That's very interesting, clanstarling. Would you be willing to share what made you change your mind? I've heard many others say they thought the Ichabbie partnership hasn't been as strong as in the past seasons, but obviously this season had a different effect on others such as yourself.Edited to give kudos to FivebyFive and DearEverett for their awesome posts!

Maybe he can cover it up. He didn't file her paperwork for her resignation, so if he claims she used up her vacation during that time and fixes the records to back it up, who's going to question it? We know he and Sophie were investigating her disappearance, but as long as it wasn't broadcast far and wide then they can probably fudge something.

I thought it was kinda sweet, in a Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas kind of way. But yeah, watching everybody watch while completely non-plussed sort of made the moment.

Point of Discussion: The burning of the cabin where Katrina spent so much of her time with Abraham = "mea culpa, we promise to erase the very stains of these memories and we swear we'll never do this again, baby please come home!" from the writers?

Regarding the Previously TV recap.... Good recap; I'm glad the reviewer liked this episode more than the others. And I too yearn for Original Recipe! Headless. But I have to disagree with the reviewer's last point. I get that people are tired of almost always seeing the two leads in a partner-led series hook up. But that neglects the fact that the vast majority of these couples are white male and white female. Outside of a Shonda creation, if a white man has a close relationship with a woman of colour it is never allowed to be anything *except* a "rock-solid working partnership and an abiding, blood-strength platonic bond". The implication is that show runners don't see their women of colour leads - what few there are - as being "the type of woman" that a white hero would go for. So when the next Castle and Beckett (or Bones and Booth, or Mulder and Scully, or Tony and Ziva, or Fitz and Simmons, or Meredith and Derek, or Alicia and Will) arrives on the scene, I will be the first to echo the battle cries of "rock-solid working partnership" and "abiding, blood-strength platonic bond" in the very thick of the fray. But in this show? The one with a nearly obscene amount of chemistry between its white male hero and a woman of colour who is a role model and inspiration to many? HELL NO. I want to see the biggest, most sweeping, most epic, most tender courtship that ever erupted on television. I want Ichabod Crane to be so truly, madly, deeply in love with Abbie Mills that he'd rearrange heaven, hell and everything between for her and her alone. I want bedroom scenes so scorching they set off One Million Moms screeching for weeks about obscenity on television. I want the sort of epic love that gets remembered as a cultural touchstone into the next century. Basically, I want the showrunners of Sleepy Hollow and Fox Television to double down on the idea that a woman of colour is every bit as beautiful, desireable, and worthy of a romantic fairy-tale storyline with a dreamy British white male hero as every other (white) woman. Let one of the plentiful white male/female led shows out there carry the platonic torch. Because in this world a romance between leads like these is a story not told nearly often enough. (ETA to add the sentence at the top.)

You know, that is so true! They're really managing a large cast quite well. I just wish Daniel Reynolds wasn't so much of a cipher. Can't we give him some of Betsy Ross' time?

I had no idea James D'Arcy was the first mate in Master and Commander until I watched it a few weekends ago!

Trevor Noah: The Man Himself
Miss Dee replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
Feel free to post about it afterwards Delwyn! You too, Bosstonz16! I think the man is brilliant at stand up comedy and would love some links to videos or a small recap. -
Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?
Miss Dee replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Sleepy Hollow [V]
Welcome PaisleyPark! I think you must be the only person who tuned IN to watch Sleepy Hollow because of the negative press instead of tuning OUT! :) Hope you stay and play; we're a passionate bunch but we don't bite. (Hard.) -
I'm okay with how they've shaken down so far; the specific direction you mentioned above just didn't bother me as much, so maybe that's why. Maybe Joe was striding over to give her a massive smackeroo and changed his mind last minute? :)

Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?
Miss Dee replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Sleepy Hollow [V]
From the two reviews listed here, it sounds like it's going to be a fairly deep and thoughtful episode in addition to the ubiquitous action. I'm expecting some lovely moments that will be able to foster lots of discussion. -
Aw, see, I'm kinda liking the soft kisses. That strikes me as realistic for a couple who've known each other a long time and are only just discovering they have an attraction to one another. I know that kind of low-key connection is not the usual sort of "hot" chemistry that mobilizes large fanbases and strarts reviewers' tongues wagging and gets itself on Top Ten Couples lists, but it's a very familiar and believable kind of connection that I see a lot in successful marriages and long-term relationships. It's nice to see it on TV. You couldn't build a series on it, but for supporting characters it's a refreshing change. Besides, it makes a good contrast to the couple who gets everyone fanning themselves just from the way they hold hands!! And means there's really no competition as they're two very different types of relationships. Ichabbie, I think, is going to be the fantasy star-crossed couple where they clearly love each other but must overcome lots of obstacles to be together and live happily ever after. Think Westley and a kickass Buttercup. Whereas Joenny is meant to be more grounded and laidback, less fraught with destiny... the couple who gets junk food and settles in to watch The Princess Bride for date night, just happy and comfortable and solid as a rock. And I'll leave you with the image of Abbie asking Ichabod to do something and he answering "As you wish...."

Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: How's Your Head?
Miss Dee replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Sleepy Hollow [V]
I want Abbie to get everything she wants, but I have to be honest: if this episode ends with her declaring her love for Daniel, or Ichabod proposing to Zoe, or anything like that... well I'm going to feel seriously deflated. LOL. -
I think this is meant for famous landmarks, theaters, etc.?

I don't know anyone else who even remembers the Sabrina remake, much less enjoys it! I love that move, love Julia Ormond, love Paris, love Harrison, love Greg Kinnear, love the slow and stately pace of it, all quiet epiphanies instead of over-the-top fighting and drama. I think is an adorable movie.

So... to be a little bit crude, this is "shit or get off the pot" time?? -
I'm not a comics reader at all. Is there room in the canon for Steve Rogers to get demuscled and go back to what he was before, rather than outright killing him?

Dammit, Abbie's face when she gets like that is the youngest and most vulnerable I've ever seen her look. How Crane resisted throwing himself on his knees and professing his undying love there and then is a mystery. I damn near did it myself right there in front of my TV. And I cannot see for the life of me how that hand job (heh heh) could ever be seen as platonic. If one of my platonic friends ever tried that with me they'd be finding out what for *real* fast. All that said.... I'm really not expecting to find out they slept together or made out or even talked about this further by the next episode. I do think the writers are writing any romance between Abbie and Crane very much in the vein of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Which I'm fine with, *if* we get another season. If this one is it, I really need to see the buildup to the romantic climax here (and you can take that any which way you like), and not have everything take place off screen or in subtext only.

Wow. Usually you remember the shipping moments as being way hotter than they actually are. I think this is the first time I've seen a shipper moment tha increases in temperature the more you look at it. I actually have to pull my eyes away at times, it feels so damn intimate.

I understand why they rushed it, even though I'd have preferred for her exile to have lasted a few episodes for impact (as long as we saw her ordeal during that time). Even on this board there were rumblings about giving up on the show if Abbie were sidelined for more than one episode, and this is by far the most positive community I've been able to find for Sleepy Hollow (we don't constantly grumble about how the show sucks just as bad or even worse than last year and why don't they put it out of its misery already). TPTB probably didn't want to risk alienation from fans by keeping Abbie out of the action longer than one episode, even if they would have preferred it from a storytelling perspective.

Sleepy Hollow Quotes: "Farewell, Yolanda"
Miss Dee replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Sleepy Hollow [V]
I need to find the heartfelt quotes to put in here from the last two episodes. There were a few. And I've decided I liked the B plot of this story based on the above dialogue alone. -
I was going to comment, but my spirit needs to go astral-project itself over to the writers' room and give them a hearty slap on the back for a job well done. I need to watch this again anyway to form anything coherent.

Aw, I love that she hangs out with Zach Appelman to watch the show.
