in one of the Spin Off shows and get another season (or more) like Nicole and Azan. I think most of them who get married come from the original 90 franchise where the foreigner that they already have established a relationship with comes to the US. The Americans going overseas to meet in person for shows like Before the 90 Days appear to have a lower marriage rate. But one thing I've noticed for all of these shows is that every couple has some kind of drama that makes you think they're going to break up, then surprise, surprise, by the end of the season they're walking down the aisle.
  10. I'll bet his friend Mary at home is one of these women!
  11. Thanks for the tip... Off to seek out movie-size boxes of Junior Mints on Amazon 😄 "Who's gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It's chocolate, it's peppermint, it's delicious..."
  12. I wonder if Geoffrey has mentioned another little detail from his past, his multiple ex wives!
  13. He said, "I don't like to tell people about my past because they judge me." You should have thought of that years ago when you went into the drug selling business. It's going to haunt you forever and rightly so, IMO
  14. I was just following a cooking website on FB when I saw this post, directed to a woman who had commented on the recipe: "So sorry for the infringe on your privacy, it's said that A picture is worth a thousand words, but when I sew yours it was more than words could explain. The charming profile is irresistible, though a little personal message but your look tells a lot about a nice person... So I had to drop a message to the charming person with this great profile just want to know you better and be a friend or more. Hope to hear from you soon 💞 If you don't mind can you send me a friend request let's be friends for better conversations. best wishes" So, I've got to give him credit for the inspired idea of looking for a woman on a cooking site, but how creepy is that! It just showed me how easy it would be to fool someone like Angela, Laura, Yolanda or Lisa into believing a man is interested in her.
  15. I think he said it to his brother when trying to enlist his help. Maybe it’s easier for him to lie to bro than to mom. @Spike, you're right. I just re-watched and he says to Mo, "I love Lisa and she loves me" then Lisa launches into her "I will move heaven and earth to be with him...yada yada yada." After that, Usman brings up the better economy and job prospects and Mo agrees to speak to Mommy on their behalf. But both times he speaks to Mommy, he doesn't say anything about loving Lisa.
  16. When Erika asked her to meet her in a botanical garden, she must have thought suitable attire was a flowered chiffon dress and platform sandals. All she needs is a little fascinator hat. and I hope she has liberally slathered sunblock on those puppies.
  17. and he promised Mommy he and Lisa would come to Nigeria every year. I can imagine Mommy thinking, "Great, you come but leave that white bitch back in America" I noticed that at no time did Usman say he loves Lisa, just that she loves HIM and she wants them to get married. All he said was that he wants to go to America where the job market and economy is better and implied that marriage to Lisa is a means to an end. I wonder if Ash has taken pointers from Jesse's NYT best selling relationship book, "Work on Yourself, Babe."
  18. The same thing he got about asking her to take an STD test and shave her legs. He seems determined to publicly humiliate her, then apologize and try to convince her he's telling her these things for her own good and imply that she should be grateful. I think Ed considers himself a Svengali and he thinks he's going to take this impoverished young woman and with a few tweaks turn her into a beautiful, loyal and willing sex partner who will make him the envy of everyone who made fun of him over the years. She's a project and he's going to teach her hygiene and how to dress. (I can see why the flimsy teddy might have confused her but come on, did he really have to give her instructions on how to put on a bikini top?) I think they've had sex once. Afterwards he asked her to shave her legs. They got to the vacation hotel last night but he's not going to have sex with her again until she does something about her breath. His reaction to her ulcer was downright cold, like "you're just telling me about this NOW?" I guess it didn't come up in the three months they've been online, but he probably wasn't up front about HIS medical conditions, either. (Unlike Stephanie, who has a DISEASE, but that's another thread) and I just had another thought, what if Maria had asked him for money for Rose's MEDICAL TREATMENT knowing that Rose would never ask him herself. My favorite part was when she went to brush her teeth and said in Tagalog, "You're UGLY!" in response to his "I love you!"
  19. Geoffrey, avoiding eye contact when leaving Varya’s mother’s house: “Bye. Thanks for everything. Nice to meet you” while Varya’s mother stares at him coldly.
  20. It was kind of chilling when David grimly said, “Whether she likes it or not, she’s going to see me tonight.”
  21. Does anybody else think Erika was a bit overdressed for a casual backyard party?
  22. Loren used to go on and on about how “hot” Alexei was but a lot of us didn’t see the attraction. But I like how he is with Loren, he’s good natured and clearly devoted to her but gets in his zingers from time to time and brings her down to earth when necessary
