  1. I really liked that Riggs resented Trish a little bit for bringing it in the courtroom, only to make up with her later. I like that Martin and Trish have their own relationship, and that it's not just he happens to be Roger's partner and she happens to be his wife. (Heh, sounds like a thruple.)
  2. Wait a sec, wait a sec, wait a sec! These are the same guys who run and write for Arrow, correct? Sheesh, what are we getting worried for? These guys get off on trolling fans and play with truth all the time. "Mick is a pyromaniacal and sociopathic deviant who's one good sneeze from breaking bad again!" is probably code for "Mick will end the season frolicking in the meadows with kitties and rainbows!"
  3. So "this whole season is like a battle for Mick Rory's soul", huh? Okay, I appreciate the focus that puts on him. But - spoiler alert - that's only satisfying if the good guys win!
  4. SERIOUSLY?!! DAMMIT!! LoT, you were doing so well! Why you gotta play a fan favourite like that?!
  5. Dammit, my browser won't open the EW article (which has, BTW, the single most frustrating online website I've ever encountered, and that's saying something). All I can say is they better start sellin' if they're expecting me to buy in. Take last night - there wasn't so much as a hint of anything between Amaya and Nate suggested, not even during the movie scene where they could have bantered or at least sat side by side. Are they going to contrive an offscreen two-year development again? You get one, LoT and you already used it! But fine, whatever, they can be each other's great love all they want, just sell it in the story. But if the show uses Amaya's love for Nate as the catalyst for Mick to break bad again.... NO. JUST NO.
  6. I suppose the picking up a woman could be related to losing his wedding ring. Even though he bought another one, on some level he's probably aware that the last physical reminder of his marriage is gone and that ring is not "real" but an attempt to prevent his finger (and heart) from feeling so empty. He admitted in this episode that he's starting to forget things about his marriage (the drinking is not helping, I imagine). I also don't think he was suicidal at the end - I think he was concerned that Roger would die with him if he didn't let go, and was trying to make Roger save himself. Not that Riggs wasn't somewhat at peace with the idea of dying, but I don't think he was actively seeking out the opportunity. I'm sorry for your loss, @JackONeill.
  7. I loved the confessional too, and Roger's admission that he considers Reese a friend. I really wish Reese could have heard it on that speaker, even if he didn't respond. CC really sold how guilty he felt for cheating on his wife. I for one am grateful that they're taking their time coming out of this. Suicidal grief is not something that should begin healing in a few episodes. And it's one of my pet peeves nowadays that writers burn through plot so damn fast. I don't want things dragged out, but I think having Martin grieve for most of the season is not unrealistic in the grand scheme of things. I love Avery. As far as buddy-cop supervisors go, he's absolutely a breath of fresh air. I love all the characters on this show. I remain torn on whether I want a marriage like Roger and Trish's, or Randall and Beth's on This is Us.
  8. Speaking of Lily, promotional pictures show that she's in the next episode. All of them but one show Rip with the Legion; the last one is of her and Mick conversing with Ray (I think) in the background.
  9. It would be cool if he actually said that to them at some point. "I can kill you anytime I want and you can't do a damn thing about it; kinda want you around for my own purposes right now though, so enjoy life while it's granted to you. By me." @Chyromaniac, I get where you're coming from. Ideally someone would have shot back about how maybe the writing or direction weren't helping matters with regards to Savage. Although maybe Caspar Crump understands and appreciates the joke, who knows? Or maybe he's a total asshole so they don't care.
  10. I LOVED that prophecy line. Not just the meaning of it, the strength of the word choice, but because it was so unexpected. So often I can complete these lines long before the actor finishes his/her pause. This was completely new.
  11. I laughed harder at that than I do at most sitcoms. Arthur Darville was FANTASTIC; if he stays like this he just might become my second-favorite character. Nick's gruff, pointy-finger "Stay in school!" was hilarious. Once I realized where they were going with the trash compactor, I nearly fell off the couch. I liked the Jax/Sara dynamic this episode too. They have a real supportive big sis/little bro thing going on that's sincerely sweet. I liked watching Amaya throw that guy around after calling on the gorilla. She makes a good third to Ray and Nate. Wish we could have gotten her reaction to the movies - films would be *really* different than the kind she's used to. Not sure how I feel about Mick's story. I'm glad we got a Chronos mention, but I think they went *really* overboard on the "Mick is stupid" angle. C'mon, writers, he is capable of using three syllable words here. I'd be okay with simple - not everyone has a complex mind - but they were bordering on Forrest Gump there. I am also convinced there's a contest on set to see who can dress Dominic Purcell in the worst possible costumes. That orderly outfit was...something. I've seen this man in a suit, guys. You're not gonna convince me he's ugly. All that said: this show is forgiven *everything* for throwing shade at their own Vandal Savage storyline from last season. Okay, show. We cool.
