  1. Oh damn, so it was! I got half his name right, LOL.
  2. If it's one coed bathroom with one shower, that line of Zari's is going to launch a thousand fanfics....
  3. I kinda gotta agree with my girl Zari though: One bathroom? Among 7-8 people?! What the hell do they do when Mick's hogging it after a bender - drag him out and make him use a bucket? No wonder Stein wants to get out of there; the bladder gets weaker as one ages!! Although I suppose one bathroom doesn't necessarily mean one toilet. I now demand bathroom tete-a-tetes like in Ally Macbeal. And does that mean there's only one place to shower?? Are they on a shower schedule as well as a chore schedule? I have so many questions!!
  4. I'd pay real money for the writers to make Ray say that to Mick's face. I'm happy to see there'll be at least a little interaction between Ray and Mick in this one. See writers? You can develop Ray and Mick while keeping Ray and Nate's broship intact. Ray can have two friends!!
  5. Hah! I did; thank you @Starfish35!
  6. I love the warm glow this show gives me. Someone help me out: who played Older Darryl? At first I thought Tim Meadows, but now I'm second-guessing myself.
  7. I don't mind anything that gets Tom Welling on my screen, including the Lieutenant. But thank "Dad" Ella was dialed way, way back this time. Hope Dan and Charlotte are able to reconnect. He deserves a win and she seems pretty decent. Tom Ellis' face as Charlotte kissed him was high entertainment. Although, while I understand why they couldn't go there on television: would the devil really care about banging a hot babe just because his mother used her as a human vessel that one time? I'm thinking that's probably way too conventional for someone who likes to push the boundaries. I missed Amenadiel.
  8. CHAD LOWE!!! *smacks head* I knew I recognized him! Count me in as really liking the ideas in this one. I appreciate that they showed both the comfort faith can bring and the ways religion can be dreadfully perverted. Which means I think it was a good choice that Chad Lowe was misguided rather than malicious; it made for a different kind of villain. And I appreciate that Supergirl couldn't save the day under those circumstances; had it not been for the efforts of lowly humans, 15,000 people would have died, including Supergirl. Actually I appreciate that her voice was typical for a solo at a school concert, rather than her coming off like a young Charlotte Church or Jackie Evanco. I've heard hundreds of those kids; the verisimilitude was on point. Well, this week's episode might be particularly ill-timed for you. ? Although I would describe him as more naive than stupid....
  9. Eh, I'm gonna reserve judgment until I see what they're planning to do with her and what effects the potions have had.
  10. So apparently this is the first episode where Constantine shows up, if what I read on Reddit is to be believed - not Ep 9 (the first one after the crossover with the Vikings and Captain Cold).
  11. See, I don't mind if this is where the show sees Rip - being too analytical is just as bad as being too impulsive if you're in leadership. But rather than take him out of any leadership role, I'd rather the show put him back with the Legends so he can work on that. Honestly - and they probably won't go here because of Darvill's schedule, unfortunately - but I'd love it if the Time Bureau actually kicked him out like a CEO muscled out of his own company, either because they're taken over from within by someone evil or just don't believe he lives up to their ideals anymore. With nowhere to go, he ends up back with the Legends. From Sara and others he learns and works on the parts of his leadership skills that need improvement. Then the next time he takes on that role (probably when Darvill needs to be away again), he fares much better.
  12. I agree. I'm all for romantic relationships being angst-free and happening in the background on this show.
  13. Part of that is that they live as well as work together. They're like a submarine crew. The Arrow and Flash teams are close, but are still living separate lives. That'd be sort of fun to have the other teams comment on - how the Legends folk are all up in each other's business and fight like family and have very little emotional and psychological distance between their members. Hell, even Mick is getting into it.
  14. Is anyone else sort of blown away by the fact we're having deep conversations about Legends, of all shows?!
  15. Believing it is not the issue, @jhlipton. People should be free to believe what they want to believe, including the belief that religion is the scourge of the earth, if they want. What causes the descent into dystopian society is when freedom is taken away, as you so rightly pointed out. I myself would pose that the Puritan era in the U.S. and what it resulted in (witchcraft trials, etc.) is a good microcosm of a dystopian society based on religious beliefs. Lots of science fiction has pursued that thought experiment to its logical ends, especially recently. Thus I find it interesting that Legends chose to go in the other direction, with outlawing religion altogether in the dystopian future it showed - it's, shall we say, not in vogue with the zeitgeist? Although as @legaleagle53 and others have pointed out, history also has dystopian societies based on outlawing all religion. Humankind as yet has not found the ideology that is immune from dreadful perversion by those who would wield it for their own ends. Getting back to Legends specifically: I imagine the choice to demonstrate the dystopia via outlawing religion was due to current politics - people wanting to get rid of Muslims regardless of how they practice their faith in current society is, sadly, all too apropos.
  16. My husband and I are enjoying it highly. It's basically Star Trek: Original with 21st century humans manning the ship and a more modern sense of humour. But despite the fact it's created by Seth MacFarlane, it's neither a parody nor a comedy, so know that going in.
  17. We know if Selina and Bruce aren't in it, neither's your heart. :) (Or mine!)
  18. In a more modern Western society, it'd probably be argued along the lines of, "Religion is the cause of all war, violence and ignorance; get rid of religion and all that will come to an end and humankind will forever be gentler and more enlightened." That argument is going around in some circles today; I can think of at least one TV personality that comes damned close to saying it publicly, especially about Zari's religion in particular.
  19. I'd do that, but I'm really not inclined to shave my head just now.
  20. It'll never happen, so it's a moot point; I'm probably the only person it appeals to. I'm just explaining what I do like about it. A man discovering he's not as straight as he thought he was is something that happens in real life, though, and I'd like to see that storyline explored on television (whether it happened on Legends or not). But I think any show that did it would have to commit - really commit - to exploring that part of it for the character so that it does feel organic, not because the producers want to pair two characters together.
  21. I laughed at "Jeff Sessions" (he really does! Some late-night talk show needs to take advantage of that) and "Latin@-American misunderstanding." I'm glad Jack is still at the school and hope to see more of the other teacher/coach (can't remember his name).
  22. Oh my God, I just finished the latest Covetton House segment and I am CRYING. Literal tears streaming down my face together with barely catching my breath. Of all Colbert's regular segments, this is my favourite. The viciousness with which he punctures the pretentious bullshit around GOOP and everything connected with it is glorious.
  23. Although, as it does any time Wentworth Miller shows up, my perennial fear that Mick will leave the Waverider to go thieving in Central City with Captain Cold once again raises its ugly head. I still think it'd be a betrayal of the character's growth.
  24. Nice! Those are some big "gets."
  25. Aw, you usually don't get to see those two smile like that in character. ETA: Of course, I'm burying the lede there: Captain Cold is lasting beyond the crossover! And if those are Viking furs, that's from Episode 9...which is the first Constantine episode!!
