  1. I'm catching up on AGT episodes tonight. After reading the story about Michael ketteter, I watched Simon tear up and tell him he's a wonderful, terrific person. And I laughed, "no, turns out he's not!"
  2. Yeah, I had a hard time when the regurgitator competed, and it turned out he had already been on 2 other countries "got talent " shows. I think once you've completed, you've chosen that country. Maybe the name should be, "America DOESNT got talent, so we had to import it." What's sad is that Vicki is one act that is representing America. I swear, if vicki performed at a coffee house open-mic night, she'd get no more than polite, embarrassed applause. Is that anyone REALLY laughing? I mean, besides howie.
  3. Ok. I thought I was being overly cynical by not liking this guy and his hero story. I feel better about my cynicism now. He says they got into an "argument" which led to someone calling the cops, and her having a visible red mark on her. From arguing.
  4. With a first pregnancy, many women don't show until 4-5 months along.
  5. Thank you! Between his accent and his rapid-fire way of talking, I could not figure it out. Protein bars and champagne.
  6. did anyone catch what JC was saying when Julie asked what he hoped was in his HOH basket? all I got was "no sugar." and something about models, but there was something else he said.
  7. I have found that the day I run out to the store really quick, with my hair a mess, no makeup, in the old clothes I wear when I am cleaning - I will run into an old boyfriend, an ex-boss, or a woman who was once my rival. But on the day my hair looks great, my makeup is perfect, and I'm in my best jeans and cute top - I could run errands all day without running into anyone I know.
  8. What I would LOVE is if Swaggy plans to do a whole live tv proposal, and is under the impression that this will be OK, and CBS pulls the rug out from under him and runs out of time, doesn't let him do it on TV. Because its not about you, Swaggy!
  9. Aiken's "Measure of a Man" CD was a good one, and was famous for being the year that the Idol Runner-up vastly out-sold the winner in sales. (yeah, I own it)
  10. Just to give some perspective on Sunny's view on abortion: I grew up catholic, went to catholic schools, taught by nuns. One thing that was rammed down our throats was that abortion is the worst sin a person can commit, worse than murder. Why? because when a baby is born, and then baptized, when they die, their souls go to heaven. If a baby dies before baptism, they could not go to heaven. At the time, the church said there was a place called limbo which was where all the unbaptized baby souls went - forever. I recall an illustration of sad little ghostly baby-souls floating, miserably sad, with the idea that they would be in this sad state for eternity. By the logic that an embryo or fetus has a soul at the moment of conception, an abortion means condemning an innocent soul to eternity in limbo. since then, as recently as 2007, the church has refined the teachings, and said limbo does not exist. But, it was never made clear what happens to those baby souls. similarly, catholic missionaries went to poor countries and their main purpose was to baptize everyone. people were dying of hunger and disease, but the catholic missionaries would make sure their souls went to heaven. That was the primary goal, above feeding and giving medical help. So for catholics, it's about innocent baby souls not being allowed into heaven because they were aborted. its not just about LIFE, it's about the After-Life. Because our lives on earth are just a moment in time, in comparison to the eternity that we will be in the afterlife. And not believing this is paramount to saying the whole catholic faith is misguided and wrong. For a catholic to have an abortion, or to speak in favor of abortion, or to quibble on this point, is sinful. That's why Sunny won't do it. Anyway, I just wanted to give that perspective from a catholic education viewpoint. (and to say I haven't believe any of it since the age of 14 or 15)
  11. My friend, who also sells Avon drives me crazy because she pronounces "phenomenal" "FUH. (pause) NOM. enal " And she uses it for everything. "This new eyeliner is FUH - NOM enal" No, it's pretty basic.