  12. Honestly, I can't see any way Mick can become a Rogue again given his growth as a character. If that hadn't happened, and Mick just kept being the same guy who lost his partner and was wondering what the hell to do with himself now that he was gone, I could see Len coming back and talking him into being his partner in crime again. But to negate all of Mick's character growth like that would be extremely unsatisfying in a dramatic sense. I could see reversing Len sacrificing himself for Mick and having it happen the other away around this time to show Mick's growth and foster Len's growth at the same time. But as they've "killed" Mick off once, it'd have to stick or it'd be incredibly contrived. Obviously that's the outcome I DON'T want!! I'm not sure I could continue watching if they killed my very favourite character, or contrived to reduce him back to the man who first joined the Wave Rider. But I do think it would carry more dramatic weight if, instead of Len pulling Mick into the dark, Mick successfully pulled Len into the light - to the utter astonishment of everyone there, including Mick himself. Their whole dynamic has been built on Len leading as the brains and Mick following as the brawn. This would balance and possibly even reverse the division of power between them, thrusting Mick into the role of leader and even mentor with Len struggling to accept him in that role, having a profound effect on their dynamic. And not just inside the story, but in a meta sense for the audience as weve been conditioned by television to see Wentworth Miller in the dominant role and Dominic Purcell as his support. I would love to see gbe show play with those expectations. This would also help bring Len as a character back to where he was before he sacrificed himself, as I don't want his growth to be negated long term either. I've nothing against the Captain Canary ship and I hope there's a role in there for Sara to play too, romantic or otherwise, but I do think the lion's share of the influence has to come from Mick for dramatic purposes. Basically I just want to see Mick loved. Nobody loves him, and he thinks Amaya is the only one who even likes him - and he might be right. I'd love to see him grow into realizing he's needed and appreciated. I'd love to see the team realize this too. I want to see the team go completely ride or die for him, and see why and how they get to that and how he responds to that.
  13. I have to admit, I cackled madly at Mon-El's bon mots. Paris City... madly Monotheistic... I think it's the way he tries to recover from the errors that makes it so funny. The actor really sells it. I do love Kara, but I hope one of the overarching themes of the show is her learning to grow into her own womanhood and maturity. She's cute and girlish and adorkable and fun, and I'm fine with that; I never want her to lose her hope and optimism and ability to inspire others, but I'm ready for her to develop a sense of gravitas and authority as well.
  14. I have to say, I was really impressed with Tom Ellis tonight. He looked sick when it hit him what his mother and Maze meant, and change from euphoric to sick was mesmerizing slow. Great decision to have the actor and camera take its time there. Lauren Graham (that's the actress for Chloe, right?) was great this episode. Her self-conscious flirting was the first time I've really felt endeared to her as a character, although I've liked her all along. I would definitely surmise Chloe subconsciously understand Lucifer is exactly who he claims to be. I just assume most Los Angeles citizens sort of accept this is his shtick to market his business at Lux and that he's a poser who never knows when to drop the part. Dan, you can call Lucifer a dick anytime you want. I really love Dan, I want him to be happy.
  15. You know, I could get behind the idea of "The Joker" being a faceless sea of people that all get bitten with the same craziness...just as one gets put down, another pops up, over and over, like intelligent zombies. And only one Batman to stop them all.... You could go through several flavors of the Joker that way too... channel everyone from Caesar Romero to Mark Hamill to Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger. I always thought Barbera would become the origin of Harley Quinn, but I think I could accept Lee as an alternative take on the character. Her "bored now" recapping of all Jerome had missed since early Season 2 and his reactions to it was maybe one of the funniest things I've seen yet on this show. Bruce and Selina were fantastic. Catching her leg like that would have been really hot if the actors were older. I'm sure the younger crowd will think so anyway!
  16. @MarkHB, I forgot it was associated with Jesus. Suggesting any association between the Christ and Sauron - yeah, the writers aren't gonna go there on purpose. I still think there's a good chance of a group mission and accidentally setting the thing off to confuse reality around them. Good time to bring any tensions and character beats to the surface, much like with "Marooned" (which had some of the best character setup and writing in the series).
  17. Patrick Breen! By Grapthar's Hammer, by the sons of Worvan, you shall be avenged (for the years you spent in prison for no good reason)! He made this episode for me. He's such a good actor, and deserves a much bigger career than he's had.
  18. Could it refer to the Legends being a "fellowship" that has to deliver the Spear somewhere, maybe to destroy it because it's so dangerous? And maybe the Spear "whispers" to them by altering their realities to make them all paranoid and distrustful of one another?
  19. Aw, thank you @NutMeg. I sort of dashed it off in a hurry, so I'm glad you and others liked it.
  20. I think the relative said that, not Avery, and it was because said relative was comfortable using such language that Avery wanted to avoid him.
  21. I hadn't even heard of that one.
  22. Yeah, that Buzz feed article was... eye-opening. I was starting to go a little weak I'm the knees by the end of it.
  23. I have never seen a single episode of Prison Break. I am going to watch the revival solely for Dominic Purcell, based on seeing him in Legends of Tomorrow. I haven't had a TV crush like this since high school!
  24. Can you imagine what it would be like if we'd had the internet back when Shakespeare was writing? "It's really pulling me out of the story to hear a Danish prince using modern language. Couldnt they find a real guy from Denmark for the lead?" "Look, I'm a toadie for the Queen in real life and this guy doesn't have the first clue how a royal court works; it's really pulling me out of the story." "Oh come on, didn't it occur to *anybody* that those wigs are totally anachronistic?! I don't want a romantic prince from far away to look like somebody I'd meet just down the road!" "Oh, so a *play* is going to get everybody to spill the beans on the murder? Can't this hack write a logical plot line for once without mucking it all up with contrivance?" "Ugh, Hamlet and Ophelia! I'm SO SICK of stupid romance taking over these shows! Can't we have a platonic friendship for the lead JUST ONE TIME?!" "Oh great, everybody dies at the end. AGAIN. Way to end with an original thought, genius." On topic: I'm not a big fan of insisting on total realism in shows. And I'm sick of having to defend liking the romance parts of stories.
  25. I don't mind Nate, but I highly resent his getting between the Mick/Ray bromance. I need my Puppy and Pitbull adventures, dammit!
