Well, I’m halfway through Magnificent Seven now, and I rented Seven Samurai - but that one’s really long. I may need a couple days to watch the whole thing.

That’s OK, I don’t get the History channel anyway! I rented it on iTunes for two bucks 👍🏼 Oh, the one at the end of TGTBaTU was really good. Even though Angel Eyes was the Bad, I kind of liked him 😄

I just finished Once Upon a Time in the West - that one was a bit of a slog! Good payoff in the end, though.

Pearlite and any other movie aficionados! I am currently obsessed with The Mandalorian, and it being styled as a “space Western”, I now want to watch the movies that define the genre. Just finished watching The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - what should be next on my list?

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, all you womp rats!

Damn me if I didn’t feel a little sorry for that wretched golden monkey! Great episode. The scene with Will and Jopari was touching, and I thought the sound effects for the Specters were really creepy. I can’t wait for the third season - hopefully the BBC will give the go-ahead soon!

Bite your tongue! It’s only four years old 😄 Well, four and a half... -

When Bo Katan was bringing in the little Imperial ship to the cruiser, I remembered how many times Starbuck brought a Viper in hot to Galactica’s flight deck 😄 -

Hess’s bit about the New Republic falling to pieces, and the people crawling back to the Empire when they realized that they wanted order, reminded me of Loki’s speech in the Avengers: -

Mando and the juggernaut fight made me think a little bit of Daredevil, and how he was frequently shown to be physically exhausted after a big fight but would still keep going until all the bad guys were down - I’m thinking in particular of the hallway fight scene in the first season. -

I thought at first the mine planet was called Morag (like the MCU planet), but it’s actually called Morak. -

Yes! I had the same thought 😄 -
I’m so sorry - thinking good thoughts for him ❤️

Oh man, that was great. I think the hair was standing up on my arms when Lyra attacked her mother, and I was fiddling with the cap of my USB stick and clenched it so hard that it left red marks in the palm of my hand! Love Mary Malone. I can’t wait

Holy crackers, that was amazing. The visual effects, the music - brilliant. The music in some places even reminded me of the movie “Arrival”, particularly when the Spectre was chasing the boy who had stolen the knife (I forget his name even though I’ve read the book a few times). Wow. There were multiple scenes that gave me goosebumps! It’s also great that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is voicing Jopari/Stanislaus’s daemon! 😄

It took me a shamefully long time to recognize Michael Biehn 😄 I started watching Clone Wars tonight as I’d like to know more about Ahsoka. -
There’s a good column in the Guardian today about the treatment of developmentally disabled people. Note: in the UK, developmental disability (DD) is known as learning disability, and conditions such as ADHD without the DD component are known as learning difficulties. As an aside, my two sons are autistic; my 19yo is also developmentally disabled, and my 15yo is mildly intellectually disabled. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/nov/26/the-crown-learning-disability-storyline-painful-lack-of-progress

I find it hilarious (although I don’t know why) that Lord Boreal drives a Tesla 😄 Looking forward to next week - hopefully Will finally gets the knife! I really like Mary Malone; also, interesting to see how they incorporated the knife and the Cave into the opening credits.