  12. Evidence? NO. BUT - Jenna has been found to have sent texts and emails indicating that SHE was pretending to like him, and that it was fake, at least on her part. Looking at how Jordan dramatically over-reacted to things - (How dare you give my girl a giant stuffed dog! I'll throw it in the ocean! Don't ask MY girl on a date! I'll fight you! ) it seems reasonable that it might have been a relationship that was faked for television on both their parts. It seems more likely, to me, than thinking that Jenna was alone in faking it, and was able to string him along as far as she did in 10 days. From what we saw of Jordan on the B'ette and on BiP, it seems he would rather go along with a fake proposal/engagement/breakup, than to fade into obscurity. YMMV
  13. When did this start? It seems to be everywhere in the past several months. Me: "I'll have the salmon" Server: "Perfect!" Me: (it better be, you're charging $28 for it)
  14. Maybe he was upset that their little scam was being exposed and he was not going to come out of it looking good? Just a thought. Jenna said her relationship with Jordan was all an act. Maybe he was ALSO acting. He sure seemed like some of his over-the-top stuff was staged. And again, if it were, it would be the greatest scam of a reality tv show ever. Maybe they had more "drama" planned, considering they thought they had another week in paradise.
  15. TEN DAYS! no wonder at the end, everyone was surprised that it was over. they thought they had more time. What's really funny, though, is that in 10 days, Annaliese was saying "I think I could get engaged at the end of this," about (if I recall) 3 different guys.
  16. WAY out of date? Sept 9? OK - But everything I've been reading says he may or may not get severance, it has been put aside pending results of an investigation. All articles from this past week.
  17. probably not. Moonves leaves without a severance package.
  18. Jordan was also a real asshole for much of the time on Paradise. Temper tantrums, yelling, feeling like he "owned" Jenna, and would fight with any guy who tried to flirt with or approach her . If anyone deserved to be conned it was him. And I'm not even sure he wasn't in on the whole thing. Wouldn't it be great if their whole relationship was faked just for TV exposure?
  19. Recent language quirks that bug me: 1) "I just can't with him" I guess it means something, I'm never sure what it means you "can't" do. Sometimes it means - "I don't like that person." So SAY THAT. 2) " I am meh about that" I get "meh" as an expression of boredom, apathy, whatever. More of an exclamation than an actual feeling. But to say "I am meh" about something, always makes me ask the person to repeat, because I think I missed a word. I get it when it's written, but in spoken language it is confusing. 3) "I'm like (insert vague facial expression here)" The conversation is on the order of Q: "wow, what did you think when that happened?" A: I was like (shrug, look scared/angry/bored)" The English language is a wonderful thing. using a word for your feelings or thoughts communicates much more precisely. When someone prattles on and on using this, It drives me batty - "so she said blah blah, and I was Like (facial expression) and then she was like (different facial expression, combined with a WHA?)" Yeah, I'm an old fart who often talks to young people.
  20. Didn't kendall kiss TWO other guys besides Joe, after being with Joe? I can't recall everyone who came in. But I thought Joe liked Kendall right away and never changed his mind, while Kendall continued to "play the field" with someone else, and then with Leo. While Joe waited for her to come to her senses and return to him. I think at the end he felt he was being played by someone who was settling for him, constantly looking to see if someone "better" was going to enter the scene.
  21. Ok, thanks for the correction. I do think they talked about their feelings for each other, though. And, yeah, I totally would have been joking along with Joe about the craziness of a proposal after such a short time together.
  22. To be fair, we don't know that they DIDN'T have a serious conversation about marriage. We only know that we didn't observe them doing so. Didn't they just have their "fantasy suite" night? I assume that's the perfect opportunity for serious conversations about the future.
  23. I just threw away a container of blueberries because every time I ate some, about 1 in 5 had that icky soft texture that made me want to puke. They had no signs of being rotten, they must have been exposed to extreme temperatures or something. I remember when fresh blueberries were sweetened and juicy.
  24. Yes, and Jordan would lose his temper on any guy who tried to get close to jenna, even if jenna was welcoming the attention. Though he did seem genuinely fond of her, there was a controlling aspect that is scary.
